At six fulm ten ilms, the stature of a noble and the build of a career knight, Dee is a formidable sight no matter the fineries she drapes herself in. Her age shows in the silver strands of her hair and the scattering of crow’s feet at the corners of her eyes, in the sinew of her neck and notches in her long-fingered hands.

She takes her appearance very seriously, and her face is almost always powdered to a dusky silver, her lips painted with a tar-like wax. Her clothes are expensive and impeccable, her armor shows wear and use, but is always expertly maintained.

She has few scars of note: a thick and ugly one runs across her midsection and around her waist. Repeatedly healed, thin lines litter her back and legs.

Personality

I fell into the pit of her heart.

Friendly and personable, there is always an edge to the way she talks. She can appear warm, even matronly, and often fakes senility and blames old age for the sake of gaining people’s trust.

Her outward kindness is a construct: compassion is foreign to Dee, and so is altruism. Everything she does is a means to gain something in return.

She speaks with an urgent intensity, walks with a sure-footed gait, and moves with a practiced elegance when needed. In private and in lesser company, Dee is prone to indulgent hedonism and displays of jovial cruelty. She adores romance, poetry, and the arts, often comparing her own conquests to works of popular fiction.

House Foileux

Little is known about the Foileux house publicly, other than its service to Dzemael as retainers and cooks. They have been in service to to the High House for almost five hundred years, and traditionally helped to maintain the household by overseeing the transport of goods to and from noble residencies.

The Rat on the Foileux sigil is representative of the minor House’s guile and persistence despite the unfortunate circumstances (of deaths and poisonings and murders and burnings and--) that seem to plague the Duskwight family. It is also the symbol of their greatest achievement: smuggling, storage, and contraband of forbidden items within Ishgard’s walls.

This knowledge isn’t available to anyone outside of the high ranks of Dzemael affiliation. A long-running network of smugglers employs people of all marks and backgrounds from all corners of Eorzea. Their primary imports are liquors, rare ingredients, forbidden tomes, and art. Inwardly, the Foileux house is exactly like it’s chosen animal: deceptive, resourceful, and driven by greed.

Current head of the House is Gaidedee’s sister, Isabelle Foileux. The younger of the two, she maintains the position as the only heir-bearing sibling in line.

Most Houses tend to avoid them, or even pretend that the Foileux line does not exist -- a smuggler’s hands have a sticky reach, and no one wants to be labeled a heretic at behest of some unfortunately discovered items. Nevertheless, their services are highly sought after by those that are willing to pay the price.

Gaidedee has mysteriously appeared in Ul’dah around the time the Calamity struck and has quickly plunged herself into the party scene: by being able to provide rare and seedy items at the moment’s notice and providing jobs for poor, unfortunate souls fresh from the disaster. She has since “retired”, gaining a cushy job in the Lavender Beds as a provision retainer and cook.

• + She is highly trained in sword, shield, and most common arms. She appears to rarely use magic, relying instead on her technical ability and stamina.
• + She’s an excellent cook: used to a life of excess and feasts, most of her dishes are lavish and extravagant in execution.

She has taken to crafting new identities for wanted criminals, hiring them on her own gil and paying off their bails (with the threat for doubling those, should they inevitably fuck up). Please be aware that her criminal background is not public knowledge (unless your character is a high-ranking Dzemael-affiliated Ishgardian) and her image is impeccably maintained. Any "dirt" on her would need to be gathered ICly and pre-approved by me first. I'm not opposed to criminal investigations or even character death, if the story is good enough! Unconfirmed rumors are always welcome.
