Among her own people, she was a hunter, a shaman, and a mother, but she has drifted south, and lost her way. The bundle at her back wakes, and begins to wail. Inari is a gleaming thing wrapped in dark furs. Queer totems and amulets are woven in between the pale strands of her hair; beads of jasper and carnelian and turquoise, the phosphene gleam of tiger's eye, red-strung tassels and tiny feathers. Small braids and plaits are often laid in the thatch of her hair. Her lashes are thick, long and pale, framed by a heavy set of darker brows. A dark teardrop hangs between her eyes. Wide, phosphorescent eyes. She has the starved, huge-eyed look of a lone wolf. Her long, canid nose is strangely mobile as it sniffs, sneers, and her mouth is full and red, carnal. Her grin splits wide to reveal a jawful of sharp, yellowed teeth.

She seems shaped more for brutality than beauty, with her long hands and her short limbs, her thighs thickly corded with muscle, her forearms sinewy. But her hips blossom out of a narrow waist, and it's there that you see she's womanly; and what's more, that she's given birth. Tell-tale stretch-marks line her pale flesh in iridescent stripes. Her ribcage and shoulders are narrow, and her bust delicate, almost flat. Her form isn't without its softness; in a former life, it seems she ate well. There's a roundness to her figure around her hips, tapering down into her thick, compact legs.

Her tail is short and thick with light, fluffy fur, a soft, pale underlayer revealed when the darker, ashy overlayer is brushed up. It's ringed in dark spots that appear on the lower half of the tail, ending in a pale tuft of white. Her ears are small and dark-tipped, tufted with black fur like a lynx's, often adorned with earrings of teeth and beads.

Clothing ↠

At first glance, her clothing seems made purely for brutal practicality, hides and furs patched and pressed together for shape. Yet on closer inspection, her garments bear surprising details; geometric embroidery around the cuffs and hems, neatly sewn button loops and cords, beaded and fringed details. Her clothing is well sewn, though used, and always trimmed, even when she's travelling south, with rare furs, perhaps a sign of status in her erstwhile home.

Further north, she stifles herself in furs up to her throat, down to the wrist. The pads of her soles are accustomed to the wet bite of snow, but she wears thick, fringed boots - and thin leather sandals when the weather calls for it. Long, fur-lined gloves of leather reach up past her elbows. All manner of strange things are woven in the embroideries of her coat, and around her neck hang necklaces heavy with large jasper beads. Dark bands of tarnished silver ring her long fingers. What little of her body can be seen is usually painted in strange patterns of black, each line carrying a protective or spiritual significance.

Voice ↠

There's a halting cadence to her voice that betrays an uncertainty, a lack of command of the local language, or the otherness of her own. Her sibilant consonants and hard vowels sound strange and foreign to the ear, but her voice is surprisingly soft, and she manages to command one's attention while barely ever raising it above a murmur. Her accent carries the strange and ancient burrs of huntspeak, still commonly heard on the hilltops and valleys of her homeland.

She terrifies his heart, and well she knows. Guided by her spirits, she hunted him in the wood, though even they might not have guessed how things would go between them. Since then, the two exiles have been constant, if reluctant, companions since they were thrown together by the gods, and little by little, she's strung him in closer, promising him something rarer than gold: a fair night's sleep. Now, she holds him at night, and whispers her guidance close by his ear.

The second daughter of Raqah was created in her own image. While Inari was blindly obedient to their mother's will, Razha was the embodiment of it; warlike, brash, unyielding. The two women grew up together, only a year apart in birth, until Razha outstripped Inari half a head in height. The sisters share their pride in their people, and yet something of the competitive nature of the Qeithe lurks in each of their breasts; a long struggle to win their mother's approval.
