Basic Info

Height: 5'7

Weight: Average

Appearance: With Short brown hair, brown eyes, some stubble lining his chin, and three scars on his face Synn seems like your average Midlander Hyur Adventurer, at least on the surface. He is lightly tanned on account of him spending most of his time outside but he mostly hides his features in black clothing or armor. Although he is constantly dressed in black as if in mourning –regardless of weather, social gatherings, or battlefields-- he carries himself with pride, or rather arrogance. Below the surface, underneath his black clothing reveals something damaged, both in mind and body. Synn has gone through a lot in his younger years and much more as he grew older. Though traveling Eorzea with his family when they were alive was the best years of his life it would be a lie to say that he got away unscathed from their many adventures. Now that Synn has grown into a man the number of scars he has almost entirely cover his body thanks to his murderous tendencies. In addition to that there are even scars that would suggest that he was tortured at one point in his life. Because of this however Synn has the body of a seasoned soldier, which he makes full use of in battle.

History

To be a hero

Born in Gridania Synn lived a relatively normal life on his family’s farm house for seven years. As young children are wont to do Synn became enamored with his parents tales of their adventures, seeing wondrous sights and their heroic exploits before settling down. Growing up hearing such tales how could Synn not want to experience the very same? For better or worse though considering the outcome it would be worse, Synn got his chance to play the hero when one of his childhood friend and her mother were kidnaped. Miraculously Synn managed to save both, but there was no hero’s welcome to praise Synn for what he had done.

Frightened by the child that killed a man the mother hid her daughter from him calling him a “Devil.” Pretty soon this happened with the rest of Synn’s friends and the adults treated not only himself, but his family as well as outcasts. However Synn accepted this title with pride, he had acted as his parents would have and saved two lives. He loved his parents and was proud to be the son of heroes; he wouldn’t allow anyone to slander all that they had done. Unfortunately Synn’s love and pride for his parents would not change how everyone treated them. Not even a week had passed and this treatment had gotten severely worse to the point where Synn and his family left Gridania altogether. Still Synn did not dismay, after all he would finally be able to go on adventures with his family and be a hero to others.

A fervent desire

A few years or traveling with his family, Synn became increasingly bitter as most of the heroic exploits he took part of held the same result as Gridania. One of the most severe cases would be when Synn and the family spent some time near Ul’dah. There they met with a conjurer who Synn at first took a liking to because after he had learned that Synn’s parents were Dark Knights he readily accepted them and treated them far better than those in Gridania. At that age and his parents glad that Synn seemingly made a friend after leaving Gridania couldn’t have known that this conjurer’s actions were all a ruse. Under the cover of night and after gaining the family’s trust, the conjurer kidnapped Synn and tortured him physically and mentally. After Synn’s family saved him he became obsessed with becoming stronger, and the strength he wanted was that of his parents. He wanted to be a Dark knight like them.

Synn’s parents were hesitant to make Synn a Dark knight and they would never be able to as the war with Garlemald was in full swing. And Synn’s family joined in the war only to die in the Calamity leaving Synn to live four years in an orphanage further adding on to his bitterness. When the news of Synn’s family passing reached him (thanks to a soldier who fought with them, gave Synn his mother’s pendant and his father’s journal) he was outraged and vowed revenge against the Garleans. Because of this outburst he was noticed by an Ul’dahn noble who with the agreement of Synn himself quickly adopted him into his family.

Though Synn agreed to be adopted he had no desire to remain with such a family and he planned to use the nobles wealth to help with his revenge. Sadly the noble too had plans to use Synn and after stealing Synn’s family mementos he forced him to play the role of Lennard Teyrnon and secure a profitable marriage tie. After one year as Lennard, Synn destroyed the noble’s reputation and made his way to Ul’dah to become an official adventurer. Along the way something unexpected happened.

Culain Bloom, a Roegadyn who Synn considered an uncle was making a living as a blacksmith and had taken up residence in a town leading to Ul’dah. With Culain alive Synn remained in the town for quite a while, becoming close with another resident of the town a girl named Cara Aleena, Synn became less focused on revenge and found joy in his time in the small town. However, once again Synn would meet with tragedy. Cara along with others were actually Garlean spies who set out to establish a covert forward base near Ul’dah. The plan was thwarted on Synn’s twentieth Nameday, but the cost –Culain’s life- left Synn with a deeper hatred for Garleans as well as an overwhelming emptiness. This emptiness clung to Synn like a leech and he was fed up with the absurd world that seemed to spite him. Though he suffered so much there still was something to drive him onward.

That which he sought and something more

As an Adventurer, Synn searched for other dark knights in Eorzea to become one himself to honor his parents and to die as a “Devil” and a hero. This didn’t work out as he intended as his search took far longer than he anticipated. On a whim and because he worked with its members before Synn became a member of Mythril Wings to keep his coin purse heavy and to fund his searches for Dark knights. All of this payed off quite well as soon after joining with Mythril Wings he was able to get into Ishgard and become a Dark knight. Of all the Dark knights out there his Grandfather was the last person he expected to teach him how to be a Dark knight considering Synn’s father eloped. Regardless Synn had what he wanted and didn’t care as to why his grandfather would teach him now. Shortly after becoming a Dark knight a member of Mythril Wings charged into a Garlean Castrum. Now everything was in place, Synn would sacrifice himself to let Mythril Wings escape from the Castrum. But again this didn’t go as Synn planned. One of Mythril Wings member, Adeya Evenar, saved him. At First Synn was angered by this and lashed out at Adeya and others, But after talking it became apparent that not only Adeya but other members of Mythril Wings considered Synn a friend.

For now Synn has chosen not to throw away his life and instead protects the apparent friendships he has with Asheloux Thalantos and Adeya Evenar as well as other members of Mythril Wings. In addition to this Synn has reached out to his mother’s family as well as his father’s to accumulate more meaningful relationships though like most things it is uncertain how things will go.

While Synn wasn’t rushing headlong into dangerous conflicts anymore things were still rather awkward between Synn and his friends. Sensing this, or perhaps being the meddling Elezen that he is, Soren along with Asheloux made up a fake job wherein the two “couples” –Synn and Adeya, Asheloux and Soren- would spend some time together at the gold saucer and covertly keep an eye out for specific individuals. Of course since those individuals were not at all present for them to find it ended up with both “couples” wasting time instead of doing more productive things. It was a waste of time yes, but Synn was grateful for Soren’s meddling (even if he wouldn’t admit it to said Elezen) as it would lead to Synn and Adeya becoming close.

A new enemy

It was around this time that Mythril Wings’ expedition to the Gubal library took place and then later Marielle blackmailing her way into their expedition into Azys Lla. Before the expedition to Azys Lla took place, it became apparent that Adeya’s aether had changed (made known by Asheloux’s aethersight) and was possibly tempered by titan. While both Synn and Adeya disagreed he couldn’t deny the worry he felt when the later claimed she would attempt to summon titan’s strength in some form. Just so, his concern wasn’t misplaced as what she had summoned almost immediately turned on her. As he had followed her to where she would summon the egi, he wasted no time to aide her in defeating the egi once he knew she was in danger.

Not long after this did the company finally set out on their expedition to Azys Lla, Marielle and Orrin in tow along with one other Synn knew as Xavarian. During their stay in Azys Lla two groups were formed for different tasks, Synn with Adeya and others, while Asheloux was with Marielle and Orin and some others as well. Synn’s group were to check on the Garleans present while Asheloux’s group were to gain access to Fractal. As per usual Synn played the vanguard to meet whatever the group encountered in their expeditions. He particularly enjoyed doing so against the Garleans more than he did against the various Allagan constructs and experiments.

Once the company had returned home it became increasingly obvious that Marielle was not done with them. Asheloux had gone missing and an unfamiliar voice over the company’s linkshell lead Synn and others to believe Asheloux had been kidnapped. Shortly after that discovery Soren would be attacked by one of Marielle’s subordinates an Au Ra girl. Which after bribing the brass blades was interrogated for information by Synn. Synn and the others would learn very little from Soren’s attacker and the end result lead to Adeya having to attempt to dispose of the believed to be dead Au Ra’s body to Azys Lla via a makeshift aetheryte Asheloux and Xavarian had set up during the expedition. Only it would not work out as they all hoped it would.

Adeya was lost inside the lifestream; Synn would learn this after consulting with Xavarian about the makeshift aetheryte Adeya had used. Thankfully Xavarian had an idea on how to bring Adeya back from the lifestream. A ritual in which both Synn and Xavarian took part of with Xavarian giving him instructions throughout its completion would see Adeya safe and sound. Synn had no idea on any of the risks preforming the ritual or how Xavarian came about the idea in the first place. Regardless he was immensely relieved that Adeya was back.

After Xavarian had rested enough Synn and Adeya met with him in order to find where Marielle was keeping Asheloux. The duskwight used another ritual to scry Asheloux’s location, which didn’t completely work, but was enough to give the company a place to look, the twelveswood. While Michaux Vidal –another member of Mythril Wings- searched the twelveswood, there wasn’t much for Synn to do but wait for the news and he hated that. Though where Marielle was keeping Asheloux did come eventually, by the time the company made their way there in force they had seen no sign of Marielle or Asheloux. However all was not lost as another member of the company had managed to find out where Marielle had moved Asheloux.

Descending upon Marielle’s new hiding spot the company tore through her men and defenses and had managed to rescue Asheloux though the Elezen was left weak for a time. Marielle herself had managed to escape as the company laid siege to her hideout. Synn and Adeya would not see her again for a time, which he was thankful for as it allowed the company and its member’s time to recover and grow stronger, though the desire to end her life would remain even after her defeat. A desire he shared with Adeya, however at the time Synn did not want her to be the one to bloody her hands and still does, but he has accepted that there’ll be times were it can’t be avoided.

Sometime later, Synn would join Adeya in tracking down Marielle; the two of them would corner the Duskwight on a cliff. Synn would attempt to be the one to end her life then and there had it not been for the intervention of who appeared to be one of the last of Marielle’s henchmen, however in the ensuing scuffle between Synn and the henchmen, Synn would learn that it was in fact Asheloux instead. Asheloux may have concealed his identity, but Synn would not forget the daggers he was using. Synn would later confront Asheloux about his involvement after Marielle’s apparent suicide.

Odd job

With the belief of Marielle having taken her own life Synn spoke with Asheloux about why he was there during her time of death at all. During that talk he would learn that Asheloux as well didn’t want Adeya to bloody her hands. Asheloux claimed that that was the reason he was there and it had worked. As such Synn believed that he wanted Marielle dead just as he did. However, the fact that Marielle was actually alive wouldn’t come from the Elezen until much later. Marielle was dealt with and calm had returned to the company’s days which Synn made use of to spend time with his extended family. However, as the company was involved with the Maelstrom jobs from them would come and take up some of the time he spent with his extended family. This job involved looking for an Allagan relic for an Au Ra raen girl named Tatsu. In order to secure said relic the company had to make their way through a Garlean encampment. Something Synn was all to content to help out with; it meant killing those he held responsible for his parents’ death after all.

Clearing the Allagan ruins the Garleans had been studying the company had found what they were looking for and brought it back home to study. The job was done, but the company’s troubles over this particular job wouldn’t end with just dealing with Garleans. Just so, the Allagan relic there procured acted like a primal of a sort. It had started to slowly temper them, weather that was because it was weak or only similar to a primal in that it plays with the minds of others to get what it wants, Synn wouldn’t know as his state of mind was altered by the relic and was rendered in active once the company found a way to stop the relic from doing any further harm to them. With that particular nightmare over and done with a break was in order though it was rather short, Synn would greatly enjoy the get together the company would have, even if they had spent that time complaining and drinking. Synn would resume talking with his extended family as the company would recover from the ordeal of slowly losing themselves.

Trouble with the family

Time had passed and although he had met with and spent some time with both families, Synn would refuse to have anything to do with his family among the paladins –The Arlice- once it became apparent that they wanted him to become a paladin like them. However, his association with his family among the dark knights –The Heolstors- as well as the Mythril Wings wouldn’t have it be that simple. Unbeknownst to Synn the Arlice would approach the company with a job. This job entailed the Heolstor’s death or arrest along with the clergymen who supported them in Ishgard. Synn was with the Heolstor’s at the time and had agreed to help them deal with an enemy of theirs. His suspicions on who that enemy was would be confirmed soon enough in the snow fields of central coerthas.

The snow was dyed red around him as the Heolstors fought the Arlice as well as those in the Mythril Wings. Synn himself was like a statue as the fighting went on around him, he wanted to help his friends among the Mythril Wings, but doing so would mean turning on those he had started to consider family –The Heolstors- and perhaps because of his reluctance to join the fight he along with what remained of the Heolstors had to retreat. Synn would not see anyone from the company until he knew that the Heolstors’ could recover. Because of the Arlices’ actions Synn and the Heolstors’ couldn’t return to Ishgard, instead they now had to hideout in the wilderness until they found themselves in Tam Tara deep croft. It was a far cry from the manor they had back in Ishgard but it worked well enough as a sanctuary for the time being.

Synn would then return to the house in the goblet to explain the situation to the company. Most of his time back would be spent with Adeya and from talking with her his feelings for her would only grow and it became clear to him who he valued more when it came to deciding who to side with in the family feud he and the Mythril Wings found themselves in. However, although he made his choice on whom to side with, he didn’t want to fight those he had only just started to consider family. So, it was a gamble, but he would try to convince the Heolstors’ to leave Eorzea that way they could help those in different lands as dark knights and the Arlice would be rid of the Heolstors’ thus completing the job given to Mythril Wings.

Or Synn had hopped, when he had tried to convince them to leave Eorzea while he would remain, they called him a hypocrite among other things. They had every right to, Synn was their ally and family, but still he tried to convince them to leave. Only for a fight to break out as tensions ran high among the both of them. Synn had managed to escape deeper into the deep croft thanks to some loose stone work, but he was wounded as a result and wouldn’t be able to get out easily. As such he took an even greater gamble. With the time he managed to give himself he placed his hand over his chest and communed with his Darkside. Normally he would pass out for a time and hear a voice, but he had communed far too frequently and in addition to feeling an agonizing pain he heard more than one voice. It wasn’t what he planned, but he would manage to escape as Voidsent were drawn to him in droves and would slaughter the Heolstors’ to get at him.

Mythril Wings were waiting in Brentbranch for the news of Synn’s success, but it wouldn’t come as Synn told them of his failure over the linkshell before he would commune. Synn himself was unaware of what the company went through as they rushed to his aide. Much like when he was slowly being tempered he was fighting for control over his mind. It took some doing and it was dangerous to them all, but thanks to Asheloux using his aethersight the company had managed to deal with the Voidsent that plagued his mind, however his Darkside still raged. The company fighting amongst themselves on how to deal with him and the wounds he sustained eventually saw him calming down and passing out due to blood loss and exhaustion.

When Synn awoke he was back at the company house back in the goblet and he could practically feel the lingering tension after everyone had seen his Darkside in action. The one who was the most affected by seeing Synn’s Darkside was the one he cared about most. Adeya was scared of him, scared of his Darkside and what he was capable of under its influence. There was nothing he could do about it, as far as he knew there was no way to get rid of his Darkside after becoming a dark knight. All he could do was to try to keep it under control and wait for her to talk to him. Which, he didn’t exactly make it easy for her as he had spent most of his time away from the house after he thought she no longer wanted to see him. The two of them finally talked after Kurt -another Midlander Hyur- consoled her and convinced her to prank Synn and paint his room pink.

Yes, it was annoying at the time; however Synn would be grateful for Kurt’s actions as it got him and Adeya talking again. Synn made it clear then that his Darkside would be a part of him for as long as he lived nor did he want to give it up as that wouldn’t make him a dark knight anymore. And he would cry when she explained that she had missed him as he undoubtedly did so with her. He was no stranger to heartbreak, but the thought of the one he cared about most being afraid of him was worse than losing his entire family to the calamity. The two of them would continue talking after that, the more they talked the more it seemed like things started to return to normal. Consoled by that thought Synn revealed that he wanted to marry Adeya. He may be rushing things, but Adeya really was important to him so he didn’t feel like he was rushing at all. He could almost feel his heart leap out of his chest when she said yes to his proposal.

Leaving the goblet

Before any plans could be made for the wedding could take place however, a group of paladins likely sent by the Arlice, would show up at the company’s house and attempt to arrest Synn and several other members. Suffice it to say, Synn and the others resisted being arrested regardless of actually being guilty of what the paladins tried to arrest them for. Looking back at that moment Synn thought how they made their escape was a little overboard no matter how much he disliked paladins. Using one of the airships the company had built, they would fly off into the distance as a makeshift bomb –of what Synn believed to be firesand and an alcoholic beverage known as Halone’s Mercy- courtesy of one Kurt Steel, would blow up destroying Mythril Wings house as well as any paladins that were inside.

Retreating to Eastern La Noscea the Company would spend a few days there until the Maelstrom would provide them with a house in the mist, a larger house at that. News that the paladins had tried to arrest them wouldn’t find its way to the Maelstrom until Synn and the company would enjoy adjusting to the new housing situation for a few weeks. Paladins would once more be at their door, but not in force this time and the Arlice would be the ones coming to their new home. But instead of trying to arrest them a second time they offered a job. One that would pardon their “crimes.”, Synn loathed the idea of working for Paladins let alone the Arlice, while the others also didn’t like the idea the decision was decided to accept the job just so they wouldn’t have to run from the authorities anymore.

A job he loathed

The job the Arlice wanted the company to do was to keep a Lalafell –one Rikulai Kukulai- from a potential seat in the Syndicate of Ul’dah. Simple enough, until they requested that it happen with Kukulai staying alive. By then it was annoying, but the pardons that came with the success of the job would be null if Kukulai were to die. So, though it was more work, the company would plan and prepare for that to happen. They would find his manor, have one group distract the guards, while another group would sneak in to find evidence of Kukulai’s corruption, which the paladins would use to arrest him and finish the job. They would accomplish this goal, but things would not go as planned for the distraction group. In part because of lack of communication and Kurt’s Inner beast reacting aggressively in response to Synn’s Darkside, a bloodbath would ensue until the company would retreat back to their home in the Mist.

With the evidence the second group had recovered which were documents that revealed Kukulai’s dealings with Garleans in addition to Kukulai’s brother who confirmed this after some “encouragement.” The company had all they need to finish the job given to them and clear their names… so to speak. In any case things had worked out for Mythril Wings, but this would not be the last time they would see the Arlice at their door which they made very clear as they left with the evidence. Regardless Mythril Wings had secured their place in Eorzea and their relatively peaceful days would continue.

Two rings and the adventure that followed

During which the company would grow, Synn would work on his plans for the wedding along with Adeya and their honeymoon after the wedding in between small jobs the company would take on. One of which would see one Viotteaux Pairair counted among the company's Black mages, which Synn was all for as it meant the company's strength would grow. As such he would continue working the weddings plans, where it would be held was easy enough to take care of as there was only one place that handled weddings. Though convincing the staff that they wouldnt be going on any pilgrimages took some doing. All that remained to see to was to get the rings from the goldsmiths guild along with a flute to replace the one Adeya had lost when the house in the Goblet went up in flames. Since he was getting married he was feeling particularly whimsical once he had both rings and Adeya's flute in hand. So rather than teleport back home he decided to reminisce a bit and walk through Thanalan and take a boat back to La Noscea, while he was far from in any danger his desire to reminisce would be interrupted. As he made his way through central Thanalan he would happen upon a group of Brass Blades struggling to deal with some Sledgehammer Beaks, naturally he rushed to their aide. And just as naturally the Brass Blades were wary of him and his magic. A swift exit was called for, however a Hyur girl he had taken hostage in order to try to prevent a bloodbath from happening at Kukulai's manor had followed him.

Angered at what he and the company had done she played with the Brass Blades wariness and turned it into fear and anger. The situation reminded him of the time he had saved a childhood friend and her mother. Synn was left with no choice but to kill the Brass Blades as they now meant to arrest or kill him. He made quick work of them and had meant to spare the girl out of guilt, but she would take her own life as Synn departed. Synn's guilt would linger and grow, but he couldnt let that stop him, he was getting married after all.

While Synn was getting the rings for the wedding, Adeya would hire a Private Investigator -Roelle Riviere- to investigate how the Paladins had found out about their "crimes." How they found out wouldnt reveal itself until some time after Synn and Adeya's honeymoon. Tucking away that worry for now the two of them would get married on the eighth sun of the third astral moon. A small celebration would follow with the rest of the company after the wedding concluded. Synn and Adeya would leave for their honeymoon early in the morning after that.

From Ishgard they would fly through Coerthas Western Highlands looking for a cave that would take them straight to the Dravania Hinterlands and they would find it, but not before stumbling across a nest of the mystical wolfs better known as Fenris. Synn had to defend himself as one returned to the nest just as they were about to leave. He would kill it, but the act brought him no joy as he and Adyea would learn that that particular Fenri was a mother to two young pups. As they had intruded on their den the two of them decided to take care of the young pups in their mother's stead, naming them Aqulio and Lumi. With the two pups in tow Synn and Adeya would set up camp where they did last time they were in the Hinterlands and play with the pups for a few hours and then sleep.

The next morning they went exploring and decided to find out what the goblins were doing in one particular building with what appeared to be a large furnace from first glance, at least it did to Synn. In actuality it appeared to have something to do with Aetherytes, but the goblins were using it to create bombs.Perhaps it was Synn's sense of heroism kicking in, but he wanted the thing destroyed or broken and gave Adeya time to do just that as goblins flooded in the building to get them out. Once Adeya had finished tinkering with the goblins makeshift bomb workshop they would both attempt to make their escape on top of their chocobos. Adeya and her bird would get out unharmed where as one goblin would land a shot on Synn's bird puncturing a hole through its wing. Synn narrowly managed to save both himself and his bird with some creative use of his dark magic. That bit of excitement put a hold on the rest of their adventuring in the Hinterlands.

For foiling their plans the goblins would ambush Synn and Adeya's camp the nest day. Their escape was extremely tense as the goblins hounded them with a cannon until they made their way into the Dravania Forelands. But even there the Goblins chased after them and just might have caught them were it not for the intervention of a dragon. Due to the peace treaty its kind had with Ishgard it would let them both go and considering Synn's bird should be recovering from its wound rather than flying around evading golbins, Synn and Adeya would head home early what awaited them, they could only guess.

Personality

Generally mistrusting and arrogant Synn keeps almost everyone at arm’s length with few exceptions being so far being his chocobo, Adeya Evenar – a female Miqo’te keeper whom he has worked with for quite a while now. And Asheloux Thalantos – An Elezen who’s a bit of an arse but has earned Synn’s respect by taking care of Mythril Wings and its members in his own way. Among current colleagues he has grown comfortable enough to be a bit more relaxed though not enough to completely open up to them. Among this group of people Synn has become fiercely loyal and protective of them, even more so for the two specifically mentioned. For everyone else –except Paladins and the religious-- he waits to see if they are worthy of respect before giving it out to them. To those who have earned his disdain Synn is rather foul mouthed, often mocking them with a condescending tone. For the most part however he’ll tend to keep his thoughts to himself provided said person/persons aren’t talking to him or those he knows and he is present.

From a young age Synn was always the inquisitive sort questioning why things are rather than just accepting it. This is thanks to the time he spent traveling Eorzea with his family seeing unique sights filling within him a sense of wonderment. Because of this he has spent some time among the guilds of the Gladiators, Marauders, Pugilists, Lancers, Rouges, Thaumaturges, and even the Arcanists learning a bit from each but ultimately feeling unfulfilled with what he’s learned until he became a Dark knight.

In most situations Synn is led by his heart instead of his head. This on occasion has caused trouble not only for himself but others as well. One example of this impulsiveness is where he’ll often shirk on his duties as a member of Mythril Wings to go traveling for a time. Considering himself a hero, Synn goes out of his way to look for people to help on his many adventurers and is quite eager to do so even more so since becoming a Dark knight to prove to all that “Even a Devil can be a hero.” As a Dark knight Synn’s pride in them, himself, and his “Devil” persona has grown exponentially, to reject or slander any of these would draw his ire.

Because of his pragmatic sense of justice and the loss of his family, he has developed a great deal of hate for the Garleans and is downright murderous whenever he encounters them. This type of behavior also extends to those he deems criminals. Even when not fighting Garleans or criminals Synn enjoys fighting anything and toying with them, proving to himself that he has become strong. However despite enjoying fights and the cool arrogance he exudes he is actually quite depressed, wanting to die for any noble cause (so far Mythril Wings’ being his main focus) which is the only thing motivating him to get out of bed. His interactions and apparent friendships with Mythril Wings’ members however have quelled his depression for the time being.

Since marrying Adeya, Synn has changed a bit. While he does still enjoy fighting he wont instantly snap to murderous behavior, but because of his darkside that aspect of him during a fight wont disappear and has a tendency to come out in particularly drawn out fights where he'll sustain multiple injuries, though more so against Garleans or whenever he fails to keep Adeya and others from harm. Other than that he has become more tolerant to strangers, but his dislike for Paladins still remains along with his arrogance.

Combat

Before becoming a Dark Knight it would be apt to say that Synn was bit of a Jack of all trades, learning a few tricks from almost all combat guilds. The conjurers guild being excluded from the guilds he went to because of his pride as a “Devil.” Now that he is a Dark Knight he incorporates all of the tricks he’s learned into the fighting style his grandfather is teaching him to keep his opponents off balance, rather than overpowering them.

After the events in the shroud where he nearly lost himself to his darkside, Synn no longer has a mentor to call his own. As such he has started experimenting with his dark magic. While yes many of his experimental use of his magic has it's flaws he still remains just as deadly as he was even when he wasnt teaching himself how to use his magic. His skills with a blade hasnt been falling behind either as there is no shortage of fights for him to improve from even if he sometimes causes said fights. His skills with other forms of magic however have started to rust the more Synn relies on his dark magic above all else.

Affiliations

Adeya Evenar - A Miqo'te Keeper who is a Nymian Scholar, whom Synn at first formed a complex friendship with after becoming a dark knight. That friendship, would eventually lead to Synn falling in love with her as the two of them spent time with one another and faced many of the headaches that came their way as their days with Mythril Wings continued. Later the two of them would get married and have a little adventure on their own, of which Synn knows that there will be many more to come.

Asheloux Thalantos - Now a noble of house Haton in Ishgard, still bit of an arse of an Elezen, but has since mellowed somewhat after becoming romanticly involved with Soren as well as adopting a child to get out of marriage.

Soren Shieldbreaker - The meddlesome Elezen who is Asheloux's lover. Synn at first didnt think much of him and believes him to be very naive on many things, but this Elezen would surprise Synn in more ways than one. The most notable one being him being a good influence on Asheloux and the occasional helpful relationship advice.

Solenne Lagarde - Like most new people Synn meets, Solenne was kept at arms length and only acted pleasant enough to not drive anyone away. Over time as Solenne helped the company during the many headaches they faced, Synn has grown to trust and rely on her a great deal, particularly because her skills as a healer.

Michaux Vidal - A duskwight and a scholar of Gelmora, Like Solenne, Synn has grown to trust him with dealing with the company's headaches and is intrigued by his new ablilities concerning memories. Synn has even considered talking to him about it and to see if he could take a look at his memories so that he could regain a clear picture of his parents. The effects of his abillites have on him after he looks at someone's memories however have given Synn pause.

Viotteaux Pairair - Another Elezen in the company who joined before the company's exodus to the mist. Synn doesnt know much of this Elezen, but he has proved useful in a fight and -like Solenne- loyal to the company.

Kurt Steel - One of the other Hyurs beside Synn to be a member of the company. Friend of Adeya's and thankfully he can also cook, which means Synn isnt the only one the others can pester for food. While Synn wouldnt call him a friend he has grown fond of the man as his many experience with the quicksand have been greatly amusing. There's also having him as another vanguard in the company's jobs which have earned Synn's respect as a warrior.

Aika Yukitsuna - Synn was reluctant at first, but Synn has taken this fiery natured Raen girl as his dark knight pupil. Most of the time Synn is just repeating what he was told from his grandfather and other times he just goes with what seems right. Which seems to have worked somewhat as this pupil is still alive unlike his last one. Maybe its because he doesnt want to fail at teaching another fledgling dark knight, but he has grown rather attached to Aika.

Mythril Wings & members - A small Free Company who Synn is extremely loyal. Several of its new members have yet to make a lasting impression, but that will come with time, of that Synn has no doubt.

Naois Heolstor(deceased) - A Dark knight and Synn's father and disowned heir of the Heolstor family.

Cinnia Heolstor(deceased) - Former Paladin now a Dark knight and Synn's mother.

Culain Bloom(deceased) - A friend of Synn's parents who is like an uncle to Synn.

Serene Bloom(deceased) - Culain's wife who is like an aunt to Synn.

Cara Aleena(deceased) - Once a friend now a dead Garlean.

Grindan Hall(deceased) - Cara's uncle and leader of the Garleans meant to take over a town near Ul'dah.

Lelia Hall(deceased) - Grindan's wife and aunt of Cara.

Cyril Teyrnon - Synn's adoptive father who with the help of his Roegadyn bodyguard forced Synn to pose as Lennard Teyrnon (the main reason for Synn's dislike for Nobles.)

Elmer Teyrnon - The only person of the Teyrnon family Synn somewhat likes.

Odelyn Teyrnon - Cyril's daughter her attitude being the second reason for Synn's dislike for Nobles.

Marielle Beaumontaire - Soren's sister and manipulative enemy of the company whom Synn would count among the Garleans for those he hates.

Ardenoix De Marchemont - Ishgadian noble of a minor house.

Other Notes

Now uses his father's journal as his own.

Wears his mother's pendant(her soulstone) and carries the sword his parents gave him when he was seven.

Has dabbled in each of the crafts found in Eorzea and has even sold what he makes. He is no master craftsmen though as most of what he makes are below average products.

Unintentionally he has become a decent chef as he was the only one who knew how to cook among all the members of Mythril Wings and he has been cooking their meals ever since.

Prefers spicy food over anything else.

Isn't really up for celebrating his birthday after Culain's death.

His dislike for Paladins comes from them being too lenient on criminals rather which is seen as a weakness in his eyes.

Isn't ashamed about fighting dirty.
