Appearance

Avalyn isn't a very imposing figure. She stands just an ilm over the average height for midland hyur. Her build is rather soft and undefined, except for her legs. They are only slightly defined due to all the walking she does on a daily basis. She can be quick on her feet if she sets her mind to it, but she usually relies on her magic to defend herself, which is made evident by the fact she is rarely without her staff or tome.

She was clearly made to reside in temperate, shady locales. She has very fair, white skin, freckles dotting her face and any other place that sees sunlight. Her hair, which was cropped short not long ago, is a deep, fiery red against her light complexion. Her large, doe eyes, are somewhere between blue and green. Depending on what light she's in, they can pass for either color, but in some places they are a nice mixture of both colors; the color of the ocean.

As for how she dresses, it depends on where she is. When she is in her native Gridania, she wears robes of earth or muted tones and boots that are suited for long walks through the forest. While in hotter regions like Thanalan or La Noscea, she isn't afraid to show some skin for the sake of comfort. She doesn't understand why people would look down on her for this, as she does it to keep cool, not to invite lecherous glances. But no matter what she wears, she always carries the scent of flowers.

Personality

Avalyn seems to be an example of the 'girl next door' archetype. She is usually very sweet, shy, and quiet. She makes it a habit to speak to people who are standing alone, in hopes of making a new friend and making sure the person isn't lonely. She has met quite a few people this way.

She can sometimes be trapped in a shell of nervousness, perhaps at times even extreme anxiousness. But this shell can be cracked with extremely good or bad interactions. When she gets along with someone, she can become very playful and friendly. On the other side, when someone makes her angry or frustrated, she has been known clearly voice her opinions, but without becoming violent. She is known to be an extremely pacifistic person.

When teased and flustered, she can become very scatterbrained and bashful, her words stuttered and mumbled. Certain types of jokes seem to go right over her head until they're clearly explained.
