Vetiver Chastain (17th Sun of the 5th Umbral Moon) is a healer and archer for hire. Born as Pahja Aliapoh, she left home during her late teens to further her studies in conjury, a path that would lead her towards romantic tragedy.

Appearance & Personality

Tall for a Miqo'te, slender and athletic in build, pale peach-pink complexion with naturally silver hair, well kept. Her face is soft and wise with somber, golden night flower eyes. Some would consider her looks 'ideal', though she rejects the compliment entirely.

A lengthy, off-kilter scar runs up the Keeper's torso. It starts from the lower side of her stomach, through her cleavage, ending slightly above the bust.

Vetiver is kind and compassionate to a fault, willing to sacrifice her own well-being to safeguard those she cares about without any regrets. Her desire to protect and nurture is strong.

Confident, flirty and forward with a silver tongue, she rarely lets down her guard; hiding underneath that enduring surface, however, resides a terribly lonely, heart-broken woman suffering from long-term emotional pain, several years running.

Biography

Childhood

Despite her fierce adherence to tradition, Cemi Aliapoh saw the benefit to raising her daughter in modern Eorzea society, thus Pahja Aliapoh was born in Gridania on a humble 5th Umbral day, far removed from the tribal lifestyle her mother once knew.

A shy child early on, Pahja frequently found herself the target of bullying from both children and adults alike due to her comparably unusual appearance, Miqo'te ears, tail and bone structure a far cry from the more common Hyur and Elezen of the civilized Twelveswood.

Pushed towards introversion, Pahja soon found herself preferring the comforts of self-taught magic and literature over attempts at rejected socialization. Other interests included archery and music, both gifted from her mother and amongst her fondest memories of their time together.

Teen Years

Pahja's desire to learn only strengthened as the years continued to pass by. Though soon comparable in skill to her mother in archery, magic continued to be her true forte, eventually exceeding most all her would-be peers in the field of high-level conjury, moderate arcanistry and base thaumaturgy.

The true turning point, however, was a chance meeting with 'Patchouli', an eccentric Padjal who saw it fit to train the then eighteen year-old Keeper in the forbidden arts of white magic. Pahja left home alongside her mentor the same year, taking on a name of her own choosing: Vetiver Chastain.

Adult Life

Eight Years of Patchouli

From student/teacher, to friends, to lovers; that was the course of their relationship. Vetiver's confession to Patchouli came a year after their fated introduction during a Twelveswood thunderstorm. Sex in the rain followed in its wake.

Blossoming in the ensuing passion was a latent wit and confidence within Vetiver, strengthening further as their love continued to grow, year after year; not even the fall of Dalamud could manage to break their enduring bond.

Terminal illness, however, was another story.

Left to helplessly watch as her beloved Patchouli withered away in little under a year's passing, a painless death in Vetiver's arms would bring an era of unconditional companionship to a halt with nothing more than a singular, soul-crushing stroke; eternally eighteen, but mortal all the same, aether returned and the Keeper's heart forever shattered.
