| − | Flynn was born in Ala Mhigo and came to Ul'dah after the Empire's invasion. He may look like a midlander, but due to his parent's mixed race he appears to be a weak Highlander. Because of his white hair, Flynn was bullied by the other kids and decided to fight back. He grew stronger and chased them away until he was left alone. The other kids ran away from him when he came to play. His mother passed away when he was eight years old. Around that time, Flynn lost his memory of everything that happened. He spent the next few days alone in the rough parts of the city located in the Steps of Thal. To survive he would often steal money from the rich folk. He would also do chores for the stall owners to earn food and sleep on the streets. One day he was almost caught stealing and bumped into two other kids, Lorric and M'risha, who he later became close friends with. A while later they were approached by a young elezen girl, roughly a few years older than them. She'd been observing them for a while and decided to be friends with them. She was very kind, different than other elezen and very interested in the bond the three of them shared. She was also a little envious that she didn't have friends like them. During the time they had before the calamity they occasionally played together searching for adventure. Flynn strongly admired the elezen and grew to like her.

| − | On the day of the calamity the young elezen left Ul'dah, telling her friends that she'd been chosen to join the battle of Carteneau and assured they'll meet again. Many months later the three friends had completely forgotten about the elezen girl, only remembering the warm feeling of a close friend.

| − | At the age of 18, two years after the calamity, Flynn joined the Immortal Flames as a Brass Blade. One day he set out on a mission with many others on a ship and returned alone. A fight broke out over who would claim the treasure they'd found. The crew planned to take it for themselves and retire but Flynn wanted to use it to help the refugees. During the fight Flynn tossed it into the ocean. One of the Brass Blades slashed Flynn through the back, he then reluctantly fought and killed most of the crew that tried to kill him. Flynn blacked out and watched the ship sink in flames from the shore when he came to. He returned to Ul'dah and left the Brass Blades, telling the Flames a fight broke out and he was the only survivor. Officially he was kicked out. For the next three years, Flynn stayed in his new apartment waiting for the elezen girl to appear. However rumours were spreading that heroes who fought in the Calamity were returning. Flynn continued to wait for the girl but ultimately decided to move on.

| − | Five years after the calamity, Flynn met up with Lorric and M'risha to go on a real adventure. They first travelled to Camp Bronze Lake in La Noscea, meeting other friends along the way. They then travelled to Little Ala Mhigo were Flynn fought with their leader. He tried to get them to fight the Empire and take back Ala Mhigo but the refugees wouldn't have it. They kicked him out. He then decided with Lorric to become Paladins as he would need the strength to take Ala Mhigo back.

| − | Growing up in the rough neighbourhood turned Flynn into a bit of a rebel. He is a laid-back person, blunt, kind but doesn't express it very well. He likes a good fight now and then and occasionally spars with his best friend, Lorric. Flynn doesn't like to talk much about his past, but when he does he goes as quick as he can. He gets extremely nervous with eye contact or close to physical contact. To boost his confidence he wears his late fathers' goggles to hide his eyes.
