Character

Background

Born 5th Sun of the 2nd Umbral Moon in the year 1553 of the Sixth Astral Era to a merchant family from Doma of moderate wealth, Hyunae Yii spent much of her childhood travelling between Doma and Eorzea due to her father's business trade. It was not until 1562, during the Garlean invasion of Mor Dhona, that blockades in Eorzea would prevent the Yii family from returning to their home country of Doma. Due to the rising refugee population and exclusion policies of Ul'Dah, the Yii family settled in the city-state of Gridania. It is here that Hyunae would begin learning the ways of conjury from the Conjurer's Guild as well as academic studies and playing the piano, all at the behest of her father.

Currently, she is employed with the Harbingers of Dawn, working under Saint Mimiru Miru as a support cleric.

Appearance

Hyunae stands at 5 fulms, 4 ilms tall, and has brown hair that reaches down to her chest. She has brown eyes and fair skin, with a slim figure. With her father's trading profession, Hyunae is often seen wearing the latest of Eorzean fashion.

Personality

Hyunae presents herself in a polite and demure fashion, her father having her learn formalities of the nobles in hopes of becoming part of the upper caste. Because of her time with the Conjurer's Guild, E-Sumi-Yan sought to counter the effects of a spoiled upbringing. As such, she is often willing to lend aid to whoever is in need.

While her studies has brought her much knowledge of the histories of Eorzea, she can be stubborn at times despite her naivete. This often leaves her at odds with those who would suggest things that contradict what she's learned from her books.

Likes

• Tea: Hyunae's knowledge of tea and preparation of was cultivated by years of her upbringing.
• Fashion: Hyunae often indulges herself in the latest fashion trends of Eorzea, due to her father's constant trading.

Dislikes

• Uncleanliness: Due to her upbringing, Hyunae has always been wary of uncleanliness. Often, this will stand in the way of any altruistic undertakings.
• Loud Noises: Hyunae has a strong dislike of loud noises, and will attempt to seek refuge from such immediately.

Hobbies/Talents

• Piano: Having learned at the behest of her father from a young age, Hyunae is quite talented with pianos and harpsichords. Her favorite pieces are waltzes.
• Study: She will often be found buried in books. This has resulted in somewhat of a curious nature.
• Culinary: Years of helping and instruction from her mother, Hyunae knows many dishes originating from Doma.
