General Information

In two words, genki idiot. Incredibly anxious at his core, but can't help being extremely extroverted and boisterous, so he gives off a sort of false confidence. Able to read people well, but naive enough that it doesn't get much useーin the same vein, clever and a good liar, but he only really uses that skill for trivial things, or maintaining that false bravado. Unfortunately, kind of lazy; would rather relax with a cold drink than do dirty work, with a few exceptions. Painfully easily embarrassed, especially at being shown affection of any kind, which is unfortunate. He's a chatterbox, though he does consciously try to restrain itーat least around strangers. Jury's still out on how successful he is at that. He's painfully aware of how "obnoxious" he is though, so...

Body Description: Rather muscular, since he puts a lot of his time into various forms of exercise. Thus, he's somewhat broad and stocky. However, he's got a bit of a case of babyface to contrast this. Has somewhat abnormally large teeth for a seeker, which can lead to his smiles being unintentionally threatening. Sharp claws that are often painted.
Extra Features: A long scar down the entire right side of his face, and freckles across his cheeks. A bit of scruffy facial hair from simply not being bothered to shave.

You could call him a wanderer, or an adventurer, maybe, but really, he's just flighty. He has what he views to be a bad personalityーwhen he gets comfortable around people, he gets louder, more talkative, and more excitable than he already isーwhich has proven to just annoy them. Thus, the solution he's decided on: just don't get close enough to people that they see him like that! Simple. No, he doesn't know how bad this is for him. He also doesn't seem to realize how much this sucks when taking the fact that he thrives on affection into account. I never said he was (emotionally) smart.

Normal mood: Generally, cheerful! Or at least looking like it. Laughs off his anxiety, which... seeing as he's perpetually anxious, he comes off as boisterous and upbeat.

Following his violent childhood and traveling with his Elezen & Au Ra mentors, he has long since picked up several bardic and alchemical skills but is aware he has many more years of learning and research to go through before he really knows his stuff. He is quick to catch the little, obscure details in things and has a damn fine memory. Strangely he also has a bit of a knack for predicting the weather but won’t go into details on the matter. Early Life

Childhood

Helski was born to a small family of the Qalli tribe, where he first recalls gaining his love of all things song. His mother had long since passed and was left with only his father, his half-sister from a Raen woman who too had long since left, and his paternal grandparents. When he was the equivalent age of 5 (with respect to human years) his tribe was relocating for the coming hotter months. Despite the best intentions of this task, Buduga scouts had been lying in wait while the tribe was focused on traversing the desert en masse. His father already exhausted from a difficult life was struck down without much fight alongside his grandparents. Fleeing into the desert with a group of other Qalli and his sister, they managed to take refuge in the soft limestone caves lining the trail. But the Buduga did not so easily give up and over the course of several days, most those hiding either fled, were killed, or taken prisoner. Being relatively small as a child it was easy for Helski to remain hidden, but his sister, fearful of staying still risked running out into the open, and her fate remains unknown to him. Helski remained hidden with a few other children until the hunger and thirst was too much to bear. It was by pure luck that a Kha excursion, returning with a large group of Elezen traders and explorers happened upon the savage aftermath while the children were picking food and medicine among the dead out of desperation.

Adolescence

Little expressed/known yet. One notable event was his decision to hide his Qalli namesake in exchange for Mourne. Spelled to reflect a local hill he recalled growing up and to mourn the loss of his family.

Adulthood

Helski spent the remainder of his youth with the Kha and traveled frequently with select Elezen mentors and benefactors, eventually deciding to follow them back to the Eorzean continent so that he could expand his studies and experiences. Most his interests have been wide spread and he is currently trying to determine where it is he wishes to specialize.

Recent Times

Has established a small abode within the safety of a Free Company where he can work and sleep without fear at night after his travelss

I'm brand new to FFXIV (Since August 2019, and therefore new to RP & the lore that comes in this game), so patience and tips are welcome items!

  Seriously if you are uncomfortable with RP'ing something out or how something went, you want to plan a specific plot/action, or just need to get something off your chest - DO IT! I don't bite and honestly find the best RP is a an open and communicative RP between players.

• Ghosting

  I'm understanding - no really. I get it, real life happens, the interest isn't there, time is nowhere to be found. Just don't leave me hanging. Take the 15 seconds needed to message me in game or on discord to say you want to cut it off.

• Tolerance

  I do not, let me repeat, DO NOT, tolerate Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Albelism, Misogyny or any form of extreme hate, and prejudice in my OOC or IC chats. PERIOD. If you have an opinion in that regard, okay keep it to yourself. Because to be honest, knowing and dealing with these is a total joy kill on a massive scale for me. So yeah just be a cool person and let's not huh?
