Sho is a refugee from the land of Doma that escaped during the Garlean invasion. Unlike the majority of escaped Domans who followed Yugiri Mistwalker, Sho did not care to idly wait for the figure heads of Eorzea to approve of their being there, when the refugee ship he boarded made land he immediately set forth on his own. Sho (to his knowledge) has no living immediate family members. Anyone that didn't die during the fighting of the invasion was likely killed during interrogations or to serve as an example to others who failed to comply to Garlean control.

Most Eorzeans who've encountered Domans would consider them very well mannered, even stoic. In the case of Sho Minazuki however, that assumption would be remiss. He can be incredibly brazen, short tempered and self absorbed at times. He often has a complete lack of empathy for others (likely a result from the invasion) unless he sees a potential for personal or financial profit. Indeed, If its not about gil, fighting, or women, Sho is probably not interested and wouldn't have a problem saying as much to your face.

In terms of Combat, Sho learned much of his fighting abilities from a sect of Ninjas in Doma before the downfall, he is extremely adept with a blade, but his lack of interest in the intricacies of Ninpou leave his casting of mudras something to be desired. Sho lilkes things done in the most direct and fast way possible, alot of times his lack of tact cant get him into trouble. Sho's most prominent physical feature is his left eye that was rendered unusable during a his time battling the Garleans before his escape. Despite all of his shortcomings, he has proven to be a more than capable assassin and bodyguard if fetched the proper price.
