Appearance & PersonalityDemeanor: N'raeya is an individual who displays only a facet of whom she truly is at a time. Preferring to keep a vast majority of herself hidden at all times, the female is guarded, jaded, and typically stand offish to those that she does not know unless they are vouched for by someone she respects. Her opinions are often kept close, thoughts even closer, and a vast majority of anything she shares ultimately does not share the weight of her true musings. Many would call her pensive, but, truthfully, she's far from it. Many of the mannerisms she reveals to those around her nothing more than a mask.
Hailing from the deserts of the Thanalan originally, the Seeker doesn't display her rough upbringing in any of her day-to-day life. Instead, she typically shows the part that ultimately carved her into the person that she is today - her love for the sea and her former life as a rough and tumble pirate. She speaks in a fast, clipped manner of tongue, often jamming words together that otherwise belong apart, and causing many headaches with the sailor accent that comes so naturally. Her body language has often been described as hostile, closed, and overall difficult to read if looking further than simply the surface - which is exactly the way Raeya wants it to be, given how little is actually known of her.
All in all, the former pirate either comes off as being standoffish and distrusting or someone who just doesn't particularly care. Both are true, but yet both are a lie at the same time. A walking conundrum, Rae often leaves mixed first impressions, leading to people not judging her farther than her appearance - and always leaving those people a chance to glimpse the real gem that lies beneath the murky surface.
Trope: Anyone who knows the pirate knows that she doesn't put any particular stock in any of the Twelve. One of her favorite phrases and one that offends most around her is, "Twelves' damn i' all", "Twelve be damned!", and "Bleedin' Thal's balls!". Colorful in her nature and explicit in her language, if there were any that the Seeker would pay heed to it would most likely be Llymlaen the Navigator. At one point in time, if anyone were to recall former pirate queen Lysea Danwro, they would easily know that, once upon a time, that was the very name that the Seeker went by. Any member of her former crews would be able to attest to the fact that the woman used to be a staunch believer and follower of the diety, praying before every journey, praising every safe return home, and seeking comfort from her during storms.
Habits: There are several habits that are key to defining Raeya as a person. Most often, those around her will usually find the Seeker with a flask or bottle in hand or close by. The woman seems to constantly be inebriated, her accent slurring her words together to further deliver the stereotypical pirate impression that she seems to be perfectly content with placing on display. Those who are close to her know that she drinks for reasons that are kept private and close unless they are one of the handful that have managed to break through the many layers of defense she places about herself.
Another disgusting habit the pirate has is smoking. Whether it's cigarettes, somnus, or some other herbal blend, Rae keeps a decorated case specifically designed to house the burnable joints on her person. It's almost always clear what she's decided to dip into for the day based off how she looks. If it's simply tobacco, a heavy scent of smoke and rosewood tobacco clings to her person. If it's somnus, the glazed sheen to her brilliant, cerulean eyes easily gives it away as well as the ability to easily laugh at almost anything and everything. Hardly anyone has seen her smoke anything but those two products, but when they have, it's clear as day. Usually she's a bit more fidgety than normal, her eyes never seeming to sit still upon one person or object for longer than a minute, her senses more alert than any normal Miqo'te's should be.
Fidgeting with her hair is a constant action of the woman. Same with tapping out random, staccato beats upon her legs, her arms, any surface nearby. Thumbing her nose several times every few minutes or scratching at the underside of her chin is an easy tell-tale sign of discomfort or something being wrong with the pirate, but only those who know her really well would be able to read her body language well enough to see that.
Besides that, any of her other habits are kept secret for good reason and, again, only those who have broken her down and who she's come to trust would know them.
