:Sebastian Qerel is a terrifying and powerful Dark Knight whose horrid past had led him on the path he walks today. He is cold, distant, wrathful and confidential most of the time. He arrived at Coerthas at the age of 19, traveling with an Xaelic caravan. Later accused of dark art practices, He was severely beaten and sentenced to death along with the caravan by a Paladin Inquisitor Grebix Brausin. He was then saved by a Dark Knight named Alfane. Seeking revenge, Sebastian requested to be taken as her protege and to be taught in the ways of the Dark Knight, Alfane accepted. Within 2 year, Sebastian became a Dark Knight and achieved his desired vengeance for the price of his mentor's life. He sworn to carry on in her stead but later found it difficult, being feared by both heretics and the Halone-fearing people of Coerthas. Later on, we was asked by an middle aged Elezen man to take his daughter away from Coerthas, this later led to the deaths of a noble, several knights and a priest by Sebastian's hand in a small town. The events of that day led him to be dubbed as "The Voidsent Knight." by the people of Coerthas. With a bounty placed on his head, Sebastian left Coerthas, taking on mercenary jobs within other provinces of Erozea. With no place to call his own nor a path to follow he continues to wander Erozea, as he dwells in his dread and hate but how long can he go on before he's completely consumed by it. Only time will tell. (I couldn't make up my mind on which was better so I have 2 theme songs for this OC [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctQPdasg9v0 (Theme song 1)] [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zV8FPNJZoLA (theme song 2)])

Sebastian Qerel is a simmering, secretive Dark Knight serving as an itinerant mercenary across the width and breadth of Eorzea. Always in his company is his war panther cub, Khal Bar. Unheard of before his arrival in Coerthas at the age of eighteen, Sebastien is considered a foreigner by most. Falsely accused of a crime, he found himself at the mercy of an Inquisitor named Grébix Brausin but was saved by the Dark Knight, Alfane. He offered to repay this life debt by entering her service, but was surprised when she instead took him on as a student. For two years, Sebastian trained under Alfane as her protege, learning of the powers wielded by a Dark Knight and of the dangers of the Abyss. This came to a premature end when Alfane sacrificed herself to save him from yet another attack by Grébix. In her dying moment, she bequeathed to Sebastian her soulstone. Yet all of his training did not enable him to unlock the power within this artifact; those lessons had been yet to come. His failure fueled resentment that fanned into an all-consuming hatred of everything. Yet to his surprise, it was this very darkness within him that finally unlocked the stone, revealing its power and offering it to him. With this, he swore to exact revenge upon Grébix and, in time, seized upon the opportunity to do exactly that. Yet it was at a terrible price. Many innocents died and Sebastian was branded a murderer, accused of leaving a stain on his mentor’s legacy. In shame, Sebastian left Coerthas and the people who dubbed him ‘The Voidsent Knight’, and never looked back

*
Life In the Azim Steppe

Born in the Borlaaq tribe, he was given up in the first month of his birth, usually Borlaaq females with give up their male offspring within a year but this was not the case. He was abandoned in the Azim wilderness, away from any migrating paths, wrapped in a blanket and left to die. He was then found by a male huntsman from the Qerel tribe, Barachin. Who barely recused the Xaela baby from a pack of gedan. Barachin managed to fight off the baby hunger beasts until a huge Baras emerged out of nowhere. Barachin defeated the massive beast and with a Xaela newborn in hand, headed off back to his tribe's camp. Barachin brought the newborn back to his tribe, wife and three daughters. There, the newborn was adopted in by his new family and was given the name Koghun. Barachin was an honorable, wise and strong huntsmen/lancer that everyone respected. He was known to be too wise for his age; Some would say as if he's a couple of lifetimes ahead of those his own age. He was a family man, kind to all and gave advice when requested. He was also known for his over-the-top stories.
+
Sebastian’s life began as a swaddled child only a month old, abandoned in the Azim wilderness. He was found by a huntsman of the Qerel tribe, and picked up before the beasts of the steppe could get to the baby. The hunter’s name was Barachin, and he was puzzled, recognising the child to be of the Borlaaq tribe who were known to cut their children loose early, but usually after a year, not just a month.
At age 10, Koghun was a happy, energetic child of the Steppe. When the tribe weren’t migrating, Koghun would wander the surrounding area by himself or with other children from the tribe. When the child showed his natural ability with a spear, Barachin began to train Koghun as a lancer and hunter. Barachin was Koghun’s role model and wanted to be a great lancer like him. His mother was gentle and sweet, always coddling Koghun as he was the youngest. She often motherly and kind, but when angry or irritated, she had this cold stare she will give "in legend" her stare can freeze the river's waters from flowing. His sisters were a bit overbearing and made sure Koghun stood out of trouble and do his chores before sneaking off somewhere but life here wasn't without little hardship. Some of the young children would avoid Koghun, telling him that he's unwanted, an outsider and would often get into fights with the whole lot, but his sisters will always come to his aid. Even some of the adults did not approve of Barachin bringing an outsider to the tribe and will often him the cold shoulder. Koghun felt displaced, like an outcast but Barachin will always lift his spirits up. Telling him tales of his childhood infused with wisdom. Koghun will train even harder to be the best lancer/huntsman like Barachin to earn the respect of his tribe, to prove he does belong. Barachin would on occasion, tell the story of the day that he found Koghun, Although, the story will always change, from the number of beasts, to the size of each beast.

Barachin brought the child into his family with his wife and three daughters. He gave the boy a name: Koghun. Many others in the tribe regarded the boy with suspicion, knowing that he was an outsider by birthright. But Barachin was a respected hunter, and it was enough for the tribe that he took responsibility for the boy. It helped that he would often regale them all with the story of how he ‘rescued’ the boy from a pack of vicious beasts which varied between anything from ten gedans to a thousand elemental aether drooling demons, depending on how bold he was feeling at the time of telling.

When Koghun was ten years old, he showed promise with a spear and began training as a lancer. He idolised his father and adored his mother who doted upon him as the youngest child, and his sisters were energetic enough to give him healthy competition.

Yet some of the other children in the tribe, with the prompting of their parents, were unkind to Koghun, calling him an outsider and often goading him until a fight broke out. Koghun’s sisters stuck up for him, but what carried Koghun through was his desire to follow in his father’s footsteps and make him proud.

: At age 14, Koghun and the other teens his age embarked on the Qerel rite of passage. To kill their first steppe tiger with their own hands. They’re give five day to complete the task and bring their price back to camp, Koghun was determined to be the one to return with a mighty beast. Proving to the tribe that he’s truly a Qerel. Koghun’s sisters and mother wished him good luck, Barachin went on to tell Koghun before he headed off;

'''''Barachin: "Koghun, no matter where you came from, where you go or what others will call you, you will always be Koghun, of the Qerel Tribe. Son of Barachin of the Qerel Tribe. Now Come back to us alive you hear; you don't want to make your mother cry now do ya?"
+
At the age of fourteen, Koghun and some of his peers undertook the Qerel rite of passage - to kill their first steppe tiger. His family was there to send him off with words of encouragement and assurances that he would always belong to the Qerel tribe in their eyes no matter what.

As each participant returned with their price, Koghun parents would grow worry for him, some of the adults predicted that he failed and got himself eaten. Koghun searched in the vast steppe for his prey but to no avail, unaware that he now became the hunted. On the third night under a full moon Koghun was setting camp for the night, when A large tiger crept out from the dark. Koghun was froze in fear at the creature's size but stood his ground. Koghun let out a loud war-cry and the beast let out a mighty roar, then the two clashed. On the fourth day, Koghun successfully returned, hauling the large beast on his back and with moderate wounds. The other participants were at awe that Koghun brought down such a beast and for the first time Koghun was accepted as a true member of the Qerel tribe. Koghun's family were relieved that he returned, Barachin embraced him and passed down his lance to Koghun. The tribe hosted a celebration in honor of the now young adults’ success on that night. Unfortunately, the proud moment was shortly lived for the tribe were caught off guard by a surprise night raid from an unknown tribe. Koghun readied himself for battle but Barachin ordered Koghun to take his mother and sisters away. At first Koghun refused, but Barachin wouldn’t take no for answer, ordering him again.
+
After five days - the usual length of the trial - all of the new hunters had returned except for Koghun. Many of the tribespeople speculated that Koghun had fallen foul of the beasts, and that Barachin had only delayed this fate by bringing him into the tribe.

'''Barachin: "You’re too young and inexperienced to kill or die! Take your mother and sisters and go, GO!'''
+
In truth, Koghun had indeed encountered a tiger on the fourth night of the trial. Though intimidated by the size of it, he found the resolve to confront it, unleashing a war cry to match the tiger’s mighty roar. He prevailed, and returned to the tribe - late, but triumphant.

Koghun and the other young adults took the helpless away from the chaos to safety. When the group got to a safe enough distance, Koghun ran back to aid in the fight. Koghun naively rushed into the fray thinking that he can be of some help but was no outmatch for the experienced night raiders and found himself in dire circumstances. Barachin appeared and protected Koghun throughout the night. The Qerel were victorious but Barachin was fatally wounded from protecting Koghun. With his final breath Barachin past his lance onto Koghun. Koghun, full of anguish and guilt, forever blaming himself for his death. He thought that if only he was stronger, then Barachin wouldn't had to die for his sake.
+
During the celebrations that night in honour of the coming of age of new hunters, raiders descended upon the camp. Koghun was ready to fight, but his father commanded him to seek shelter with his sisters and mother. Koghun helped to lead the most vulnerable to safety, but having done that he disobeyed his father and returned to the battle.
Several days later he decided to leave the tribe to roam the Steppe. He wanted to get stronger and believed he needed to take this journey alone. For months he’d travel and train, meeting new tribes and avoiding others. He traveled as far as the Othard's mountainous eastern reaches. Starving and lost, He stumbled across a Raen village with livestock. He waited until nightfall to sneak in and steal a chicken or two. Koghun was discovered by a Raen girl named Aisuru.

'''Aisuru: "Stop! If you take our chicken, I-I-I'll scream, and all the villagers will c-come, a-and they're all strong warriors and u-u-uh Casters!"'''
+
In desperation, he felled a couple of raiders before being struck down. Yet before his assailant could land the killing blow, Barachin rushed in and struck the man, but in doing so lowered his guard to an attack from the side. The wound was fatal, and Barachin placed his lance into Koghun’s arms as he lay dying.

but Koghun did not heed the Raen's warning and so Aisuru screamed at the top of her lungs, alerting the sleeping villagers. This led to a chase around the village, damaging the village's chicken coop, livestock fences and the loss of a pair of Dzo buffaloes. Eventually, Koghun was caught by the men of the village. Awaiting his sentence, Koghun sat in a hut where he can hear the villagers talk among themselves. Talking about tying him to a log and throwing him into the river where he will drown. Then Aisuru, in his defense, convinced the villagers to have him repair the damages around the village and find the missing Dzo buffaloes. The villagers wanted nothing to do with him so Aisuru was placed in charge of him. Aisuru objected but she how she recommended not throwing him in the river, she had no choice in the matter. During this time, the two spent most of their time together. They argued constantly, blaming each other for the situation they were in. As time passes, they grew tolerate of one another, Eventually enjoying each other company. They began talking about their hopes and bitter memories with one another. A month later Koghun completed his duties for the village and was free to leave. Koghun was a bit hesitate but remembered why he left to begin with. He said his goodbyes to Aisuru, though sadden she wished him luck. Before heading out Koghun promised Aisuru that he’ll come back and visit and headed out back into the Steppe. Some weeks later Koghun met a lone Xaela named Burilgi while hunting. The young ambitious axe wielder was hunting the same prey as Koghun and ruined the hunt. The two fought another until they grew tired and realized that they prey ran-off. They decided to work together to hunt it down. They succeeded in their task and became allies. They realized that they had the same goal and decided to form a partnership. The two would travel and train together. After some time, they both made a pact to help each other become the strongest warriors in the Steppe. Burilgi and Koghun became close, eventually forming a war-band and became War Brothers, symbolizing a brotherly bond between comrades.
+
Koghun was racked with guilt. He swore to honour his father’s memory, but knew that the tribe would never accept him without Barachin to vouch for him. So he left and wandered the Steppe as far as the Othard’s eastern reaches. Lost and almost starving, he stole into a farming village seeking food but was caught by the chieftain’s daughter. She screamed and Koghun was chased from the village, crushing some crops and reed fencing along the way. The villagers caught him, brought him before the chieftain and pronounced that he should be tied and left to the mercy of the elements.
: From ages 15-18, Koghun would roam the steppe with Burilgi and their War-band, warring with other tribes and sneaking away to visit Aisuru. Burilgi’s war-band began to grow in number and strength. The two war brothers were growing stronger with every battle. The two would ride hard in battle, taking on the strongest enemies, fighting huge numbers at a time, even keeping score on the number of warriors they slain. He would tell Aisuru about his battles and adventures, but it only concerned her and warn him to take it easy. Eventually Koghun and Aisuru would fall in love. Koghun began to grow distance from the war-band. His times away gradually increased in time hence less involved in their skirmishes. Burilgi noticed this trend and grew concerned, thinking that Koghun was growing weak. One day he confronted Koghun, asking what's happening with him, telling him that he changed and asking where he runs off to. Koghun trusting Burilgi, He told Burilgi about Aisuru and her village and he may have found his mate. Burilgi warns Koghun to stay away from her. That if he kept visiting her, he will become weak and cowardly like them but Koghun disagrees with Burilgi, they began to argue ferociously which lead to them fighting. Koghun defeated Burilgi in hand-to-hand combat and told him that he's leaving the war-band.

Three days later Koghun goes to visit Aisuru during the night. he arrived at the outskirts of the village and saw Aisuru preparing to leave. Koghun confronts her and Aisuru confessed that she was leaving, in a heartfelt request she asked Koghun to leave his warband behind and leave with her. They shared a tender embrace as Koghun agrees to go. Shortly after, they spotted a luminous glow in the background where Aisuru's village was at. The village was set ablaze and attacked by Burilgi's war-band. Koghun and Aisuru made haste to stop the attack but were overwhelmed and captured. Koghun was pinned down to the floor Burilgi's men, across from Aisuru, unable to break free.

+
But Ayumi - the girl who had raised the alarm - implored her father to allow Koghun to instead repair the damage he had caused. Winning her father’s favour, she was tasked with watching the boy to make sure he carried out the tasks. Koghun was amazed at the beautiful girl who had spoken in his defense. When he asked why, all she said was that despite his rough appearance, she could see good in him.

'''''Burilgi: "Koghun, You have allowed yourself to become weak by this Raen! We do not tolerate weakness, but I will not kill YOU brother. No, For the source of your weakness lies across from you. You'll understand one day that this was for the best. Koghun, I will free you from this weakling!"'''
+
After the repairs were made, Koghun stayed a while longer, talking with Ayumi and learning of her culture. Yet the responsibility to honour his father’s memory kept him restless, and he insisted on moving on. Ayumi made him promise that he would at least come back to visit her, and he agreed. As a token of his promise, he gave her a hand crafted necklace. Then they said their goodbyes.
''

Aisuru said her farewells as Koghun watched helplessly and hopeless to stop it. Burilgi beheaded her with his ax just a few feet from where Koghun laid pinned down. Aisuru's head rolling just a few inches away from Koghun's face. Filled with sorrow and rage, with all his strength Koghun broke free from those restraining him. Like a rabid beast he punched wildly at those who attempted to grab hold of him. He manages to get a hold of his lance, killing a few members of the war-band. Burilgi yelled out the order to stop and allow Koghun through. Burilgi stood over Aisuru's headless corpse, axe readied, urging on Koghun. They fought with such ferocity, it startled the other war-band members. At the end of this savage confrontation, Koghun thrust his lance through Burilgi's abdomen, Burilgi fell to his knees as blood poured from his wound.
+
In the coming weeks, Koghun was hunting when he became aware of a fellow Xaela stalking the same animal. The two attempted to ward each other off, and in doing so almost lost their prey. Ultimately, they agreed that it was better to share the prize than lose it altogether, and so worked together to catch it. Afterward, Koghun learned that his erstwhile hunting partner’s name was Burilgi. Impressed by their combined effort, they decided to hunt together a while longer.

'''" Hahaha, Go on and finish me, just know, my will is done."'''
+
Over the next few years, Koghun and Burilgi gathered to themselves a war band, dubbing themselves the ‘War Brothers’ and skirmishing with other tribes who encroached upon their territory. Their tribe became greatly feared as they grew in number and strength. The bond between the Brothers seemed unbreakable - but a crack was forming.
Burilgi shouted out, Koghun then slit Burilgi's throat and violently plunged his lance into his chest, piercing his heart and pinning him flat on the ground. He repeatedly stab into Burilgi so savagely that his lifeless body would slightly lift off the ground whenever Koghun would pull his lance up. The other members of the war-band looked in horror as they witnessed Koghun pierce Burilgi's repeatedly and fled. Koghun slowly stopped his savage attack when Burilgi's men were gone. Koghun, covered in blood, Overcame by overwhelming sadness at sight of his beloved severed head and Burilgi's betrayal. Koghun let out a loud cry over Aisuru's body as the her village burned around him. He took Aisuru's necklace and buried her, covering the grave in flowers. He left the Azim Steppe only taking his lance, Aisuru's necklace and his broken heart.
+

+
Burilgi began to notice that Koghun was frequently absent from the tribe. For Koghun had been keeping his promise to Ayumi, visiting her often. The two had fallen in love, and Burilgi eventually confronted Koghun about this. He accused him of embracing weakness, falling into the arms of a lesser people. The two brothers fought bitterly when Burilgi threatened to attack Ayumi’s village. When Koghun put Burilgi on the ground, he declared that he was leaving the war band and threathen Burilgi to stay away or be killed.
+

+
And so he did, riding to Ayumi’s village by night. Ayumi received him gladly, telling him that she was planning to go on a journey to see the world, and asking him if he would be willing to leave his nomadic life in the Steppe behind to go with her. With all his heart, Koghun promised that he would go with her to the ends of the world.
+

+
But a glow on the horizon alerted them to an attack on Ayumi’s village. Burilgi had followed Koghun and put the village to the torch. Koghun rushed to help, but it was too late - Ayumi’s tribe were already overwhelmed. The two of them were pinned to the ground while Burilgi stood over them, declaring that Koghun had been infected by a weakness, and that as his ‘Brother’ it was his duty to cut that weakness out. As soon as he spoke the sword, he swung his blade and struck Ayumi’s head from her shoulders.
+

+
Blinded by rage, Koghun fought himself free and plunged his lance into Burilgi, slaying him with such ferocity that the rest of the warband were routed from fear. With tears of grief, Koghun took Ayumi’s necklace, tied it to his left horn and buried her on a grave sprinkled with flowers. Burilgi was left to rot on the ground, the lance still protruding from his chest.

*
The Days in Coerthas

: At age 19, Koghun travels the lands, grieving over the his beloved Aisuru, his family, and even Burilgi his trusted comrade. He become lost in the Coerthas Regions. On the verge of hypothermia, A passing Xaelic caravan saved him from the elements. Koghun was grateful for their intervention but was too sadden of the past events that he hardly spoke and kept to himself. He continued to travel with the caravan, barely earning a living working in the mines and blacksmith in Whitebrim being treated unfairly by some of the residents of Whitebrim. During his time with the caravan he learned about the Orthodox Church, The Temple Knights, The Inquisition, and The Dragonsong War. Over a few months later he eventually began to open up. He made some friends within the caravan and with some miners, unfortunately this moment of peace living will come to an end. One day during an ice storm, Koghun was returning from the mines with a few Ishgardian miners when they were attacked by a roaming Aevis. It killed & devoured all the miners until only Koghun was left standing. He ran fast as he could but could not outrun the beast. The Aevis fell from the sky and slammed into the ground before him. Mere seconds from death, the beast was then struck by a ball of purple energy, stunning the creature. Koghun took this opportunity and ran away. In the white out of the storm, Koghun witnessed a dark figure emerge. A woman holstering a Greatsword on her shoulder, clad in black armor walked towards the Aveis passing him by. Koghun turned around and witnessed the mysterious warrior fighting off the Aevis as Koghun ran to safety. Koghun returned to the caravan and told them of what happened. A Few Days later, an Inquisitorial squad came to Whitebrim, In search of Koghun. Their search would lead them to the Xaela caravan camping just in the outskirts of Whitebrim where Koghun just arrived from hunting. A temple knight addressed the entire camp that they have been charged with the Involvement in the Dark Arts and conspiring with heretics and was sentenced to death. The group of knights un-sheathed their weapons and attacked the camp. Koghun rushed into the camp, spear in hand as he tries to fight off the knights but to no avail. Shouting out "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS, THEY DONE NOTHING, PLEASE STOP!!" But his plea will fall on deaf ears. A mist of all the violence he witnessed the death of some of his friends. Unable to stop it or save anyone, just like with Aisuru and his father. The mere memory of it was enough to ignite Koghun in hellish fiery, slaying three temple knights in the chaos with his lance. Witnessing the Xaela's fury was Grebix Brausin, the young captain of the squad, Second son of the House of Brausin and a skilled Paladin within the Church stepped down from his horse and approached Koghun. He unsheathed his sword and introduced himself but Koghun charged at him without hesitation. Koghun was no match for the skilled knight, Grebix gloated as they fought, easily dodging his attacks. Grebix defeats Koghun, leaving him severely beaten and covered in his own blood. Grébix rolled Koghun onto his back, grabbed and lifted him by Aisuru necklace and glared at him with disdain. Telling him how inferior he was to him and his kind don't deserve to live let alone his mercy. He then ordered the remaining knights to dispose of him and leaves, giving Koghun a distasteful but disappointed stare. Koghun’s laid there, accepting his fate and awaiting his death but fate seems to have other plans. It was the warrior from before. The same woman that fought off the Aevis, Using the same attacks he saw from that day on the knights, the Dark Knight named Alfane saving his life once more.
+
In the coming days, Koghun wandered aimlessly until he arrived in the Coerthas Region. Becoming lost, he crossed paths with a Xaelic caravan who sheltered him from the blizzard. He thanked his rescuers, but did not share the burden they could see was weighing on his heart. He travelled with them to a small town where he earned some money assisting in the mine. From the other miners he learned of the City of Ishgard, the Orthodox Church, the Temple Knights and the Dragonsong War.
She easily defeated the knights and got Koghun to safety. Alfane then tends to Koghun wounds in an abandoned house in Western Coerthas. Once Koghun was well enough to travel, Alfane offered to take him to the town of Tailfeather but he refuses. Koghun wanted justice for the Xaela of the Caravan. He asked Alfane to teach him how to fight like she does. Alfane first refused his requested, but Koghun was persistent, he wouldn't take no for an answer. Alfane seen this and was intrigued so she decided to make him her protégé. In Tailfeather, Alfane trained Koghun in using a great sword and taught him about Dark Knights, using his rage to harness power from the Abyss and use its power. When Alfane was away, Koghun will train with his lance in the Chocobo Forest. During this time, Koghun realized that Alfane was a very eccentric middle aged Elezen. If they weren't training, they often will be in a dinky tavern in Tailfeather. Koghun would sit there keeping to himself and watched his "mentor" get drunk and rabble to anyone, she would often embarrass Koghun as well. Trying to get him to flirt with the women in the tavern. This always resulted in her passing out in the tavern or just outside. At times Koghun couldn't believe that this drunk was the same person who fought off a Aevis or killed those temple knights. As the year passes by Alfane and Koghun grew a mentor-student bond, but Alfane couldn’t help but notice that Koghun still held too much resentment and rage, this concerned her deeply as she fears that his thirst for vengeance could be his undoing. Alfane would later tell Koghun about her bad experiences, hoping that Koghun can learn to let go, she talked about her convictions, to protect the people from those who abuse their authority, From the Orthodox Church. To bring justice to those who think themselves beyond its reach. She also warned Koghun of the dangers that all Dark Knights face, about the war they fight within themselves they carried on through their lifetime but it mattered not to Koghun. There was one thing he wanted most. One day, while on a supply run to Tailfeather, Koghun asked about about the jewel around her neck. She told him that is was the source of her power, The Dark Knight soul crystal. she tells Koghun

Returning from the mines one day, Koghun and his fellows were attacked by a roaming Aevis. Armed only with a pickaxe, Koghun fought back, fleeing with his life and sparing one other miner from being devoured. Yet he could not outrun the beast, nor pierce its hide with his makeshift weapon. When it knocked him to the ground and death seemed certain, the Aevis was stunned by a ball of purple energy. Koghan seized the opportunity and took cover.
'''''Alfane''''' '''"Hmm...well, this crystal houses both aether and all the memories of those who had it before me and I see them as if they were mine. With it, I can fight as they did, using their experiences to become stronger, but there are one wielder's memories that I enjoy seeing from time to time."'''
'''''Koghun''''' '''"And Whose memories are those?"'''

She reluctantly replies in a low spirit tone
'''''Alfane''''' "'''My husband’s... There’s only one way to obtain a soul crystal, and that's through death. Justice and Vengeance share the same dark path young Koghun. No one can tell when their search for justice becomes an tortuous pursuit for revenge and become lost."'''

: At age 20, Koghun has sharpen his lance skills and proficient in handling a great-sword. He soon started to accompany Alfane on her duties. Aiding her in escorting people to the town of Tailfeather or out of Coerthas away from the Inquisition's unfair trials, sentences and the unfair treatment of the Nobles. On one expedition, Alfane and Koghun were escorting a group of accused heretics to TailFeather where they were ambush By Grebix Brausin and his squadron. Steeling themselves for a long and difficult fight they hold their ground while protecting the refugee's retreat. Alfane and Koghun place their backs together as they fight off the temple knights. Grebix joins the fight and split them apart. Koghun charged at Grebix with his lance with battle-fueled rage; Remembering the day the caravan was slaughtered and how easily Grebix beaten him. It send chills down Koghun's spine and fear gain a hold of him. Koghan fought with everything he got, giving a cut on Grebix cheek. Grebix was intimidated by Koghan's attacks and began to fight seriously, Slowing overwhelming Koghan. Grebix left himself open, hoping that Koghan will take the bait. Koghan, out of desperation, fell for Grebix's trap. Grebix dodged Koghun's attack, breaking Koghun's lance with his sword (His Father's lance) and then sliced Koghun's back. Grebix prepared to deliver the final blow, but in the last-minute Alfane jumped in and was stabbed in the chest. Then Grebix shield bashed Alfane back into Koghun, pushing them back. Koghan spotted the point end of his lance and quickly threw it into the Paladin's leg, halting his advancement.

As Aflane laid there dying, she passes on her soul-crystal to Koghun and with her final breath.

''''':Alfane: "Use it... well my friend."
+
As he watched, a dark figure emerged from the swirling blizzard, wielding a claymore and clad in obsidian black armour, and with a strange purple stone around their neck. Koghun watched in amazement as the warrior battled the beast with power the young lancer had never witnessed before.
'''''

Koghun grips the soul-crystal in his hand as he was consumed by wrath and vengeance. The memories of those lost and been taken from him began to flood his mind. He took Alfane’s great-sword and was engulfed with a dark aura. Grebix removed the lance head from his leg and used Clemency to heal his wound. Then he noticed this strange Aura around Koghun and the sword and scoffed,

'''''Grebix''''' "Come then creature of the dark! Know Halone's divine might!"

The two faced off once more, Koghun fought with every amount of strength he had, letting rage and anger fuel him. With every swing infused with dark magic, he brought his unrelenting wrath upon Grebix. The dark magic was too much for Grebix and began to waver over Koghun's newfound strength. The Temple Knights watched in awe and terror as Koghun began to overwhelm their Captain. Koghun then cut off the Paladin's right arm and thrust the great sword straight through Grebix's chest. Grebix then said his final words that will echo through Koghun's mind.

''''':Grebix: "Are you satisfied, c-c-creature? Does i-i-it pain you at all? Being surrounded by d-death. Anyone can see... that your life is littered with bodies...of both friend and Foe. Her...and I... are just another... added to your pile. You kill... y-y-yet you avenge.... nothing... No one. You are no different than the beasts we fight or the heathens we chase down, May the rest of your days be... tortuous and... Unforgiving!"
+
Using the distraction to escape back to town, Koghun related the events to his caravan fellows who hastily advised him to keep quiet about it. It seemed that a number of sinister events in the past few days had attracted the attention of the Inquisition, and Koghun was advised that it was best not to draw any undue attention.
'''''

Koghun then rips the great-sword from Grebix body out to the side, slicing through his body. The temple knights fled in terror at the sight of their dead captain. Koghun then falls to his knees exhausted and in pain. Placing the great-sword in the ground in front of him and resting his head on the Pommel. The refugees made it to safety but felt only defeat for Alfane lied there in the crimson snow along with other dead. He knelled there in the blistering cold, grieving in silence, He then noticed the great-sword and himself covered by a blood red aura. Koghun has become a Dark Knight but was not proud that it came at a price.

*
The Path

:Koghun roamed The Coerthas Western Highlands alone in grief, blaming himself for his master's death, his friends in the caravan, Aisuru, and his father.
+
Over the coming days, the Inquision - led by young Knight called Grébix Brausin - conducted an investigation that led to one of Koghun’s fellow caravaners being accused of murder and practicing the dark arts.
As the months pass the mourning dark knight continues with his mentor's work, protecting people from power drunk murderers of the Inquisition but the people he protected were distress by his fearsome reputation that Koghun never got any gratitude like Alfane did. His despair began to weigh heavily as the words of the dying Paladin and Burilgi began haunts his fragile mind. Not just them, but also of all those he lost in the past. He begins to fall deeper and deeper into despair and regret as he re-lives those horrifying memories in night terrors. He would often fight Mylodons, Yetis and other beasts that he found while wandering in the wilderness. Using them to sharpen his skills as a Dark Knight, but also served another purpose. To find solace from the voices in his head. Soon after they began to manifest into illusions of Burilgi, consistently taunting him and his ways. Rumors reach Koghun that Grebix and some other knights were killed by a voidsent while pursuing heretics. He heard nothing about him or his mentor, maybe the Inquisition has reported them dead to avoid embarrassment and to hide their failure. One night during a snowstorm, He stumble across footprints in the snow that lead him to a middle aged Elezen man, surrounded by some ruffians. Koghun saved the man from the men and lead him back to his town. The middle-aged Elezen was grateful for Koghun's intervention but Koghun wouldn't respond. Recognizing the black armor and Greatsword, the man asked if Koghun was the mysterious knight he heard stories of recently. Koghun nodded to the man's accusation. The man was relieved and pleased for Koghun to aid him in taking his family out of Coerthas. He told his story about his troubles with the landlord, A noble. Koghun first refused the man's plea, the man went on to tell that he was taking all they had as payment then demanded for his daughter hand but the man refused him, the noble threatening them with imprisonment and death. He went on to tell Koghun that the man has men high up in the Inquisition and feared that the noble will make good on his threat, he also told him that the men he defeated were hired by the noble. The man fell to his knees and begged Koghun at his feet to at least take his daughter away. Koghun stood there unmoved but then remembered the time he plead Alfane to make him a Dark Knight. He remembered her conviction, and she never forsaken anyone in need. Koghun then placed his hand on the weeping man's shoulder and accepted the man's plea.

'''''Koghun''''' "Every well, I'll be back 2 days’ time. Have your family prepared and tell no one of this. No payment is needed."

The man wept in happiness and they continued on to town. Outside of his home, the man wanted to show his gratitude and invited Koghun to stay the night, but he turns down the kind man's invitation. The man then asks him for his name. It was there Koghun gave him the name of one of the Ishgardian miners he once worked with. To hide his own identity.
+
Koghun knew little of these things, which made it easy for the accused party to shift the blame onto him. Koghun was accused, dragged out and beaten. Nobody spoke a word in his defense. Grébix delayed his sentence until he could be taken to Ishgard. Koghun had heard that Grébix was known for his merciless pursuit of all whom he regarded as heretical. So on the way, he attempted to escape, retrieving his lance and slaying two of Grébix’s knights.

'''Koghun: "...Sebastian"'''
+
But Koghun did not get far before Grébix caught up to him and easily brought him to the ground. Furious that Koghun had repaid his ‘mercy’ with the deaths of his men, Grébix was about to commit Koghun to hell when he was struck by a familiar orb of purple energy.

Then man's family comes out, hugging him and giving thanks to Halone for his safe return. The man told them that Sebastian saved him but when he turned around, Sebastian wasn't anywhere in sight. Sebastian watched from a distance as the family had their tender moment. This showed why his mentor fought and why he needed to continue in her place. 2 days later Sebastian returns to the same town and noticed a gathering. It was a hanging, among them was the same man from 2 nights ago and his family standing on the gallows. A group of temple knights surround the accused as a Ishgardian priest read the charges with a well-dressed Elezen man beside him, The Noblemen. Sebastian watched at the edge of the crowd and become to move through unnoticed as the bishop finished and gave the order to execute. Before the executor can pull the lever, a ball of dark magic ran through the nooses, freeing the prisoners. The crowd and The Temple Knights turned to saw Sebastian at the end of the gallows. He drew his sword, the point of the blade hit the floor with a loud thump and the blade becomes engulfed in a dark aura that crept onto Sebastian emitting a dark red aura around him. The noblemen shouted orders to kill him, The crowd disburse as the fighting begins. Sebastian has gotten stronger since the night of his mentor death and so he easily cut down every knight that came at him, then turned to the Ishgardian Priest.
+
The same dark figure who had saved him from the Aevis strode out of the storm, readying her claymore and charging at Grébix. After a ferocious battle, Grébix was driven off and the warrior took Koghun to an abandoned house in Western Coerthas, where she tended to his wounds.

''''':Ishgardian Priest: "Those who would use Dark Magic don't deserve Halone's divine mercy, so show it none men, Kill this Vile creature in the name of his Holiness!!"
+
He learned that his rescuer was a Dark Knight named Alfane. She was outraged by Koghun’s account of what had happened to him. Seeing that he owed Alfane his life, Koghun pledged his service to her. She assured him that no such repayment was necessary. Yet when he insisted, she invited him to spar with her as a test. She was a powerful fighter and bested Koghun with relative ease, yet she was impressed with the promise he showed. She told him that she was going to Tail Feather, and that he could accompany her if he so wished.
'''''

Sebastian shouted at the middle-aged man to take his family and run. The knights rushed him all at once, But in the end they were no match for Sebastian Even with numbers on their side. He drove his sword into the floor, a dark substance around him and the knights then quickly harden. Then sharp spikes shot up around Sebastian, impaling anyone standing in the dark substance. In the sight of all this slaughter the Noblemen and bishop ran off. Sebastian focus his attention the two, using a Unmend to shoot down the priest in the back leaving only the Noblemen. The Noblemen panicked unsheathed his sword and charged at Sebastian. Sebastian punched the Noblemen, knocked him to the ground. The Noblemen began to crawl away until Sebastian slashed his shoulder. The Noblemen began to curse at Sebastian, barraging him with insults. He then rolled on his back and witnessed Sebastian standing over him. He begged and promised him with amnesty and riches but to no avail. He gave his final words hoping to prolong the inevitable.

'''''Injured Noblemen''''' "I-I-If you kill me, Y-Y-You will be hunted down like a dog. YOU WOULDN'T LEAVE COERTHAS ALIVE!!"
+
On the road, Alfane continued to hone Koghun’s skills through sparring matches and exercises. He came to know her as a kind woman who rendered aid to the people of Tail Feather and provided Koghun with the first role model since his father.
'''''Injured Noblemen''''' "P-p-p-please! Have mercy!"

Sebastian impaled the Noblemen with his sword over and over again, releasing that he had held in over the years. His wrath, his torment, and his anger. When he finally stopped, he noticed the townspeople expression of horror on their faces, they were terrified by the sight of dead knights that surrounded the black armored Xeala. As he begins to walk out of the town, the people run in terror from him. Saying things like
+
Yet it was in their leisure moments, when Alfane would try to get Koghun to loosen up a bit in the tavern in Feather Tail, that she really saw the bitterness and resentment that was seated deeply in the young man’s heart. For all her asking, Koghun would not open up about this, so she attempted to draw the darkness out of him through training.
'' ''':"It's a demon! Stay away from it!. Hide the children!!, Monster!!, Its gonna kill us all, someone get the Temple Knights here!!"'''
+

''
+
Eventually, Koghun relented and told her everything. To his surprise, Alfane empathised, divulging that she had lost her son and husband to Grébix and she was all too familiar with the smothering rage that can consume a person when they lose people they love.
In that moment he thought to himself on how can they call him murderer, monster and demon if they all stood there and watch a entire family about to be hung, He would disappear into the darkness. Till this day, the people of Ishgard were convince that it was a Void-sent that attacked the town and Sebastian will be referred as "The Void-Sent Knight". Some people are convinced that its all a hoax. Following the events that brought the end of The Dragonsong War, No one has seen him since that day but a high bounty has been placed for his capture. His whereabouts are unknown and It's unclear whether or not if he's still alive. Sebastian and the events has fallen into rumors and scary folks tales as Sebastian continues to wander the lands of Ezorea.
+

+
The two became close after that. Alfane began to teach him the ways of the Dark Knight, their history, and their methods and, of course, their fighting techniques. He asked about the stone she wore around her neck. She explained that this was a soulstone, with which she was able to hold the aether and experience of those who had worn it before her, as well as memories that brought her joy from time to time. The memories she was referring to were those of the stone’s most recent owner - her husband. She had been bequeathed the stone upon his death, and she admitted this was why she wanted to help Koghun.
+

+
Justice and Vengeance, she explained, are cousins often mistaken for each other, but with very little in common. Anger left unchecked can destroy a person...as it had done to Alfane’s husband.
+

+
Koghun’s first test in this regard came when he and Alfane were asked for help in leaving Coerthas. The people asking were from the same caravan that had given Koghun over to Grébix. At first, Koghun adamantly refused, but he saw that Alfane was testing him and relented. After simmering for the first day of travel, he almost came to blows with the father of the group. Yet because he took the time to listen, he came to understand that the man was simply protecting his family, and had not meant Koghun any ill-will. Koghun felt his heart soften, as he could well understand the sentiment.
+

+
In the last stretch of the journey, they were set upon by an adolescent Mylodon. Koghun and Alfane fought it off, saving the family of travellers and, for the first time in a long time, Koghun felt the light and satisfaction of having done a good thing enter his heart. Alfane’s smile assured him that her training was having the desired effect.
+

+
For another year, Koghun accompanied Alfane in her duties, helping those in need and escorting refugees out of Coerthas. But the past caught up with them. One refugee they helped had given information to the inquisition in exchange for the absolution of sins. Their caravan was set upon by none other than Grébix and his knights.
+

+
Having increased in skill, Koghun attempted to take Grébix on, but the man was still his superior in power. He broke Koghun’s lance and knocked him down. Alfane stunned Grébix and drew the man away. The moment went into suspension as Grébix ordered his men to stay back so that he could fight Alfane one on one. Koghun used the time to get back to his feet, but just as he recovered, Grébix landed a critical blow upon Alfane.
+

+
Koghun cried out and threw the tip of his lance, striking Grébix in the leg. Alfane immediately commanded Koghun to run, but he disobeyed, rushing to her side. But Alfane insisted that he needed to leave while she held the Inquisition knights off. She pressed her soulstone into his hand and insisted that she would be right behind him.
+

+
He could not disobey his mentor further. Koghun ran whilst Grébix and his knights descended upon Alfane. When the dust settled and Alfane did not emerge, Koghun looked at the stone in his hand and remembered something she had told him - a soulstone can only be bequeathed on the death of its last owner. He hurried back to look for her and found Alfane lying dead among the bodies of the caravan.
+

+
A fresh grief overtook Koghun, the scenes of his father’s death returning to him in light of the present tragedy. He buried his mentor and swore that he would continue her work and one day avenge her.
+

+
*
The Chosen Path

+

+
Months passed and the grieved knight continued in his mentor’s place, assisting those who requested help from abusive nobled and the inquisition. But his intervention was half hearted, bereft of faith that he could do any good if he had been unable to protect so many he held dear.
+

+
Against the beasts of Coerthas he honed his skills with a claymore, never quite able to equal the abilities of Alfane. He attempted to connect with the soulstone, but it mocked him with faint, indiscernible whispers, refusing to unlock its power for him.
+

+
Increasingly infuriated, Koghun began to doubt what he’d been told about the stone. In a red mist of rage, he cast the stone into a ravine. As he did, the stone began to glow red and an entity manifested in front of him, taking the form of Burilgi.
+

+
This entity explained that to unlock the powers of the stone, he must surrender to the darkness in him - the same darkness Alfane warned him about. The Esteem assured him that it had been watching over him for a long time, observing his pain, and that the thing which had been holding him back was his desire to help the weak and undeserving. It was time for him to embrace his rage and his pain, and that doing so would propel his abilities even beyond those of his mentor.
+

+
Unable to resist anymore, Koghun accepted the promise. The Esteem surrounded him with a crimson fog, warning him that his heart must remain hard, for if it were ever to soften, it would be his ruin.
+

+
By this time, stories abound about Grébix’s heroic victory over the dark-magic-wielding heathen all throughout Coerthas. Koghun heard these and swelled with a desire for vengeance. He struck out to find an opportunity to strike back, and found it when he crossed paths with an Elezen man who was being threatened by a noble who had demanded the man’s daughter’s hand in marriage. When the man mentioned that this noble was of the Brausin household, he recognised the family name of Grébix. It was this, rather than the man’s tears and please, that convinced him to assist. When the man asked for Koghun’s name, he gave the name ‘Sebastian’ to conceal his identity.
+

+
‘Sebastian’ withdrew for two days, watching the situation to see what would happen. Then, without warning, the Inquisition descended upon the town and erected a gallows. The Elezen man and his family had been accused of heresy; charged trumped up by the slighted nobleman, just as the Elezen man had feared.
+

+
But Sebastian did not rush in to help. He kept his distance and watched for Grébix, concerned not with the lives of the family about to hang but about his own opportunity for revenge.
+

+
Yet when Grébix did not immediately make an appearance, Sebastian decided to draw him out. He charged the knights at the gallows and struck the first one down. A dark red aura overtook him as he circled the gallows, shouting Grébix’s name.
+

+
Fighting erupted throughout the square. Sebastian slew two more knights before Grébix appeared, recognising the Dark Knight and signalling his men to attack. Sebastian, drawing on the power of the soulstone, performed ‘Unleash’ and impaled the rushing knights.
+

+
Grébix taunted Sebastian, proclaiming that this was his opportunity to rectify the mistake of sparing the Dark Knight’s life all those years ago - that he would strike him down into the Abyss with his heretical mentor.
+

+
The ensuing battle was fierce and terrifying to behold. With every swing of his weapon, Sebastian unleashed his rage and bitterness. It was enough to overcome Grébix, and Sebastian sliced the Paladin’s arm clean off before running his claymore through his enemy’s chest.
+

+
With his dying breath, Grébix begged the forgiveness of his loved ones. Pulling his weapon from the Paladin’s chest, Sebastian looked up to see the nobleman who had accused the family making a retreat. Sebastian went after him, striking him down with an ‘Unmend’ and then bearing down on him in a terrible fury. The nobleman spewed insults at him, incredulous that a heretic would dare lay a hand on him. Sebastian answered him by bringing his heavy blade down on the man repeatedly until the nobleman’s corpse was barely recognizable as a man.
+

+
The whole time, the people of the town looked on in horror. When the red mist cleared, Sebastian looked up to see that the family who had asked for his help were hanging dead from the gallows. Bodies were strewn about the town square. People in the crowd shouted warning to each other - saying that he was a demon, a monster, that he would slay everyone who came too close.
+

+
It was in that moment that he remembered what Alfane had told him about the difference between justice and vengeance, and he saw which side of that divide he had fallen on. Hanging his head, he strode out of town, the people scattering out of his path.
+

+
To this very day, the people of that Coerthan town tell of a “Void-sent Knight” who attacked their town and slaughtered so many while innocents hung.
+

+
Since the end of the Dragonsong War, the only sightings of Sebastian have been pictures on bounty notices. The stories of the Void-sent Knight became legends, and there were those who believed they were not even based in truth. Grébix was immortalised as a valiant knight slain by a heretical villain.
+

+
Sebastian, in truth, travels the land of Erozea, selling his services as a mercenary to anyone with the coin to buy them.
+
Following the events that brought the end of The Dragonsong War, No one has seen him since but a high bounty has been placed for his capture. Eventually Sebastian and the events that transpired fell into stories. Grébix, the valiant knight, killed by a foul man known as The Voidsent Knight. He's currently traveling around the land of Erozea, taking on mercenary work of all kind.

Biography

 • Life In the Azim Steppe

Sebastian’s life began as a swaddled child only a month old, abandoned in the Azim wilderness. He was found by a huntsman of the Qerel tribe, and picked up before the beasts of the steppe could get to the baby. The hunter’s name was Barachin, and he was puzzled, recognising the child to be of the Borlaaq tribe who were known to cut their children loose early, but usually after a year, not just a month.

At the age of fourteen, Koghun and some of his peers undertook the Qerel rite of passage - to kill their first steppe tiger. His family was there to send him off with words of encouragement and assurances that he would always belong to the Qerel tribe in their eyes no matter what.

After five days - the usual length of the trial - all of the new hunters had returned except for Koghun. Many of the tribespeople speculated that Koghun had fallen foul of the beasts, and that Barachin had only delayed this fate by bringing him into the tribe.

In truth, Koghun had indeed encountered a tiger on the fourth night of the trial. Though intimidated by the size of it, he found the resolve to confront it, unleashing a war cry to match the tiger’s mighty roar. He prevailed, and returned to the tribe - late, but triumphant.

 • The Days in Coerthas

In the coming days, Koghun wandered aimlessly until he arrived in the Coerthas Region. Becoming lost, he crossed paths with a Xaelic caravan who sheltered him from the blizzard. He thanked his rescuers, but did not share the burden they could see was weighing on his heart. He travelled with them to a small town where he earned some money assisting in the mine. From the other miners he learned of the City of Ishgard, the Orthodox Church, the Temple Knights and the Dragonsong War.

As he watched, a dark figure emerged from the swirling blizzard, wielding a claymore and clad in obsidian black armour, and with a strange purple stone around their neck. Koghun watched in amazement as the warrior battled the beast with power the young lancer had never witnessed before.

Using the distraction to escape back to town, Koghun related the events to his caravan fellows who hastily advised him to keep quiet about it. It seemed that a number of sinister events in the past few days had attracted the attention of the Inquisition, and Koghun was advised that it was best not to draw any undue attention.

Over the coming days, the Inquision - led by young Knight called Grébix Brausin - conducted an investigation that led to one of Koghun’s fellow caravaners being accused of murder and practicing the dark arts.

But Koghun did not get far before Grébix caught up to him and easily brought him to the ground. Furious that Koghun had repaid his ‘mercy’ with the deaths of his men, Grébix was about to commit Koghun to hell when he was struck by a familiar orb of purple energy.

The same dark figure who had saved him from the Aevis strode out of the storm, readying her claymore and charging at Grébix. After a ferocious battle, Grébix was driven off and the warrior took Koghun to an abandoned house in Western Coerthas, where she tended to his wounds.

On the road, Alfane continued to hone Koghun’s skills through sparring matches and exercises. He came to know her as a kind woman who rendered aid to the people of Tail Feather and provided Koghun with the first role model since his father.

Eventually, Koghun relented and told her everything. To his surprise, Alfane empathised, divulging that she had lost her son and husband to Grébix and she was all too familiar with the smothering rage that can consume a person when they lose people they love.

Justice and Vengeance, she explained, are cousins often mistaken for each other, but with very little in common. Anger left unchecked can destroy a person...as it had done to Alfane’s husband.

A fresh grief overtook Koghun, the scenes of his father’s death returning to him in light of the present tragedy. He buried his mentor and swore that he would continue her work and one day avenge her.

 • The Chosen Path

Months passed and the grieved knight continued in his mentor’s place, assisting those who requested help from abusive nobled and the inquisition. But his intervention was half hearted, bereft of faith that he could do any good if he had been unable to protect so many he held dear.

Against the beasts of Coerthas he honed his skills with a claymore, never quite able to equal the abilities of Alfane. He attempted to connect with the soulstone, but it mocked him with faint, indiscernible whispers, refusing to unlock its power for him.

Increasingly infuriated, Koghun began to doubt what he’d been told about the stone. In a red mist of rage, he cast the stone into a ravine. As he did, the stone began to glow red and an entity manifested in front of him, taking the form of Burilgi.

Unable to resist anymore, Koghun accepted the promise. The Esteem surrounded him with a crimson fog, warning him that his heart must remain hard, for if it were ever to soften, it would be his ruin.

But Sebastian did not rush in to help. He kept his distance and watched for Grébix, concerned not with the lives of the family about to hang but about his own opportunity for revenge.

Yet when Grébix did not immediately make an appearance, Sebastian decided to draw him out. He charged the knights at the gallows and struck the first one down. A dark red aura overtook him as he circled the gallows, shouting Grébix’s name.

Fighting erupted throughout the square. Sebastian slew two more knights before Grébix appeared, recognising the Dark Knight and signalling his men to attack. Sebastian, drawing on the power of the soulstone, performed ‘Unleash’ and impaled the rushing knights.

Grébix taunted Sebastian, proclaiming that this was his opportunity to rectify the mistake of sparing the Dark Knight’s life all those years ago - that he would strike him down into the Abyss with his heretical mentor.

The ensuing battle was fierce and terrifying to behold. With every swing of his weapon, Sebastian unleashed his rage and bitterness. It was enough to overcome Grébix, and Sebastian sliced the Paladin’s arm clean off before running his claymore through his enemy’s chest.

It was in that moment that he remembered what Alfane had told him about the difference between justice and vengeance, and he saw which side of that divide he had fallen on. Hanging his head, he strode out of town, the people scattering out of his path.

To this very day, the people of that Coerthan town tell of a “Void-sent Knight” who attacked their town and slaughtered so many while innocents hung.

Since the end of the Dragonsong War, the only sightings of Sebastian have been pictures on bounty notices. The stories of the Void-sent Knight became legends, and there were those who believed they were not even based in truth. Grébix was immortalised as a valiant knight slain by a heretical villain.

Sebastian, in truth, travels the land of Erozea, selling his services as a mercenary to anyone with the coin to buy them.
