center [edit] Details Personality Skills and Weaponry Relationships ♍ PROFILE ♍ A child of Dalmasca, Yedythe had a harsh childhood on the streets of Rabanastre. Her father having died in the defense of Nalbina Fortress, and her mother having given into illness a few years after, Yedythe lived in alleyways and sewers as needed. The wartorn city's sudden surplus of orphans left her with few other places to seek shelter. Seeking a better life, she joined the Garlean army, the only rulers she had ever known, as soon as she was able. Assigned to the XIVth, most of her time in the army was spent in and around Ala Mhigo. Her natural talent with magic, and her willingness to obey orders, saw her promoted to the rank of Decurion. The events that led up to her desertion of Garlemald are a story best left for another time. Yedythe now spends most of her time working as a common adventurer around Eorzea, unable or unwilling to return to her home country for reasons that she dances around admitting. She has a habit of visiting various mystical and religious sites around the realm. It isn't unusual to find her sitting outside Stillglade Fane or the Arrzaneth Ossuary, simply watching and listening. That is, when she isn't diving into her cups at whatever tavern catches her fancy that day. ♋ APPEARANCE ♋ Because of her war-oriented demeanor, toned muscles, and... 'well endowed' physique, it wouldn't be unusual to assume Yedythe to be a Highlander at first glance. She is, however, a genuine daughter of Dalmasca. Her skin is just slightly tanned, but oddly pale considering the place of her birth and her service in Ala Mhigo's harsh sun. Yedythe isn't the least bit shy, and her choice of wardrobe is an indicator of such. When not suited for battle, and sometimes even then, she enjoys dressing in a manner that emphasizes her already enormous breasts. ♌ PERSONALITY ♌ Yedythe is extremely upbeat and casual, a quality usually magnified by a lack of sobriety. There is hardly a moment where the woman isn't seeking out some manner of worldly pleasure, whether that be spirits or something more carnal. There's rarely any indication as to whether her flirting is meant to be a serious advance or just for playful fun, although it's possible there is no difference. Despite her jovial personality, if one catches Yedythe alone, they may catch her staring into empty space with tired, empty eyes. In battle, and in more professional situations, Yedythe does become a model soldier. Her speech is short, confidant, and demanding. As a Decurion for many years, she is comfortable leading others, and will do what is necessary to keep those under her command safe. While the lives of her people are her priority, the lives of her enemies are worth less than dirt to her. Until solitude finds her, at least. ♒ Magic ♒ Perhaps the skill Yedythe considers her most valuable. She was talented in magic from a very young age, something that saw her through many challenging days both as an orphan living on the streets and as a soldier. She has, however, neglected to truly nurture this talent, leaving her spells sometimes weaker than she might wish. This lack of power is made up for with the creative methods in which she employs her magicks. ♊ Cermet Blade and Lantern Shield ♊ A standard sword and shield issued to Garlean infantry. What the sword lacks in power, it makes up for in dependability. Yedythe rarely uses the blade, fearing the design might draw attention, and finding it hard to look at its once-blood-soaked surface. ♈ Swords ♈ ■ Desert Sapphire -A longsword with a brilliant blue blade. Despite the name and appearance, this is actually just a normal steel sword tinted blue by a merchant eager for sales. ■ Cavalry Sabre -A curved blade preferred by Yedythe when employing traditional fighting styles of Othard. ♏ Polearms ♏ ■ Brass Spear -A spear appreciated by Yedythe for its light weight and simplicity. She most often uses it when hunting monsters. ■ Ishgardian Lance -A more hefty polearm crafted in Ishgard for the purpose of taking down very large prey. ♐ Firearms ♐ ■ Garlean Revolver -A standard issue revolver of Garlean design. Allows for fast reloading and a quicker rate of fire than most Eorzean firearms. ■ Fusilier's Carbine -A type of gun used by Dalmasca's Fusiliers. While Yedythe prefers her revolver for actual combat, she keeps this gun around for more sentimental reasons. ♎ Magical Foci ♎ ■ Dakini's Staff -A staff with a design much too ornate to believably belong to Yedythe. Perhaps if one to catch her deep enough in her cups, or to worm their way deep enough into her heart, they could coax the story out of her. ■ Scepter -A short scepter trimmed with silver and set with a ruby. Why Yedythe spent so much money on it is a mystery, considering she's usually very comfortable simply wielding her magicks without a focus to enhance them.
