On one of her routine trip to Doma via sea moons ago, the vessel that she travelled on mysteriously disappeared from sight, never to reach the destination. No debris have yet been found, however -- thus leaving a slimmer of hope that the passengers and crew members on the vessel on that fateful trip may one day return home safely.

With a knack for crafts, she helped them with threads and needles amidst the booming textile industry. However, when she was but eight summers old, she watched in horror as her parents got shackled and dragged away by a band of mages. "Syndicate's orders." Out of desperation, Jemmie attempted to chase after them. "...Fool." Struck by a strong surge of dark lightning shock, she lost consciousness. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in Gridania — sheltered by her aunt who was less than amicable. Now exiled from Ul'dah, she hid her given name and took on a new identity. She also lost all of her aetherical abilities and her aetheric reserve is now zero to none... TODAY Living right across the carpenter's guild, it was hard for Jemmie to not feel some resemblance with her parents' former occupation. She picked up the woodworking saw and trained day and night to hone her skills to near perfection under the guidance of timbermaster Beatin. She takes great pride in her crafts and hopes to leave her mark in this world through her crafts, no matter how small. She specializes in the art of crafting furnitures with a fondness in Far Eastern styles. Now an accomplished carpenter, she could easily make a comfortable living in Gridania working on commissions for the Twin Adders. But instead, she crawled on to her chocobo Mina's back and left the Twelveswood behind. Jemmie is, well, a travelling carpenter. An inauspicious occupation to be travelling, but she knew she must keep searching — for the world that was robbed from her. PERSONALITY Despite a rough upbringing, Jemmie holds onto hope. She is a cheerful, bubbly Lalafell that smiles and laughs a lot. She also likes to see the best in everyone, whether if it's because it comforts her or mere ignorance, is up to interpretation. Unfortunately, this also leaves her gullible and vulnerable. Some call her oblivious or even delusional for thinking her parents are still alive. Even as a master crafter herself, she's not good at making money and often gets eaten alive by her market competitors. She is not very well-versed and often gets "big words" wrong. But she is very polite and tries to improve her literacy by reading simple books! (Note: High chance of dozing off while reading.)
