Attributes

Proficient in the arts of subterfuge due to the ceaseless drills conducted by his Moks mother, Khaji is at his most comfortable when tasked with performing covertly. Passed down through her teachings were the complex hand signals employed by their tribe, and many a moon spent acquiring the muscle memory to perform these ancient sleights of hand produced a most manually dexterous child. Years spent in adolescence as a lookout and tracker following his assimilation into the elusive Dhoro tribe built upon his already nimble-footed foundations.

Medical neglect during infancy contributed towards a weak constitution; his frame is a frail one, and he suffers from an extremely poor immune system. Due to his aforementioned frailty, should an incoming blow connect, he is like to suffer grievously.

Physical Description

((Holding off on this until I can settle on an in-game appearance))

Personality

Khaji has a profoundly warped sense of self, often struggling with internal conflict regarding what he believes in, what type of person he is, and the type of person he would like to become. Fleeting are both his interests and aspirations, allowing both to be dictated by external sources as opposed to what he himself desires. This lack of self-identity causes him to determine his opinions and motives according to those of the people around him, as well as the reactions they produce. Like a moth to a flame he is drawn to people with strong, charismatic personalities, hoping that in assisting others in fulfilling their goals, he too will find his own purpose.

Few constants exist in his personality, but of those that do exist, his insatiable curiosity is most prominent. Due to the circumstances of his upbringing within the Dhoro tribe - who opt for a life of seclusion - Khaji has little to no experience communicating with those outside the tribe, including other Xaela. Minimal exposure to races and cultures beyond his own instilled in him an interest in all things foreign, and he is passionate in his pursuit of knowledge regarding the people and history of Eorzea. Though it is not something he has explored outside reading, he would like to devote time to scholarly activities such as writing and collaborative research.

Childish and innocently insensitive due to both his extreme curiosity and lack of social experience, he is often rather frank in his wording. Unable to sit without answers, he's prone to uninvitedly asking about the motives and justifications behind the actions of others. This aspect of his personality can be easily misunderstood, more often than not coming across as rude or prying, but he means no harm. Though unfamiliar with most obscure words, Khaji is a rather well-spoken individual; a conscious effort, as being misunderstood or having his words misconstrued is too embarrassing to bear thinking about.

Though made rather uncomfortable by them, he is not averse to social situations and is as friendly as his unpractised social skills allow. His curiosity leads him to actively seek out friendships with those he finds interesting, usually people of different races and those with colourful backgrounds. He has run into little issues with befriending others and deems himself likeable, though he has not recognised that this is due to his temperament and opinions changing in allegiance to those of others.

Additional Information

My player directory thread can be found here.

This thread is very much a WIP-- partly because I'm still getting a feel for the character (and already there are things written here that don't at all align w how Khaji has turned out, like pretty much everything related to combat... which I've decided he is to be positively terrible at) and partly because I'm lazy as hell.

A huge thank you to Kasi Nebuko for allowing me to use their page layout as a template!
