General Info

Like most other members of her clan, Suvdkhi (pronounced /suuvdkey/) Qestir does not speak. Although this originally stemmed from her tribe's beliefs that all words are lies, and that a man's actions are the purest form of communication; at this point, she is simply unable to make the requisite sounds. Even though one of her relatives, Miynmekh, refuses to read and write, Suvdkhi, like many of their other shared relatives, will happily do so. Her spelling and grammar can be questionable at times.

Appearance

Measuring in at 4'8.5" (the .5" is important, she'll have you know!), Suvdkhi is roughly the same height as Miyn, despite the age difference, and it is probable that she will grow taller than her elder given time (and proper nutrition, which sweets are not). Like the majority of their family members, she also has the same mismatched eyes of blue and black. Other noticeable shared features include a lack of limbal rings and a smattering of brilliant white freckles splashed across her face. Unlike her other relatives, Suvdkhi's hair is neither white nor blue, but instead a deep shade of black.

Even though she spends a large portion of her time in either La Noscea or Thanalan, Suvdkhi generally wears long pants and skirts along with long sleeves. This is, incidentally, not due to her scales but instead because she has found that due to her age, Eorzeans tend to frown upon the heaping of bruises and scrapes she acquires while training and/or hunting. Most of her clothes are provided and/or picked out by Miynmekh, though she appears to have few complaints about them in terms of style.

Temperament

Nigh-perpetually cheerful and agreeable, it is difficult for one to find themselves on Suvdkhi's bad side and rarer still to remain there. The teenager is happiest when those around her are happy and has been known to go out of her way to facilitate this, even at her own expense. Although naturally trusting and easily approachable, an encounter with the Brass Blades and their gaol system damaged this inherent trust, which was further shaken when she learned that the person responsible was a close personal friend of her aunt's. Due to this, she is wary and skittish around all non-tribal Xaela and avoids the city-proper areas unless traveling with someone capable whom she has a strong bond with.

Having only been in Eorzea for a few moons, Suvdkhi still struggles with some of the customs and practices that are commonplace to Eorzea. Because of this, she defaults to polite and respectful behavior around most adults. Amongst her fellow kin-brothers and sisters, however, she may be noted to have a bit of a mischievous streak as she has a far better understanding of the cultural rules that govern the interactions of her people, even if she is somewhat ignorant of some of the quirks and bad blood of many of the other tribes. With either Eorzean or Steppe-born, she is still quick to apologize should she speak out of turn or otherwise upset her elders, the one glaring exception being those who mistreat her friends and family.

Like her aunt, Miynmekh Qestir, she is also a terrible liar; unlike her aunt, she does not use the trademark Qestiri face mask to disguise this fact. Because she does not wear the traditional face mask, it is also extremely obvious when she becomes embarrassed by conversations concerning sexual topics. Thankfully, most euphemisms go right over her head.

Combat Style

Suvdkhi is horribly near-sighted and thus prefers close range combat. Unlike the other members of her family, she has little and less affinity for the aetherial arts, with the distinct exception of the earth aether manipulation that is a hallmark of her family line. Other than this trademark talent, she shows strong similarities in style to siblings Yisutei and Dashun Dotharl.

For sparring and duels, she prefers to use her fists, typically enhanced with earth aether to both cushion her blows for herself and strengthen the force of such on her opponents. While hunting, however, she favors the lance. Her attempts at studying arcanima have gone poorly despite her intelligence due to her lack of aetherial reserves, culminating in the odd result that she can only maintain the Topaz carbuncle summon for any period of time. Between this and the "cowardice" of her carbuncle, she has all but given up on the field and prefers to rely on the areas where she most excels.

Relationships

Family & NPCs
Grandparents
Ajinai Qestir: Suvdkhi's grandmother. A taciturn woman with a talent for weaving who specialized in woven fabrics. (Mama)
Tömörbataar Qestir: Suvdkhi's other grandmother. A fierce woman who trained Miyn in the bow. (Mama)
Khogaghchin Qestir: Suvdkhi's grandfather. Was often away traveling throughout the Steppe or Doma. Suvdkhi affectionately refers to him as "Papa" in the same fashion as her aunts and uncles. (Papa)
Parents
Eke Qestir: Suvdkhi's mother and the oldest female child of Mekh's younger siblings. Passed away in an accident when Suvdkhi was around 4-6 years old. (Mama)
Extended Family
Jaliqai Qestir: Technically the second eldest of Suvdkhi's aunts and uncles, though her only blood uncle as far as she is aware. Although he was close to her Aunt Miynmekh, Jali and Suvdkhi were not particularly close.
Samga: The "Chosen" of Suvdkhi's Uncle Jali.
Miynmekh Qestir: The eldest of Suvdkhi's aunts, Mekh is unusually protective of the girl, though not above sending her off for hunting or training tasks that might appear dangerous to the Eorzean eye. (Note: Most people are under the impression that Suvdkhi is Mekh's sister, not her niece.) (Miyn)
Tsenxer Qestir: The second youngest of Suvdkhi's aunts; she was close with both Suvdkhi and her mother until the latter's death.
Cirina Qestir: The youngest of Suvdkhi's aunts.
Others
Dashun Dotharl: Hot-headed and impulsive, Dash was a close personal friend of her Aunt Miyn and thus a frequent staple in the girl's early life. Despite a lack of relation, the two of them were extremely close, especially after Miynmekh left the Steppe. Suvdkhi views him as a father figure. As Dash began training the girl much earlier than was normally done in Suvdkhi's family, her favored weapon and hunting style were strongly influenced by the Dotharl. (Dash)
Wakiko Nagae: Also known as "Wako." Mekh's roommate and acquaintance who looks after their house. Can usually be found upstairs in her room reading. (BookRaen)
Dusk
Irtei Buduga: Persistently unbothered by Irtei's insults and language, Suvdkhi has no qualms about forcing herself into Irtei's company. Though she harbors no illusions that he gives two figs about her well-being, she views his volatile and rude behavior as an easy way to avoid dealing with Eorzean strangers, who are often understandably reluctant to approach the male. She may or may not also find him fun to tease, even when the end results are painful. (The Black One)
Muuno Buduga: Undeterred by the crude language, harsh insults and coarse treatment, Suvdkhi enjoys Muuno's company and actively seeks him out. Unlike with Batz or Irtei, she clearly defers to the older male, and the two appear to have an amicable relationship. Owns The Green Banner. (The Yellow One)
Yisutei Dotharl: Dash's younger sister and a good friend/mentor figure to Suvdkhi. They frequently spar together, much to the dismay of any Eorzeans who happen to stumble across their matches. (Yisu)
Yesui Himaa: A somewhat-rehabilitated alcoholic who Suvdkhi initially met when she joined the Free Company Mhaq was a part of and then subsequently grew friendly with on her own. Recently unintentionally triggered some unhappy memories for Suvdkhi.
Miira Kagon: An overly protective Xaela with a drinking problem. Frequently found in the company of one or the other of the Buduga brothers though she's always unhappy to find Suvdkhi in their company. (DrunkScold)
Batzorig Kahkol: A Xaelan warrior taken in by the Kahkol who is working towards uniting members of the clan living in Eorzea in hopes of resolving issues pertaining to the Steppe. Accidentally adopted Suvdkhi due to her burgeoning friendship with Eke Kahkol. Despite the age difference, he treats Suvdkhi as a peer. As such, she will (and has) spoken out on matters she disagrees with him on. (Batz, Papa Batz)
Eke Kahkol: A young Xaelan shaman-in-training who accompanies Batzorig, she and Eke hit it off nigh immediately upon meeting, striking deliciously sweet cavities in the hearts of Eorzeans everywhere through their uncanny tendency to respond simultaneously identically. Unfortunately, however, Eke has since returned home to the Steppe after completing her trail.
Miynmekh's Colleagues
Zansei Asano: A Raen who seems to always accompany Haruka, Suvdkhi finds him to be both unnerving and perpetually grumpily scolding of her any time they meet. On the other hand, she also thinks it amusing that he always wears a dress. (GrumpRaen)
Thya Burwani: A close ally of Miyn's who hails from the Shroud. Due to the woman's tribal upbringing and closeness with Miyn, Suvdkhi nigh-explicitly trusts the miqo'te female. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the miqo'te treats Suvdkhi in much the same way as most Steppe-born Xaela.
Haruka Suijin: A reserved, quiet Raen who has taken an interest in Suvdkhi lately. Almost always accompanied by a grumpy male Raen.
Claisent Vaucotier: An elezen acquaintance of Miyn and Haruka who said some less than favorable things about Irtei and Muuno in front of Suvdkhi.
Others
Astrid Byrde: A Xaela in Hyur skin, Suvdkhi looks up to and respects her "big sis." In her eyes, there is little the young woman can do that is wrong. Surprisingly enough, their burgeoning relationship was seemingly not affected by Astrid's spontaneous departure for several months, both falling easily back into the familiar dynamic. (Astrid)
Trachius Dreher: A mostly silent Hyur whom Suvdkhi has decided is her friend. This may or may not be largely influenced by the knowledge that she can out-run him should he prove to be dangerous. Mostly though, she is intrigued by his lack of speech. (FakeMute)
Briardien Miraudont: Formerly a frequent supplier of food and fatherly advice, Suvdkhi recently spoke with the elezen again for the first time in months (due in part to Suvdkhi's lack of frequent patronage to the Lynx in favor of spending time with Batzorig and R'Mhaq and in part to Briar's preoccupation with work, family and nearly dying). Unlike her happy reunion with Astrid, the subsequent meeting with Astrid, Briar and his Chosen left Suvdkhi feeling both awkward and intrusive. (Briar)
Kira Moravvi: Thya's Chosen. Usually accompanied by her Emerald carbuncle, "Emmy," whom Suvdkhi has formed a close bond (based predominantly on the quality of ear scritches the girl provides) with, the blue-haired miqo'te is a frequent source of both food and companionship for the teenaged bottomless pit of a Qestir. (BuncCat)
Va'zes Nunh: Perhaps the only person in existence to have earned Suvdkhi's perpetual ire. One need look no further than his repeated poor treatment of his subordinates (including several of her friends), to understand why. (BullyCat)
Kallius Thr'gant: A Brass Blade who had Suvdkhi arrested, yet was also a friend of her aunt's. While Suvdkhi's fairly certain he doesn't hate her now--after all, he fed her and left her unharmed--her newfound issues with StrangerDanger stemming from the Hyur's past actions have left her wary. (Coweus)
R'mhaq Tia: Astrid's ex and a miqo'te Suvdkhi befriended before the issues with StrangerDanger. Alternates between being competent and a bad influence versus incompetent and a good influence. After his departure from Howl, Suvdkhi talked Batz into letting Mhaq stay at Dusk until he was back on his feet; during which time, the two grew to be better friends. Mhaq has occasionally referred to Suvdkhi as his "sister," a title the Xaela teen is only too happy to accept. (NiceCat, Mhaq)
