Abilities/SkillsLogan is trained mostly in the combat style of Gladiators and Paladins, though he knows a little of conjury from Jen, and has some skill as a Dragoon as well. Weapons
MagicLogan knows what magic was taught to him through his Paladin Soul Crystal, as well as some simple conjury and healing ability from his cousin, Jen. CraftingLogan has some simple crafting ability in the disciplines of weaving and carpentry, just enough to mend simple damage to such items, as he often assisted in the repair of items required for the family fishing business. Talents
Childhood (Age 0-15)By the time Logan and Cherise were born, his parents were already set up in Moraby Bay. He knew little else for many years, aside from the Red Rooster Stead to the north, where his grandparents on his father's side live. His mother stayed at home and watched the twins for the first few years, until they were old enough to join their father on his fishing trips - under heavy watch. As they continued to grow, they began to assist with increasingly larger tasks with the fishing business until they were nearly full fledged members of the business, and were able to accompany their father to trips into Limsa Lominsa. The Calamity (Age 15-18)Things were tense for the year leading up the Calamity, business was shaky with the threat of the Garlean invasion, people were nervous, and though Logan and Cherise were mostly removed from much of it, even they knew things weren't right. Life became not quite as routine as it used to be, things were harder, and their parents were often stressed. Things weren't looking great, and then the moon fell. The sight had bothered Logan for weeks, knowing it was getting closer, and not knowing what that meant. The day it cracked open, and with the Garleans attacking in full force, Logan found himself huddled together with his family in their home, praying to the Twelve that they would make it out alive. All Logan ever saw from Dalamud or Bahamut was the flashes of flame, and the roars of debris and primal dragon alike. It was an experience he would never forget. The Call (Age 18)Things got better after the Calamity. It took a lot of work, but despite being separate from the mainland, work immediately set out on a bridge to reconnect the God's Grip to the rest of La Noscea. While Moraby Bay had taken damage, both the Holden household and the fishing ship that his father used, were perfectly intact. Business was kicked back up, and there was much work to do between fixing up the ports and building the bridge. It was hard, but different from when the Garleans were pressuring the Eorzean borders. Soon five years had gone by, and Logan had barely noticed. He now accompanied his father and sister nearly every day onto their fishing expeditions, along with the crew. But he began to have strange dreams, those of him becoming a great warrior brandishing a sword and shield, fighting against a dark cloaked figure, spurred on by an aetherial voice. It soon became obvious enough that it was a calling, not a dream, and with his parents' blessing and his sister's company, set out to Ul'dah to become a gladiator and adventurer. The Warrior of Light (Age 18-19)At first it was strange, hot, and uncomfortable to be so far away from home. Many times Logan thought it better to just go home, not thinking he was cut out for this, but knowing that his sister was acclimating well kept him in place. Eventually he ran across a strange purple-haired Miqo'te who dragged him around Thanalan every so often pleading assistance Logan didn't think she really needed. After a while, Logan finally started finding his place as a Gladiator and Adventurer both, finding pleasure in helping those that needed it. His kindness and honesty gave him an opening for helping a man named Papashan, who asked his help in locating an Ul'dahn noble that had gone missing. With Cherise's help they found her, as well as a voidsent monster - their first true test as fighters up to that point - and a mysterious man who appeared to help that also seemed to know the noble. Left behind was a strange crystal, and upon picking it up, Logan got a new vision of the voice from his dreams, of a gigantic crystal that seemed to be the source, who called herself Hydaelyn, and seemed to be something of a deity. After this, Logan also began to get visions of the past, triggered by means unknown, but always centered on a person or event that was being discussed. These visions left a strong impact on Logan, often causing him to need some time afterwards to recover, finding the emotions displayed within extremely strong and leaving a memory ingrained into his mind that did not fade over time. Things escalated from there, with more mysterious events occurring and stronger monsters appearing. Eventually Logan and Cherise came face-to-face with the robed figure from Logan's dreams, and again with the stranger's help, fended him off. During a celebration of the battle that was won, Logan was given a vision of Calamity from the perspective of the Grand Company leaders, and the sight of Dalamud descending so close, and of Bahamut bursting forth found itself to be too strong of a sight for him, and he passed out on the spot. Despite the incident, Logan and Cherise's reputation as adventurers only grew, and soon they were ferried off to the other city states and their lands to help with other matters, all of which continued to test their strength. After dealing with a few notable dangerous jobs from the Adventurer's Guild, Logan and Cherise were offered to join an organization known as the Scions of the Seventh Dawn by the previously unknown stranger who had introduced himself as Thancred. He also implied he knew something about the visions Logan was getting, and that they knew someone who had the same power. Considering his visions had been the entire reason they left home, they saw no reason not to follow up on this lead. They joined, and in doing so eventually came to find that the Amalj'aa were kidnapping people and collecting crystals. During their investigation, during which Aiko reappeared and joined them, found they were betrayed and ambushed by the Amalj'aa. Cherise was badly wounded and left for dead, Logan's last sight of her being crumpled against a wall bleeding before they knocked him out. When he awoke, he was bound and told they were to be presented to their god, Ifrit, for judgement. Logan and Aiko weren't alone, finding a few notable others, including their betrayer, also bound. Logan merely went along with things, his spirit broken, thinking his twin sister dead. However when he, Aiko - who finally awoke - and a few of the others found themselves immune to Ifrit's tempering, found an opportunity to fight back. Drawing his sword and shield for nothing but the defense of the others, Logan helped to defeat the primal, and was rewarded with backup from the Scions, led by his sister, very much alive. They continued assisting the Scions, investigating further primal threats and tracking down the robed figures that were identified as Ascians, an ancient, evil group of beings, and the ones teaching the beast tribes how to summon their gods as primals. As things escalated, Logan and the other Echo-blessed warriors came together to battle a new primal threat, Titan. A few of these warriors had been working closely with him, specifically Aiko Slanda, who continued to stick around, an amnesiac with penchant for lost, powerful magic, and coming upon the skill of summoning; M'zikuh Rhaba, a Miqo'te with a talent for archery; Mercer Vitali, A Ninja who spent most of his time alone, but always willing to help when needed; and Celeste, an Au Ra with healing skills. They battled Titan, but before victory could be celebrated, found that their home, the Waking Sands, had been attacked by the Garleans, and the residents slain or captured. A particularly vivid Echo vision showed them all the result, and while no one was overly happy about it, they used the message given to them in their vision to retreat to the cathedral outside Camp Drybone. Logan drew into himself during this, the pure terror, pain, and sadness of the event affecting him greatly. He finally managed to shake it off by forcing himself to assist the priests with their tasks, but could not join the others in collecting the bodies of their fallen Scions, as the memory of the Echo vision was debilitating. Logan spent most of their time at the cathedral debating about this Echo "blessing" and wondering why exactly he was the one chosen, and why he - a simple fisherman's son - was now suddenly at the head of a fight to defend Eorzea. He began to doubt himself heavily, unsure if he should even bother staying. He also had a curious feeling about the man known as Marques. He seemed to know things about the man, such as his ability to fix nearly any device given to him, but he did not know why. Finally, fed up with his moping, Cherise talked some sense into her brother, noting how demoralized the rest of their group was as well, stating that without something to refocus them, it was all going to fall apart, and the deaths of the Scions would be for naught. Logan agreed, and just then Alphinaud appeared and confirmed a new primal threat was rising from the Ixal, and their goddess Garuda. Alphinaud also identified the mysterious priest Marques as Cid Garlond, his memories lost after witnessing the traumatic events of the Calamity first hand. Logan was strangely unsurprised, despite not knowing the name at all, and immediately felt he could trust the man, though couldn't place why. With these revelations however, Logan began to formulate a plan. He went back to his group and announced he was forming a Free Company under the name of Awoken Wanderers, that no matter the state of the Scions or anything else, they would find a way to help, and then presented them with the long missing inventor and the new threat, and their plan to continue moving forward. They defeated Garuda but encountered a new threat from the Garleans, a large mechanic monster known as Ultima, that absorbed Garuda, Titan and Ifrit's power. The Wanderers were forced to retreat, and found that the only way forward would be to retake the Waking Sands. Logan found it initially difficult, but after encountering the Scions that had been missing in the Echo vision, was relieved to find not all had perished or been taken. Bolstered by their further strength, but knowing that smaller steps had to be taken if they were to prevent the Garleans new plan, they began to mount a rescue of the still captured Scions. This ended up being a success, though a previously thought defeated Ascian had taken control of Thancred's body, leaving the Scions a man short. Despite this revelation, they knew what they had to do and managed to rally the Grand Companies of Eorzea and set up a plan to take the fight to the Garleans. They were to create an opening for the Echo-blessed warriors to get inside the main Castrum of the local Garlean forces, fight Ultima, and prevent it from destroying Eorzea. After a drawn out set of battles, against multiple high ranking Garlean officers, Ultima itself, and then finally the possessed Thancred, and with much assistance from the blessing of Hydaelyn, they finally succeeded, Logan and the others escaping at the last moment. With this success came the announcement that they had passed into a new Astral Era, and Logan and the other Echo-blessed warriors were officially given the title of Warriors of Light. Before the Fall (Age 19-20)Though the worst of the Garlean Empire had been staved off, they continued to threaten Eorzea, as did the beast tribes and their attempts to summon primals. Logan, the Wanderers, and the Scions all continue assisting the realm as best they can, helping them move from the somewhat politically charged location of Thanalan to the more neutral territory of Mor Dhona. Here, at the outpost known as Revenant's Toll, they set up the Rising Stones as a new headquarters. During the relative peace, many of the Wanderers go back to their normal lives, at least those that can. Logan continues working with the Scions closely, avoiding all questions about why he doesn't at least visit home. At the same time, Alisaie, Alphinaud's twin sister, comes forward with a concern about Castrum Occidens and their research on a piece of Dalamud. Upon investigating, they found a deeply buried Allagan ship, and mysteries surrounding the Calamity itself. At its deepest point, the group however is surprised when they come across a regenerating Bahamut, and the sight of the creature causes Logan to pass out due to his own childhood trauma of the Calamity, coupled with Lusiel's lingering terror of being at the epicenter of Bahamut's awakening five years ago. Soon, the Domans arrive and Logan finds an easy excuse to stay busy. Things don't work out for long however, as eventually a new primal threat, Leviathan, arises. In their effort to find a way to battle the new primal, Logan and the Warriors of Light end up back in Moraby Bay regardless. Logan expresses obvious awkwardness in being back home, and as the Warriors are gathered to finally go off and battle Leviathan, they soon understand why. His parents recognize him, and display shock and concern over the fact that Logan is, in fact, one of the Warriors of Light, and not simply an adventurer as his letters, which he had sent regularly to assure his parents that he and his sister were still alive, had implied. He has little time to deal with it however, as Leviathan is already on the move, and so awkwardly he says farewell but assuring his parents that he will explain more when he returns. While his parents seem understanding enough, they are greatly worried, and the other Wanderers being to hear talk of people around Moraby Bay being upset at Logan's sudden reappearance as a Warrior of Light. It comes to a head when Logan is called out in public for not helping the still struggling bay area, since he's got all this power and fame now. Found scorned by his own home, but without wanting it to impact his family, Logan insists his parents publicly cast him out, but promises he'll try to visit when things quiet down, and he can sneak in more anonymously. More events continue over the intervening months, Ramuh is summoned and bested, and Alphinaud creates the Crystal Braves in an attempt to give the Scions more ability to assist across the realm, a group that Logan eagerly assists, finding it to be a wonderful idea. Ishgardian heretics become more prevalent, causing an official investigation into their leader, Iceheart. A Garlean spy is uncovered and tracked down with the help of the Braves and the Doman shinobi. An old friend of Minfilia's and a fellow Sharlyan scholar, Moenbryda, arrives to help them research a way to permanently defeat Ascians. She also assists in helping the Warriors reach Iceheart, who seems capable of summoning the power of the saint Shiva, in the form of a primal, or something similar. Logan is left reeling when, before escaping, she mutters the words "Hear, feel, think". But events are now pulling his attention in various directions. With Alisaie's help, the Warriors manage to face the resurrected White Raven of Garlemald, the lingering tempered spirit of Louisoix, and finally Bahamut himself, an act that forces Logan to finally overcome his childhood fears. The Crystal Braves meanwhile begin to leave Logan uneasy, the company seemingly being manipulated in the shadows, but he can't focus on it with relations with Ishgard coming to the forefront with the appearance of Aymeric de Borel attempting to rally the Eorzean Alliance's assistance with their ongoing war with the dragons. Things all come to a head when an investigation into the possibility that Midgardsormr, the thought to be deceased Keeper of the Lake, is in fact still alive, reveals his spirit still lingering at the top of the crystallized ruins of his body and the Garlean airship he felled. He suddenly strips Logan and the other Warriors of Hydaeyln's blessing, replacing it with a special bond to himself, creating a new, smaller physical form, and confirms that the dravanians are heeding Nidhogg's call to war, and that nothing will stop them. The removal of the blessing then gives way to an Ascian infiltrating the Rising Stones and kidnapping Minfilia, forcing a conflict that ends with Moenbryda's death, though her strategy of using auracite works, and the Ascian is slain in her name. Shortly after the Ishgardians report that a new wave of dravanians is approaching Ishgard, and Logan and the Wanderers jump to assist, saving the Steps of Faith from crumbling to the horde. Finally reports of true corruption among the Crystal Braves surfaces, and Logan's suspicions are proven. Before he can attempt to act on any of this, he is lured into the Sultana's chambers, and forced to witness her apparent death at the hands of a hidden poison in her drink. The Blades and Braves take over the situation, branding Logan, the Warriors of Light, and the Scions, traitors. The Wanderers are scattered, the Scions sacrifice themselves one by one to allow the Warriors to flee, and Logan is left broken, wishing he had seen any of this coming earlier, mourning the loss of so many of his friends. The Dragonsong War (Age 20-22)Tired, broken, and disheartened, Logan more stumbles his way out of Ul'dah than making any kind of bold escape. The recent events leading up to the disastrous party and then its aftermath left him exhausted and angry. Plans were formed to escape to Ishgard, kept safe by House Fortemps. But Logan could only see failure. The Scions were missing or dead, feeling it unlikely that Ilberd would take any prisoners, the Braves had been betrayed and shattered, many of the Awoken Wanderers were out of contact and he had no idea where they were, nor even if they - or the property the Free Company held in the Mists - were safe. It all became too much as the group stumbled through the blizzards leading into the city of Ishgard proper, and Logan collapsed, angry and crying, once again only coming to his feet proper from the words of his sister. They reached House Fortemps, and Logan almost immediately collapsed into bed. Upon waking, and feeling little better about himself or the situation, found that Aiko had disappeared. A deep-seated, longtime fear of losing her to the feelings he'd never admitted, now faced him. On top of every other failure, he could not stand to lose Aiko as well, and so announced to the Warriors and Wanderers that remained, that he was leaving to look for her, no matter how long it took. Few argued, aside from Cherise, who thought it folly, but ultimately, Logan left. Since most of Eorzea was hostile towards the Warriors of Light, Logan instead hid with Garlond Ironworks in Revenant's Toll, sleeping in a cot in a small room, as unassuming as he could manage, despite Cid's insistence he could provide better lodging. Midgardsormr appeared often during this time, testing Logan's resolve to continue searching, as day after day went by with no progress in finding Aiko. He became almost mindless as time went on, knowing he could not give up looking, lest he give up on everything, but tired, both from physically searching Eorzea and from Midgardsormr's constant berating and questioning. But finally, Brayflox ran into Logan, informing him that there seemed to be another dragon by her outpost, and insisted he look into it. Without anything better to do, he agreed, having not searched that area for Aiko yet either. It turned out that the dragon was Aiko practicing black magic, inside the very cave that they had once cleared of the dravanian menace. Finally face to face, and pleading for her to rejoin the Warriors of Light in Ishgard, Logan confessed his feelings to her, and she accepted them. After spending the night in an inn room - where, despite Aiko's advances, nothing occurred between them - they finally returned to Ishgard. Logan spent the next few months working with Alphinaud, Estinien, Ysayle and Aymeric to uncover the plots of the heretics, dravanians and even Garleans in an attempt to bring peace to the region. He explored the new lands, got used to seeing dragons as friendly, killed Nidhogg in an attempt to halt the dravanian horde, and even argued with Hraesvelgr over how to bring peace to both their people. Things, as always, escalated to the point where the heretics laid down their arms, the Heaven's Ward and Archbishop began to reveal a plot of their own, and in the end, much like Ysayle, the Archbishop took on the primal form of the original King Thordan. Despite a harried battle, the Archbishop was felled, and Logan and the others walked away, thinking peace at hand. Unfortunately, Estinien, upon taking hold of both of Nidhogg's eyes, found himself possessed by the thought to be felled ancient dragon, and was reborn anew. It seemed as though the Dragonsong War was yet to be ended. After this, Logan began to train in the ways of the Dragoon, thinking it useful to use the tried and true methods of the Ishgardians elite force in fighting the dravanians, not to mention Cherise had already found her own soul stone and been training in the same disciplines. While he wouldn't come to its full potential until the war was near its end, it still bolstered his combat abilities and gave him new options outside of his usual Paladin tactics. During this training, he found that since he had never actually been in contact with Nidhogg's eye while training as a dragoon, he could not draw on the blood of the dragon like the others. Instead he had to supplement that power with the residual aether of Bahamut from his fight against the primal, much how Aiko used it for her summoning. It worked, but the result was harsher than expected, and the primal instincts of death and destruction nearly overpowered him. It was eventually controlled, but Logan feared to use it again, unsure if he'd be able to keep it in check, especially during combat. To Logan's great relief as well, the other Scions were gradually found and rescued, brought back into the fold, all aside from Minfilia who seemed to join with Hydaelyn to allow her to speak again, after seemingly draining herself in assisting the Warriors of Light during the battle with Ultima. While he mourned her loss, knew she hadn't exactly died either, and was still, in some way, assisting them. Stormblood (Age 22)MSQ from 4.0 to current (details TBA) Common Rumors (Easily overheard)
