Lieutenant Brook "Do not mistake my composure for tolerance" | [ Under Construction ] About
His sun-soaked age is creeping into the lines at the corner of his malachite eyes, though his keen gaze remains clear. Standing on the shorter side for a Midlander sees him often controlling his unkempt blond hair with a headband or hat, so the bangs don't fall into his eyes when looking up to address taller folks. Though he has graduated to an officer position, he has not lost the sharp edge and athletic body of a quick-thinking mariner, throwing a punch as easily as he can throw a smirk through the barely-neat mustache and short beard he supports. Scars & Markings: A working life has left the Hyur with plenty of scars, though the only ones he shows are those that mar his face: a sharp thin horizontal slice across the bridge of his nose, and the harsher gash that angles down his right cheek. The sailor is tattooed, and has seen to have a constellation wrapping around one of his shoulders, and a curious abstract nautilus shell on his foot. Voice: His voice is presented as soft, and so when it becomes cold and harsh the crew know that someone has pushed the calm lieutenant into anger. In public he speaks with a Limsan accent with a grating undercurrent (think Toby Stephens's Captain Flint in Black Sails). When in a more private setting, or when he's speaking softly to certain crew mates, his accent falls into a smooth foreign tongue (Spanish, close to Diego Luna's Cassian Andor in Rogue One) Clothing: When out of the officer's uniform, his garments of choice are light leathers, leaning towards the darker blues, greens, and reds, or going straight to black. Knee-high boots usually complete the outfit. It requires a special set of circumstances for him to be seen without the long leather bracers that adorn his forearms, leaving his fingers bare so he may conduct his work without removing them, and the black leather choker that protects his neck.
At a first meeting the officer comes across as friendly, quick to laugh, and painfully honest. If the situation cannot be joked over, there is a kind word or kinder act employed to smooth the ruffled sea. When observed while undertaking his duties, he is curt, defensive, and hasty to address any threats to his and his own. Among the closest of friends, he shows sincerity and softness, guard only falling around a comfortable few.
