Appearance & Personality

Rohqu'ra is tall and confident Miqo'te, wearing fancy attire and carrying tools around his belt wherever he goes. Very childish for his age, Rohqu'ra likes to joke around with people and lightly teases people he's comfortable with, but he still has his manners and knows when to act mature and serious around others. He’s very loyal and trustworthy to his friends and he would never think about betraying them. However, he does have a hard time engaging with people and usually spends most of his time alone in the streets or in taverns drinking mead. He is comfortable around the people of the Manufactory and the House of Fortemps.

Crafting and Hunting are what he likes to do most of the time. He picked up crafting after he was recruited into the manufactory when he was settling in Ishgard, and hunting was part of his day to day life before leaving his home in Gridania and he likes to keep it that way.

He has a very laid-back attitude and doesn’t worry too much about everything. Conflict is something he refuses to take part in but only engages if he absolutely has to.

Biography

Rohqu'ra grew up in a big family in the Black Shroud with other Keepers of the Moon. During his childhood, Rohqu’ra felt he had a strong bond with his parents, but mostly with his father whenever he would visit. The two of them would spend most of their time together and his father would teach him everything he knew about hunting and the rest of the world that was beyond the Black Shroud.

As a child, Rohqu’ra got along really with his siblings, growing up with four brothers and five sisters. He would bond with them as they would hunt together every day and play around in the warm grass. However, at the age of 8 he started to roam farther out of the Shroud, curious to see what his father would tell him during his visits. He was always told that he should stay away from other races and societies outside of the Shroud, but his curiosity always got the best of him. He would always go to the edge of their territory, getting small glimpses of different races interacting with nature and each other. Everything he believed about them started to change.

Over the years he kept wandering off by himself to observe the outsiders of their clan in the night and starting to grow fond of their different lifestyles and the stories they would tell each other by their campfires. Hearing many adventures traveling all over Eorzea, slaying countless beasts, and growing stronger along the way. It inspired the young Miqo’te to go and see what Eorzea had to offer him. But eventually, he started to grow distant towards his culture and his family.

Growing older was hard for him, he didn’t know what to do with his future. Rohqu’ra wanted to go and settle somewhere else and face the realm, but he didn’t want to let go of his family as a cost. At the age of 25 he had one more visit with his father and asked him what he should do since he lived a wanderer’s life longer than he had, all his father said that it was his choice and he would have to live with it and face the consequences, and no matter what he chose, he would always love him. After that night, Rohqu’ra decided to go on and explore beyond his home, leaving being his culture, his friends, his family, and his beloved memories of them. Rohqu’ra soon made his way to Coerthas, surviving on his own for days, hoping to find a new place to call home. As he ventured forth, he ended up at the gates of Ishgard. He stood out from the rest of the crowd, the citizens wearing their fur coats while he had his hunting gear on. But the people he interacted with most were the ones of the Brume. Happiness was all he could feel. He immediately fell in love with the city and its people, eager to learn more about both of them.

Time passed and he was able to find a place in the community, a machinist at Skysteel Manufactory while he learned the history and culture of Ishgard from the House Fortemps. When someone would ask him for his name they would get confused and mistaken his tribal name for Rourke. He would eventually get tired of correcting them and the name slowly stuck to him. 5 years have passed, and Rohqu'ra now works with the Manufactory on the restoration of Ishgard after learning the hardships of the Brume, hoping to help the people of his new home. He occasionally makes visits to tailfeather, to remember where he came from and how much he loved his family and the happy times they shared.

Present

One day as Rohqu'ra walked through the streets of the Last Vigil he met Zarlira Beaumont, Countess of House Beaumont. Both began to converse about themselves and what they did. Rohqu'ra was a machinist for the manufactory and helping with the restoration of Ishgard. The Countess was with the Ishgard alliance and planned to expand to the South and seek aid from the Grand Companies. She offered him a place in House Beaumont as their current mechanic and now resides in the Shroud where he once lived when he was born. He travels back and forth between Ishgard and the South, still helping the manufactory and providing the House with whatever they may need. Although Gridania brings back troublesome memories, he will be sure Ishgard is fully restored.

Ishgard Restoration

Now that the restoration as commenced, Rohqu'ra has dedicated all of his time to helping rebuild Ishagrd by learning new skills and techniques with the help of the manufactory. His personal favorite is blacksmithing.
