Biography

Sarai was born under the full light of Nhaama, and at birth, her dark grey eyes and black limbal rings marked the return of Sarai, who had been the tribe's Udgan, and an expert bowhunter. As such, the moment she was old enough, Sarai had a bow placed in her hand, and like the woman whose soul she carried, Sarai proved quickly to be adept with the bow, mastering skills such as arrowhead making, fletching, and bow-crafting. As she grew, she proved an expert markswoman as well. For the most part, her childhood was a happy one, marked only by the deaths of her parents in the Naadam during her 13th summer.

At 18 summers, she was mated to Saldai, who was a skilled spearhunter. Their mating was, for the most part, a happy, peaceful one, until he came back from a hunting excursion speaking of men clad in steel. They'd done something to him, but he never spoke of what. But one night, as his mate, pregnant with their child, was preparing hides for leather, Saldai became a monster when Sarai casually remarked that his aether seemed to be corrupted. He moved as though to strike her, but the way she defensively curled around her stomach was enough to give him pause. Calling her an abomination, he turned and left, deserting her and their unborn child to join with the men covered in armor. Nhaama called their unborn child back into her realm, and Sarai left for Eorzea.
