X'rihxo Matoi, better known as simply Rihxo or Miss Matoi to some, was born on the 24th Sun of the 1st Astral Moon. A mercenary, chocolatier, and songstress, Rihxo is an upbeat Seeker of the Sun with hopes of making Eorzea a better place, be it through sweat, sugar, or song. Laterality Scars Tattoos & Piercings Style Right-handed. Most notably on her face and torso. Her ears are pierced. Typically long, red coats. Rihxo is a Miqo'te whose outward appearance might be a little intimidating at first, but looking past that, she is rather cute. The first things one would notice about Rihxo is that her right eye is always covered by an elegant crimson eye patch, and showing just below it is a scar along her cheekbone. The visible eye - her left one - is a bright, vivid emerald green. She has a more rounded face and two white markings under each eye, as well as two brown stripes on each cheek and her forehead. Her lips are naturally a deeper red, and her skin is tanned from plenty of time out in the sun. Her hair was once long, but seems to have been cut off unevenly, and sits a little below her chin. Rihxo's body is naturally rather curvy, boasting an ample chest and wide hips. Her legs are thick and accustomed to many days of travel, typical of any Miqo'te. While thin, her form is a bit more muscular than one might expect, but don't let that fool you; Rihxo's true talent is in her dexterity, where she is able to easily move around gracefully and quickly. Her voice is usually rather upbeat and happy toned, though a deeper pitch than what one might expect from her demeanor. When angered, it tends to get higher pitched, which doesn't help her in the slightest. Singing, however, her voice is melodic and often described as just plain beautiful. She tends to get a bit shy when complimented on her voice, even though she's done these things for years. Given the title of "Chocolate Queen", Rihxo always smells of various kinds of sweets, most notably... well, chocolate. Her hair has a tendency to smell like berries, though. Notable scars on her body are two over her eye and just below that on her cheekbone, a spear wound on her left shoulder (puncture), and a spear wound on her left waist (slash). Energetic. Naive. Optimistic. Rihxo is an easygoing girl, at least when you first meet her. Casual with her conversation but a bit more formal with her words, she's easy enough to understand. Despite living in Limsa Lominsa all her life, she doesn't carry much of an accent, though it does come out a bit more when she's drunk. It's uncommon to see her without a smile on her face, save for when a situation really doesn't call for it. Often, she's unintentionally flirtatious, simply giving a compliment and it comes off as flirtatious. Due to this, she's had a fair share of suitors come after her, most of them rejected (though not painfully; she's too oblivious and often just too sweet to turn them down directly). Getting to know Rihxo better, it's more obvious that she has a lot of things that haunt her about her past, but they don't seem to get to her, at least not too much. She's still quite agreeable, and her loyalty is undeniable; though, both of these were evident from the start. Typically she is relaxing with one (...or more) of her friends in the Quicksand, or simply out on the job. Either way, she's easily approachable; while the red may be a bit intimidating, it's equally as enticing. The more drunk you get her, the more fun she probably is! Flushed cheeks and all. Chocolate. Both eating and making it. Pearl chocolate is her personal favorite, but any will do just fine. Napping in the sun. Much of her time is spent relaxing in La Noscea's fields, just taking a nice, long, nap. DISLIKES Cold weather. Having grown up in Limsa Lominsa, she's attuned far more to tropical weather. Magitek. Having known its affects on people, Rihxo has come to dislike it. Part of this stems from her fathers attempts to help Valen after it harmed him. Pessimism. Like most of the Matoi family, she's inclined to optimism. It's almost overwhelming, sometimes... STRENGTHS Powerful Archer. Her father, the legendary X'matoi, taught her everything she knew about archery. Some would say in battle, she is the spitting image of the missing Miqo'te. Singing. An ample performer, Rihxo has been known to sing for small events on occasion. Perhaps she could make it as a songstress one day? Charismatic. A happy and upbeat personality makes for a charismatic girl. WEAKNESSES Naive. Rihxo is exceedingly naive, and one might wonder how she's even still around... Ditzy. She doesn't think about what she's doing most of the time, and often has her head in the clouds. Extremely trusting. She trusts people way too quickly, and this usually gets her into trouble. The Wilds Growing up in La Noscea for much of her early life, Rihxo was born first out of her siblings, to Rokaya and K'rohni Matoi. The Miqo'te was the spitting image of her father, Rokaya, and learned to use the bow from him. A prodigy, Rihxo trained hard to live up to her father's name. Rokaya Matoi was a famed archer -- known as the Emerald Arrow for his striking eyes and armor -- and Rihxo longed for nothing more than to make her father proud. Soon after, the twins, Ratoh and Rahwa, were born. Not long after that, Rhaxe, the only son, was born, and Rhoxi, their final (or so they thought) daughter, was born. The family remained in western La Noscea for several more years before saving enough to finally go to the city of Limsa Lominsa, as K'rohni was away whenever she wasn't on leave from the Maelstrom, where she served as a First Lieutenant. The City The city of pirates brought fortune and a small degree of fame to the Matoi family. Things only seemed to be getting better for them, and the blue-haired children were often associated with their father. Little did they know, however, that their parents' relationship was struggling. K'rohni had cheated on Rokaya, causing her to be gone for many moons to have another man's child. Rokaya took on the burden of raising five children on his own -- no simple task for even the best of parents. Rihxo was often away from home regardless, and was more smitten with a Hyur by the name of Harrison Keryles, despite her sisters' concern the relationship was turning sour quickly. Her bow began to gather dust as her time was entirely devoted to the Hyur, who was less than kind to her. That mattered not, for when the time to go to Carteneau Flats came, Rokaya and K'rohni both answered the call. Until their last days, all of the Matoi family assumed they loved each other, and died an honorable death fighting by one another's side. Rihxo, as the eldest, realized she had to save her family and leave her 'love'. The Miqo'te lost her eye in a fight that quickly turned physical with the Hyur, and he was thrown in gaol for it. Rihxo knew she had to take control of the house, and set out to Ul'dah to learn trade. It was there she met Nanagi Nagi, and it was then she would never be the same. The Hunt The Lalafell changed Rihxo's life for the better -- that cannot be denied. From combat prowess to aetheric knowledge, Nanagi pushed her to improve on everything. Even fighting a Primal proved to be something that Nanagi could push her to do, and it proved dangerous. Nanagi went into hiding, and Rihxo had grown strong and capable. From there, she joined the Wayfarers of Eorzea, and after that, went on a journey to track down her parents. Along the way, Rihxo got a tip they were fighting for the resistance in Ala Mihgo -- and further proof turned up in the form of a Soulstone, that which her father had previously held. After washing up on the shores of Coasta del Sol from an attempted trip to Othard gone horribly wrong, Rihxo knew what she had to do. Search. Hunt. Learn. ABILITIES ♥ Dexterous. Rihxo weaves around opponents and the battlefield alike, with movements like a dance. Her motions are calculated before she does them, and the environment is often used to her advantage so that she may come into harm's way less often. ♥ Songstress. Obtaining a soul crystal allowed her to learn the ballads of old, and Rihxo's songs can move the hearts of those around her. ♥ Sharpshooter. Despite having one eye, Rihxo's aim is impressive. Her hits aren't usually meant to kill -- she prefers to incapacitate and leave her target alive... unless she doesn't have a choice but to kill. WEAPONRY AND ARMOR ♥ Bow. Forged by her sister, Ratoh, Rihxo's bow is an impressive piece of work. Red like Dalamud, it is lightweight and perfectly sized for the Miqo'te. Rihxo uses two different kinds of arrows -- regular arrows, and ones dipped in a chemical that causes nasty burns when coming into contact with skin. ♥Daggers. Two daggers are hidden in her thigh-boots, and remain sharpened at all times. She prefers to stay at range, but proves capable with these, as well. ♥Leather. Most often, Rihxo opts for leather coats and armor to give herself protection without sacrificing mobility. Almost always colored red, Ratoh crafts all the armor Rihxo wears. FAMILY K'rohni Matoi (Assumed Dead) - Mother K'rohni Matoi was a first lieutenant in the Maelstrom. A silver-tongued and attractive rogue, she served from the day she could enlist until the Battle of Carteneau, where it is assumed she died. When she wasn't busy with her work as a lieutenant, she would often do humanitarian work, and was thus often away from home. After the battle, her body was never found, and has been officially labelled as "Missing" for the years since. Rihxo gave up on her search about a year ago, but even now, a tiny part of her wants to believe her mother is out there, even though she knows this is almost certainly not the case. X'matoi Tia - AKA Rokaya Matoi (Assumed Dead) - Father Atypical to most Seekers, X'matoi left his tribe to settle down in Limsa Lominsa. Soon, he met First Lieutenant K'rohni Matoi, a fellow 'leaver' who opted for the military life instead of the tribal one. The two had a quick, but passionate romance, and were soon wed. The two wanted to make names for themselves, and worked hard to achieve this goal. After having several children with the fellow Seeker, he soon became a famed archer throughout La Noscea, known as one of its finest. The Emerald Arrow, as some called him, was always one to fight for justice, even if he had peculiar ways of going about it. His work and private life were kept very separate, however, and thus Rihxo never knew much about what he did. Much like Rihxo's mother, he fought at the Battle of Cartenau, and was never seen since. He has also been officially labelled as "Missing" since the battle. Rihxo wishes he were still here, as she wanted to learn more of his wisdom, not to mention he would play a pivotal role in helping Valen, as he had helped him before. X'rhaxe Matoi (♥🔒♥) - The Lone Brother The only son to be sired from the Matoi family, X'rhaxe left the family home in Limsa Lominsa early on to train as a Pugilist in Ul'dah. Only occasionally does he make an appearance at the Matoi house, and each of these appearances becomes far less common. Rihxo and him were once close, but such times have long since past, as he slowly becomes an afterthought to the day-to-day affairs Rihxo must deal with as head of house. X'rhoxi Matoi (♥🔒♥) - The Littlest Sister Clocking in as the youngest of the Matoi sisters, the baby-faced X'rhoxi has thus far lived a very sheltered life. Following in the footsteps of her oldest sister, Rihxo, she's always dreamed of becoming an adventurer someday -- though she remains almost horribly oblivious to the internal struggles of the family. Barely able to keep their home and make ends meet, and oft left alone, Rhoxi has secretly begun training as a Conjurer, that maybe one day her sisters will allow her help on an excursion. X'ratoh Matoi (♥🔒♥) - The Blacksmithing Twin More often covered in soot and ash than not, Ratoh is essentially the family's personal blacksmith. She's crafted her own armor, swords, and Rihxo's bows for years. Ratoh was the first born out of the twins, and thus makes her the second oldest -- though only by mere minutes. This doesn't stop her from using this so-called 'authority' to make decisions in Rihxo's absences, which are often except for resting between jobs. X'rahwa Matoi (♥🔒♥) - The Designing Twin The younger of the twins, Rahwa opted for a less "barbaric" craft and took up weaving after the Calamity when the parents of the family went missing. Slowly, but surely, the name X'rahwa Matoi is becoming known in some designer circles, making Rahwa's excursions to Ul'dah more frequent. More sentimental than most of the family, she sends letters and a monthly sum of gil to help keep their family bonds tight, and home in place. FRIENDS Saitou Yoshida (♥♦) - Olive "You really saved my ass that night! Glad you're still thinking of me after all these months..." As many interactions in the Quicksand end, the two met and quickly hit it off. A later meeting led to a rather steamy hookup. Saitou has helped Rihxo out of some sticky situations - both literally and not - and time will tell if the two's former fling will blossom into something greater. Kanako Moonweaver (●) - Information Broker "I didn't want to admit it, but I owe you one after what you did for me and Rhaya..." The two hated one another for no good reason a short time ago, but after Kanako saved the Miqo'te, they made up. Despite Kanako's kindness to her, Rihxo still suspects that she has an ulterior motive for helping her. Time will tell if her suspicions are correct. ACQUAINTANCES Rhaya Matoi (●♥✔) - The New Sister "I thought you'd hate me forever when we first met, but it seems like I've got some competition now!" A long-standing rumor first mentioned in passing by Adelaide, Rihxo was quick to deny the girl's existence. However, a chance meeting in the Quicksand left the Miqo'te confused -- and angry. Rhaya's existence raises questions about the Matoi family, though Rihxo is happy to accept her into their home... though she finds it hard to be alone with her for too long, as Rhaya reminds her of her mother, who has not been seen in many moons.
