History

Ryn grew up in Gridania with his parent's though his father would spend many moons working away as a blacksmith in Limsa Lominsa. When he was thirteen he start learning the blacksmith skills being taught directly under his father and by the time he was fifteen he was traveling to Limsa Lominsa to learn about his fathers business. He spent his time in hiding with his father during the fall of Dalamund and helped in the reconstrution of Limsa and a little in Gridania. His years working in the trade classes have allowed him to pick up skills from other trades which he uses to support him and his family.

1556-1572 6AE - Pre Dalamund

1-5 7UE - Post Dalamund

After the fall of Dalamund, Ryn took to helping many other survivors in restoring the cities. With such destruction, he worked hard with his father Beldon and other tradesfolk in Limsa Lominsa to rebuilding the grand city state. For the first few weeks he struggled to keep focused, worried about his mother back home who had not contacted him or his father of her wellbeing. It wasn't until his father ordered him to go to Gridania and check on his mother did he make the dangerous trip back home.

Returning home, Ryn was relieved to find his mother was well, apart from the damaged linkpearl which had stopped their communication. Explaining what he knew and the work him and his father were doing, Cellia suggesting her son return to Gridania to help his father instead of worrying about her.

For the next year Ryn spent most of his time in Limsa Lomisa, building his skills and refining his talent as a blacksmith or out in the field as a miner. By the time he was seventeen, he was handling some of his father's clients and requests himself. When he wasn't working, he had resigned back to the Marauder's guild in Limsa, hoping to be able to learn how to weird an axe for his own protection should anything like Dalamund happened again.

Ryn discussing business.

With Limsa Lominsa back in a running order, Beldon got his business back on it's feet. With the now heavy demand for trandecrafters since the destruction, the bussiness boomed and work came in quick and fast. By this time, Ryn had surpassed his father's expectations in his crafts and was highly sought through his father's contacts for work. Ryn decided to take a break from Limsa and returned back to Gridania to try taking up other crafts. He signed up to the Woodworking guild to try his hand at carpentry.

On the 8th Sun of the 4th Umbral Moon 2, a young man bumped into Ryn while he was in the Rosewood stalls trying to sell some materials. He didn't notice until a few seconds later that this man had made of with a ouch of gil he had. Making a dash after him, Ryn chased the young man down into depths of the Central Shroud to Hedgetree, Ryn confronted the young theif to only be confronted with his childhood friend Navarre Fairclough.

Navarre appologised, explained he hadn't recognised Ryn sicne they last saw each other in 1569 6AE. Navarre explained his options, how he has become ophaned at fourteen after his Twin Adder parents had died in the battle of carteneau and had spent the last three years fending for himself. Ryn was tanken back by the difference he saw in Navarre compard to his childhood, though he remember that Navarre always had a very independent attitude and spent a lot of his time on his own even when his parents were alive.

Shortly before his eighteenth birthday, Ryn made the decision to return to Limsa at the request of his father to help out at the business again. Before leaving, he purchased a linkshell and named it The Hidden Hylt. Hylt is the Roegadyn word for tree which he learned during the time spent in Limsa Lominsa. Giving a pearl to Navarre, he promised that they would keep in contact and that Ryn would help Navarre where he could. Leaving him with a pouch of gil and a newly crafted shortbow, Ryn made Navarre promise that he wouldn't do anything stupid to survive and to shout him if he ever needed help.

Over the next two years, Ryn and Navarre's friendship bond grew stronger, even though it was not always on the best of terms. On many nights, Navarre wasn't contactable on the linkshell, worrying and frustrating Ryn. And when he was contactable, Navarre either had an unbeleivable reason as to why he couldn't pick up or admitted to the trouble he had got himself into with some ridiculous ideas on how to make gil. Ryn couldn't help but worry and care for the young man, growing attatched to him.

5 Onwards - Journey Forth

With his father settled and his business thriving, Ryn decided to look for ventures of his own away from his father's business. He would still help and take requests from his father's clients but he felt he had learned as much as he could from working under his father and wanted to increase his trade craft experience. He would dabble in other crafts such as woodworking and leatherworking to enhance his current skills, seeking guidance from the guilds accross Eorzea.

Returning to Gridania, Ryn finished of his carptentry studying under the guidance of Beatin and took on a few jobs within the forest city.

About The Player

I'm kinda shy at times. I've done a lot of roleplay on things like forums and skype but not in game with an avatar before so I get a bit intimidated. I would love to be able to meet loads of friends and do roleplays and stuff and develop my character through friendships and even rivals! I have a small close knit group of friends I roleplay with and would happily expand that. I am looking for a roleplay FC to call home.
