Basic Info

Higura Gainishigi, Higgie to her friends, is a Mi'qote Seeker of the Sun. She believes that a good education is the foundation for a solid future, and dedicates her life to this cause. Naive, and impractical; she goes at great lengths to please everyone she can, going so far as to inconvenience herself for the happiness of others. Being a Magitek Engineer, she spends a lot of time tinkering with machina, and trying to pass this knowledge on to others. She's always overdressed, quite modest, and always eager to assist.

Appearance & Personality

Standing at five fulms and three ilms tall, and weighing at a hundred and eleven ponze, Higura stands with an elegant demeanor. Her violet eyes are almost always full of kindness, and if not; she gazes upon things in great curiosity. Her hair is shoulder length, and gray, with purple highlights. Given her desires to dress modestly, she's typically seen wearing sweaters, or other large clothing. However, she takes it to the extreme, and will also wear gloves, boots, and ensure she's covered completely from the neck down. Most of her clothing is in grape purple, as it is her favorite color. She can rarely be seen in a purple spring dress, but only for special occasions.

Personality-wise; Higura is a gentle, kind soul. She believes in the good nature of mankind, and this is ultimately her biggest weakness, as it causes her to be quite naive about how people work. Unable to wrap her mind around social conventions, she tackles every event if trying to analyze it like a robot; and when that doesn't work, she'll generally approach someone, or something with a shy curiosity. Always eager to help; she wants the best for people, so far that it doesn't matter what happens to herself. She does have a mean side, which is rare for her to display. It often requires someone to wrong her students, or those she cares about, or get in the way of her dream for a public Eorzean school.

Biography

Arriving in Eorzea naught but three moons before Ishgard opened its doors to outsiders; Higura showed up in Limsa Lominsa, slightly confused as to where she was. Displaying no aptitude for combat, and absolutely unable to cast spells of any kind, she went about people watching. Keeping her eyes and ears trained on passing people, trying to discover how to converse with them. Her attempts were none to successful, and she spent a lot of her time reading books on Machines, and the Garlean Empire. When approached by strangers, they would ask her where she's from; and she would claim that the past is not important, but the future. Always secretive about who she is, or where she's from, she spent several moons being an introvert.

Eventually, she decided to break out of her shell a little upon meeting an Au Ra who told her about a school; an academy of arts. Seeing this as her chance to use her knowledge on machina, she requested to be hired on as a Sceince and Engineering teacher. Over the course of the next five moons, she spent her time teaching young people about magitek, and joyfully spreading education freely, as it should be. However, a disagreement with the headmaster; over money, and power, forced her to depart from the academy; and become a homeless traveler once more. Many of the former staff and students followed her in her departure, and they vowed together that they would build a better school.

Unfortunately, as people are, they did not wish to stick around and live in an inn, in the middle of nowhere; so they moved on to find bigger and better things. Higura; however... Kept the dream of free education for all, in her heart. Teamed up with two of her former students, Kalm Yugure, and Yuja Joja; the three of them set about earning money to found a new school. Saint Reinette's University and Orphanage. Entering combat tournaments, fashion shows, and taking odd jobs; the three travel the land, seeking out the homeless, and the under-studied youths; hopeful to help them rise above their positions in life. To build a better future.

Miscellaneous

Notebook. She carries with her a small hard cover tome, filled with her notes and scribblings about people, and places. She's got a poor memory at times, with so much going on, that she references her notes on who she's met, and it helps her recall events or people.

Tattered old book. She caries with her an extremely old, tattered book. A hardcover book, in which the pages are so faded; that it can hardly be read. She claims its a memento, a romance novel about a hunter and a deer; but the book is in such a sad shape, that no one would ever know what it said.
