Ahya grew up in the Dravanian Forelands in a small village between dragon and Gnath lands. She was an only child to a lovely Miqote hunting family and a knack for getting into fights with the other kids thanks to her hot headed nature. As a wild kid, she got into a lot of trouble and many of the times came home covered in mud or bruises.
She grew out of most of that when she became a teen, taking up the family’s hunting profession and tending to the village’s chocobo stables. Learning the way of the bow taught her patience and a deep understanding for the way the world worked outside her village’s every day life. Ahya learned a few skills while she hunted, including tracking, skinning, and tanning, fashioning animal hide into clothing for the village and trading among the Gnath. As she grew older, she became tired of her village life. The only thing that seemed to keep her happy those days were taking care of the family’s chocobos and the stable. She knew she wanted to venture out and learn how the rest of the world worked and what other messes should could get into. When the Miqote turned 19, she decided it was time to try a new life, taking her bow and saying goodbye to her family as she ventured out. Her adventure would take her to many places; to the hot sands of Ul’dah, the crisp and cool seas of Limsa Lominsa, and the quiet, peaceful forests of Gridania. When she discovered the archery guild, she immediately took up lessons there, learning the way of how to handle her bow in battle rather than hunting. Ahya admired the way many of the archers learned to become bards, singing the most beautiful and inspiring songs. She knew right away that she’d want to try it, finding out she had a beautiful voice when she began to sing, fingers plucking a small harp the guild had given her. That is how she became a bard, thanking the guild for teaching her this new way of living. Taking this new skill of hers, she began to work for the Adventurer’s Guild in Gridiania, much smaller than that of Ul’dahs. It earned her enough gil to get by and she was fine with that, having a small house in the Lavender beds where she could kick up her feet and enjoy the forests of Gridania while carrying out small odd jobs around the area.
