Sarangerel Moks, commonly known and referred to as Sarangerel Geneq....

Saran&Tengri.jpg

Sarangerel is shy and socially inhibited. She has an inner emotional fear of approaching, befriending people, or being the center of attention.

Outwardly, she is rather quiet and when she does attempt to speak or engage she lacks the ease and relaxation that a non-shy person may naturally have, causing her to come across as weird and awkward. She will also seek comfort in hiding behind her Tengri who is more outgoing than she is.

Sometimes her shyness can be misconstrued as apathy and even hostility towards the people around them causing people to think they're cold and unapproachable. On the inside this is the furthest from the truth. When she knows someone, that's where she shines. Sarangerel is loving, kind, and quite affectionate, can be even playful and witty given the right moment.

In Parting...

Something...

It's not well known exactly what she does, or where her true talent lies. She's of course been seen with a sword, but most of the time a cane. Though if she can use either to her benefit other than giving a good whacking is still unknown.

However, there are mornings where she is found practicing with the sword, for those early birds, they know of her talent with the weapon. One would think from her frail looking form that she'd not be able to wield such a weapon, a dagger perhaps, but the balance of her and her weapon as she works the dummy is quite graceful, almost like dancing.

The cane on the other hand... No one has ever seen her make use of it. As of late, she's not been carrying it around. A silly thing to do in Ul'dah? Perhaps, but who knows what else she could have up her sleeve...

Possibly a crow...

Some of these rumors may be untrue or greatly exaggerated.

Common Rumors (Easily Overheard)

  • "Showed up one sun, out of the blue, wearing naught but rags. Her and her brother both."
  • "She's quiet, mostly, but she and that tall one can sound up a storm, with all their hooting and shrilling and songbirding."
  • "Her and the other, they're disturbing, is what. Sometimes you'll catch them just staring at each other for what seems like bells on end."

Moderate Rumors (Moderately Difficult to Overhear)

  • "They tell me the two Geneq are somehow paying for room and board at the Hourglass. Sarangerel spends her time watching the Quicksand, though. I don't know for what."
  • "Um. Well. She's... you see... um. I'd like to... to buy her a drink... but... tea. That's all I've seen her have. Do you know if she drinks aught else?"
  • "Saw the brother get into it with some highlander fool over his sister. About to kill the Hyur, he was. Had I blinked, I'd have missed it, but her hand twitched and her fingers flexed... and he stopped. Let the bugger go and everything."

Rare Rumors (Very Difficult and Rarely Overheard)

  • "Crow is the word. Crow is the word for rot and for undeath. Gods damn them all."
  • "Rotunda was First, and Eldest. With Atrium departed, and Oubliette missing, that leaves Aviarium as the Second. 'Ware her."
  • "I've heard names, I have. I've heard her call the tall one Adin. Slip of the tongue, I think."
  • "Watched a man and a woman enter Thal's Respite not a moon ago. That very night, saw two demons leave it. Never saw the man and woman again, and they weren't still back there in that cave. Believe me, I checked."

PC Rumors (Add Your Own)

  • "Have a care. There is much to be said for her discretion and mine. Ever has she been the soul of wisdom, and she is efficient and ruthless besides. Woe to those who stand against her, and much fortune to those whom she calls friend."- Tengri Geneq
  • "Seen 'er with 'er brother, an' cause 'o such, I dun like 'er, either. She be guilty by association."- Nahare Mergrey
  • "'Tis not every day a small, strange, horned woman comes offering gifts. Have I truly been so careless...?" - Delial Grimsong
  • "She is an enigma, for certain.....that said she is also one of my only friends." - Lho'a Garanjy

Tengri Geneq
"You took my hand and showed me the way, when I was blinded by unfortunate fate. You took my hand and helped me understand, when I questioned The Voice. You took my hand and made me promise, I'd never walk alone again. Now take my hand and never let go, because our friendship means more than you'll ever know!"

Franz Renatus
"He calls him friend. I might too, one day. For now, though, I've no reason to trust nor distrust him. Though, I'm learning much of what I like and what I don't like about relationships. I hope mine don't come to bite me in the arse."

Jin'li Epinoch
"Kind... so kind, and what did I get in return?!"

Korvos Ikhana
"A colleague, works for me. Of course those orders are passed down from Tengri... He wants more though, discussed it and it won't happen until this business with the Runt is over, even then there is still the approval from my brother, which I believe no-one will ever be able to get."

Lho'a Garanjy
"I still think he's a little on the odd side... But I've found myself conversing with him and actually letting my feelings show. He's a good input for knowledge, and some topics are... well more interesting than others."

They may not have come into this world together, but they came to the same parents. Their father was Geneq, their mother Moks. To him, they were his blood and his tribe. To her, they were but tools.

As Tengri grew, their mother taught him the ancient signals and swore him and his sister both to secrecy. What he learned, he passed onto his sister long before their mother deemed Sarangerel ready. From their father, they learned the calls of the birds, learned to mimic them, to communicate as few other could.

Five and nine they were, when their mother passed away due to complications in childbirth. Both mother and unborn child perished, leaving behind two Moks children who had yet to come to terms with and accept what their mother had always impressed upon them as sacred duty. Rather, the pair took their secret and revealed it at long last to their father and the tribal head.

Suns turned to moons, and moons to cycles. Tengri came of age, and was beset by an idea: that by offering up his unique set of skills in service to the Empire, he might win lenience and preferential treatment for the Geneq. Though he thought his new course best, Sarangerel did not wish to lose him to the Empire, and beseeched him to not go. He was dead to her pleas, and for that he earned himself and the Empire her bitter resentment.

Brother and sister both went missing recently, only to turn up moons later in Eorzea, sporting rags for clothes and little else to show for their past....

OOC

I RP a few different types of characters, especially this two in one. I normally try to go with the flow of the RP. I will use dice if I have to, fair is fair right? RNG FTW! Like all characters we create, there is a part of us in there somewhere, however, I will not myself, do anything out of character for the character. That said, if it comes to ERP it has to be within the SL. I hate random encounters for such, so please don't ask. That's not what I'm here for, I enjoy the plot greatly. On that same note, I won't do it OOCly either, I respect you, you respect me. Personal information I will give is as follows: EST. Yeah, that's all your getting. =3
