'''Chani Drift''' is a simple stray with a<strike>n unhealthy obsession</strike> love of three things: games, money and booze. Career-wise, she considers herself a specialist in the procurement and trade of goods. You want it, she can find it. At a price.
'''Cima Fhae''' (technically II) [''see-ma f/r/-ay'' (call her '''Fae''', lest feel her wrath)] is a... well, that is... Fae specializes in the procurement and trade of goods. Simply put: you want it, she can find it. At a price. And try not to ask too many questions - you could get a kitty cut.

She's a small, shapely thing - a once gawky foundation turned to womanform. Or turning, judging by the chub of her cheeks and occasional stumbles, fumbles and tumbles (she's a ditsy helmsman). Her voice is bubbly and boisterous (inside voice? what inside voice?) and her tongue as foul as a sailor's. A tad of fire touches her blonde hair and her eyes are the sky and the sea. Beyond that, no real noteworthy brands. She's got a dim-witted smile though.

A slight sprite of a creature with an elfin countenance, Fae is like... a ''cute shadow''... a ''lethal flower'', a... yeah. Deceptively tough: tread cautiously and avoid the dynamic duo that '''is''' her ''claws&jaws''. ... Also she has a knife.

Chani grew up as a typical Lominsan youth: playing pirates, pulling pranks on tourists, pissing off the deckhands... She was happy (even with three older brothers tormenting her mercilessly.) Unfortunately her mother caught a cold, and it developed, and one can see where this leads to. Except before her passing, their was hope. An expensive one. The family's father (a failing merchant) said ''"'Ey!"''... and turned to gambling. If he could just get that jackpot! Needles to say, he racked up some serious monetary debts (the drinking didn't help). And when the hope faded and the family should've moved on... well, he approached a pirate gang for financial assistance. Except after a while the benefactors suspected the father was attempting to weasel out of his servitude, and so the Knights of Barracuda were anonymously tipped off on a "major pirate den" at Chani's residence. Acting on this information, the Knights ransacked the place, setting it ablaze and arresting the three brothers. Luckily (or not so?), Chani's escape was masked by the ensuing takedown of her brothers. As for the fate of her father... well, none of it she's very sure on. And as there's nothing she's been able to do (or find) in the ten years since, Chani has drifted on with her life.

She is addicted to pipe-grass among various other substances and usually has a glazed or glassy look to her doey eyes. She clears her throat often and has a cough despite her soft, girlish voice.

If I get to pick a pig-tail hairstyle in character customization, that's what she's getting.

A loudmouth and tomfool, Chani is knowledge-starved and thrill-seeking. Trouble's her name and danger's her game. She acts out of her best interests and isn't above pushing someone under the choco-coach if it means another day of life in her lungs. I advise you to watch your pockets around this one: what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hers. And expect the unexpected. Or maybe she's predictably unpredictable. Good luck!

===History===

----

Fae was born in Gridania in the year 1562. Her mother died from giving birth and Fae still doesn't understand why her mother even bothered migrating to the city-state in the first place if she was just going to up and die on her. Was that her idea of a better life? Fae scoffs. (Her mother was also named Cima Fhae - the only thing Fae has that is her mother's.)

The white mages, being all righteous and such, sheltered Fae the orphan and eventually an apprenticeship was attempted. Except Fae didn't have a knack for that magick stuff. Her talents lay in the talk-of-the-town, reconnaissance on the adventurers and the happenings of the world. One conversation led to another and at ten-or-so-years-old, Fae found herself leaving her home-state with a particularly rugged-looking Roegadyn explorer (who thought she could make a half-decent lackey.) He took her to the hustley-bustley desert city of commerce, where she learned a thing or two or several (and information she doesn't relay readily and neither will I.)

Then there was the port-city, and she got her first taste of the salt-breeze. What I mean is her first gulp of sea-water. She sailed on ship after ship as a deckhand, and then she was among pirates! My, it all escalated so quickly. She wasn't an exceptional sailor in any regard and had a tendency to get sea-sick. On a positive note, she loved the minstrel ladies and lads aboard those ships, and found herself fancying an instrument of her own. Unfortunately though, Fae still doesn't have her own music-making tool. And it's 1577. In any case, she one day got back to land and the Roegadyn left her behind not shortly after (not that cruelly, though she kind of sees it as so - it was a voyage, and he couldn't afford to bring a kid along).

He never came back. So, through her "connections" and her "friends" she established something of a life for herself, and mostly sticks to her own company. She listens, though. She's always listening. And wandering.

A feely-feels sort of hermit. Quiet and reclusive; polite if approached, but otherwise keeps to herself and likes to work alone. Moody; emotional if well-acquainted. She is also a curious cat... and a sell-out. She's into material things and action. The rest is kind of... flaky. She's a space cadet too - but smart! Ditsy... but smart... when it comes to people, and giving them a read. Not that she cares for them, rather she takes an interest in them. A distant interest. In their needs, wants, fantasies, dreams, desires, motives. It's quite fascinating to her. Her sense of humour is dark, crude.

Fae operates under the guise of a "courier." In sketchier scenarios, she claims to be the "runner." In both cases she is the "middle man." She refers to her occupation as "Finders, Keepers," and can be discovered through grapevine marketing and/or innocent posters on tavern walls, etc. To hire, it is encouraged that you send word (safely) through friends or via carrier pigeon. Or something. Will work out the details on a later date.

Also, obviously, no reaaal gil is required for this role-play idea, I just wanna have an excuse to mingle with all sorts of character breeds (and have fun doing it!). The price of her services would be pretend-gil or shinies of some-sort or another. She collects rabbit trinkets.

I'm not sure what my schedule will be like at the time of release, but I hope to be able to invest a good chunk of my time into gaming and such. This should work with my character concept as Fae doesn't (necessarily) exist as a journeying companion (though adventure is FTW) and will be making appearances in small doses (I'm hoping medium doses, but...), due to the nature of her business and shy personality.

Stray Cat Strut

She's a small, shapely thing - a once gawky foundation turned to womanform. Or turning, judging by the chub of her cheeks and occasional stumbles, fumbles and tumbles (she's a ditsy helmsman). Her voice is bubbly and boisterous (inside voice? what inside voice?) and her tongue as foul as a sailor's. A tad of fire touches her blonde hair and her eyes are the sky and the sea. Beyond that, no real noteworthy brands. She's got a dim-witted smile though.

History

All Along the Watchtower

Chani grew up as a typical Lominsan youth: playing pirates, pulling pranks on tourists, pissing off the deckhands... She was happy (even with three older brothers tormenting her mercilessly.) Unfortunately her mother caught a cold, and it developed, and one can see where this leads to. Except before her passing, their was hope. An expensive one. The family's father (a failing merchant) said "'Ey!"... and turned to gambling.

Personality

Born to be Wild

A loudmouth and tomfool, Chani is knowledge-starved and thrill-seeking. Trouble's her name and danger's her game. She acts out of her best interests and isn't above pushing someone under the choco-coach if it means another day of life in her lungs. I advise you to watch your pockets around this one: what's yours is hers, and what's hers is hers. And expect the unexpected. Or maybe she's predictably unpredictable. Good luck!
