This wiki has a lot of templates. Some of them are easier to use than others, and some of them have some very specific purposes. Below, some of the key templates are listed, along with their intended use. Appearances are not provided for templates whose transclusion would end up tagging this page in an undesirable way.

Spoiler-related templates

Spoiler-related templates can be used to blank out parts of your page, to tantalize your readers with hidden information, or simply to warn about spoilers.

Template Appearance (if available) Usage
Template:Redacted  The information in this section is currently a sensitive secret, knowledge of which could alter the behavior of players. It has been redacted and will be added as it is revealed during play.  Redact a large block of text.
Template:Redacted-short  Redacted  Redact a short block of text, perhaps a few words at most.
Template:Spoiler
Spoiler notice: The following contains spoiler information. Proceed at your own risk.
Marks the beginning of a section of spoilers.
Template:End-spoiler
Spoilers end here.
Marks the end of a section of spoilers.

Citation templates

Citation templates should be used on all lore pages, which are required to cite sources.

Template Appearance (if available) Usage
Template:Reference-list not available Displays a reference list. This should be used at the bottom of a page.
Template:Cite-FFXIV-site not available Marks the previous block of text as having come from the FFXIV official web site. This also adds it to the citation list generated by Template:Reference-list.
Template:Cite-FFXIV not available Marks the previous block of text as having come from FFXIV itself. This also adds it to the citation list generated by Template:Reference-list.

Stub templates

Stub templates can be used to indicate that a particular item is, in fact, a stub.

Template Appearance (if available) Usage
Template:Character-stub not available Marks a character page as a stub, and places it in Category:Character Stub.

Help templates

Help templates can be used to request help or indicate that page requires attention.

Template Appearance (if available) Usage
Template:Help-me not available Marks a page, indicating that the author is requesting help with it, and places it in Category:Pages requesting help.
Template:Delete not available Requests deletion of a page by placing it in Category:Pages requesting deletion‎.
