Born to a small community consisting of three families, Naoh's early life was largely traditional, as far as Keepers of the Moon go. She grew up learning to stalk and hunt the creatures of the forest using her bow. Certainly, she did not remain in that life for long. Once she was of age, she set off for Ul'dah in hopes of giving a more physical manifestation to the fire that burned in her heart.

Appearance & Personality

Small and lithe of frame, Naoh certainly doesn't look like someone that ought to be traipsing about in heavy armour or carrying large weaponry. Fortunately for her, that's not what she does at all. Instead, her dainty, pale form is more typically clothed in finely tailored garments or voluminous robes, occasionally giving her a bookish look. She's also rather fond of pointy hats, perhaps as some kind of symbol of occultism.
Personality wise, she's a well-spoken, seemingly well-educated woman. Despite her more traditional upbringing, Naoh clearly spared no time or expense in teaching herself all the mannerisms, knowledge, and dialect needed to fit in with the academics and Ul'dahn upper crust. Her polite demeanor can be quick to fade, though, giving way to something decidedly less-than-ladylike. Her fuse is hard to light, but when it is, it burns swiftly. Her response is usually just as swift.

Biography

Early Years

The eldest of two daughters, Naoh's immediate family was fairly small. She grew up in a fairly traditional way for a Keeper of the Moon, subsisting off the land of the Shroud, or poaching as some would call it, though she loathes the term. As a point of pride, she and hers never had to resort to banditry, though all the same she grew up weary of the Wood Wailers, not understanding at the time what the problem was with a bit of hunting. Even at a young age, Naoh was a rather ambitious girl, never settling for second best, always aspiring towards greater heights and greener pastures.
Teenage
It didn't take long for her ambition to catch up to her. While she was good with a bow, she wasn't great with a bow, which was a source of discontentment for the young Miqo'te. She found she was rather talented when it came to cooking, which was a blessing for her esteem, but it was not exciting enough for a young woman with aspirations in the clouds. She had found her calling in life during one of her typical hunts. What she thought were the footsteps of another hunter, or a Wailer, in the distance were soon accompanied with a rather distinct sound. Drawing her closer to investigate, her eyes confirmed that it was neither of her first guesses, and was instead an oddly robed figure that'd run afoul of a boar. It was the first time she'd seen Thaumaturgy at work, but it left no doubts. That would be her goal.
As soon as she came of age and squared away things with her family, Naoh set out towards Ul'dah. She had little clue what she was getting into, but she knew it'd be better than spending her life in the forest hiding from footsteps in the night.

Up to Present

Excelling at Thaumaturgy, Naoh had achieved everything she'd set out to do and more. It took some time to adjust, but now there's hardly a trace of her more traditional upbringing in the way she conducts herself. Taking to the life of adventure, Naoh continued to strive for ever greater power. Not for malicious intent, or for schemes and plots, but simply to see how far she could push her limits. At least at first. Finding her limits every growing, she grew confident. She rubbed elbows with the wealthy in Ul'dah, supped on fine wine and dressed herself in fine clothing. It was enough to make a humbly raised Miqo'te swell with pride. Pride comes before a fall, though.
A betrayal of any kind tends to be eye-opening. When one of her stalwart adventuring companions was cut down by another for the sake of coin, and narrowly avoiding the same fate, she decided that the money and power didn't mean particularly much without the insight to temper it. For all her knowledge, she didn't see it coming. For all her incantations, she couldn't save her companion. With a rekindled flame, and a return to her roots, Naoh set about delving further into her arts. This time, though, it would be to better protect those she cared about.

◢ Rare Rumors (Very difficult or rarely overheard)
"She fancies herself a gentlewoman, but if you ask me, it's a facade. Sure she's 'nice' and sure she might be 'polite.' But I've seen how she deals with problems when she thinks no one is looking. Nothin' gentle about it." -- A traveling merchant in Thanalan

Relationships

Romantic Interest     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Poor Standing
Keerith Galeo : While unwilling to settle back into a full adventuring group after the last one went south, Naoh knew she worked better in a team. A small team is even better, and so she teamed up with a fellow Keeper of the Moon. A professional partnership that went into friendship and then beyond. At least for Naoh.
Moko : Her trusty friend and stalwart steed. Naoh has been traveling with her since the Calamity, and the Chocobo is clearly well cared for.
