Pale-skinned, she burns easy, and rarely goes outside without covering up first. Her hair is naturally blonde, though the pink highlights aren't. Her hair used to be much longer, though it was recently cut short and done up in a more practical style. A set of owlish gray eyes generally sit behind a pair of thin-rimmed glasses, which cling tightly to her small, round nose. Her horns and scales both are alabaster in color. Well kept, they appear to have a soft sheen even in low lighting. Scars & Markings: Mugi has only two scars: a light one of about three ilms, diagonally crossing her left shoulder, and a much more prominent one on the left side of her head, though that's usually covered by her hair. Mugi outwardly seems bright, bubbly, a bit over-friendly, and definitely a bit dumb. A bit of a ditz, she likes mixing Hingan in with the common tongue, resulting in something Mugi would probably call “kawaii”, but it ends up just reinforcing the idea that she’s just a silly little girl of twenty summers. In truth, it’s more an effort Mugi makes outwardly to perhaps mask and overwrite the nagging anxiety she feels when amongst others (though she’s also trying to be cute, trust me). She is keener than she appears. Trust me. In more serious settings, Mugi drops the cute act almost completely. Even if she likes being that way, that two-sided social manipulation quickly becomes impractical in an operating room, or on a battlefield, when nobody cares about your effervescent personality. However, she has a harder time throwing away those deep-seated anxieties; she can bury them really well, even in a serious situation, but they’re still there. Especially when failure for her would be dire x370px "First of all, do no harm..." And sometimes, Mugi needs to hurt people. She won't hesitate if you're a threat, or an enemy, or you're someone who's hurt her. It's difficult to bring Mugi into this state, but when she's there, there's little stopping her from destroying you. The deepest, most repressed part of Mugi’s personality, is her desire to exact vengeance. She despises tyrants and abuses of power, having been subject to them throughout her life, and would prefer seeing them… brought to their knees. Likes Cute stuff! Favorite Color: Pink Favorite Book: Sakura Hanahi no Yuuutsu Born in Garlean-occupied Doman territory to a traitorous samurai and a housewife, Mugi is the youngest of three children. Her brother, the eldest, always disapproved of her father’s actions, and was swiftly put down for his heinous defiance, before Mugi’s eyes no less. The girl was of five summers, and that instilled in her one thing: that she must obey those stronger than her. Or else. As the child of a Garlean citizen and traitorous monster, Mugi never got along with the children around her; the meek, quiet girl simply was not liked due to her family, and consistently ostracized from any group she attempted to make herself part of. This often resulted in her locking herself away in her room to read, since books wouldn’t hit her with sticks or pull on her tails. Mugi’s mother fell seriously ill during this time, and thus became her first patient, since she was often the only one around to care for her. It was this proclivity for medicine that caught the eyes of Garlemald, and, at ten summers, Mugi was swept away, to study, in the terribly cold mountains of Ilsabard for the next seven years. Mugi never got along with her classmates at school, either. Most of them were purebloods, and here, this filthy Auri savage was outperforming them near consistently. The ire she gained from them was notorious; she would have had her doctorate with top honors, had she not caught the attention of an envious official whom stopped this ‘farce’. Shortly after graduating, Mugi decided she couldn’t take it anymore; the things she was being asked to do in Garlemald were simply ‘not right’, and she decided to flee. To where? To Eorzea, by managing to stow away on a boat from Hingashi to Limsa. She quickly secured employment with the Drakensguard shortly after that. Her initial time spent with them was hazy; she had developed insomnia months prior, and had been prescribed medicine to which she was now addicted. She took a short break from the company to wander about, training in combat and seeing the realm, before returning and taking up her post as a physician, to which she, for all her talent and knowledge, found herself actually lacking to fulfill. Had it not been for a certain Dunesgirl, she probably wouldn’t have fully realized all that potential locked away within her. The sisterly bond that subsequently formed between the two doctors has persisted; senpai and kouhai, now virtual equals. Sadly, Mugi once again became the victim to power, when she was nearly killed by her commander during a sparring match. There were no repercussions for that commander, and, sensing strong injustice afoot, Mugi resigned, and set off to do better. To cut out the world’s cancer… Medicine Mugi has been, since the tender age of ten, groomed for a position as a Senior Medicus. Her Garlean name even goes so far as to contain the title 'kir', to reflect this; and, as such, Mugi is a highly trained physician. Due to an extremely accelerated schooling, Mugi has a full medical degree, with high honors, and a lesser degree in alchemy. She can both perform surgery and, even though she isn't technically qualified to do so, make medicines to treat her patients. Even though she doesn't consider herself fully capable of doing so, Mugi has the skills to do near any surgery (save those on the heart and brain), putting her on par with most aetheric healers. She is most acutely trained in trauma care, and least trained in neurological medicine. Alchemy As mentioned above, Mugi has some degree of training in alchemy. A personal interest of her's, Mugi made it a point to take as many alchemy classes as she was allowed to during her time in Garlemald, affording her at least a basic understanding of everything from ceruleum engineering to the production of medicine. Though she may not get every reaction right on the first try, Mugi can easily find where she went wrong and make corrections to her technique. Gunplay A bit of a hobby of Mugi's is her use of gunblades. She has one, singular weapon of such type- [i]Ame[/i], a small, concealable gunknife she takes with her nearly everywhere. Having had an interest in the weapons since her father received his for his 'honorable' service, Mugi has made it a point to train on the weapon. Since she's not the strongest of girls, she mostly has to rely on clever strategy and well-aimed shots to win fights, rarely resorting to stabbing her foes up close.
