It wasn't until his late teens that he became more comfortable working independently, and by the time he was twenty, he was able to be called on as a mender in his own right. It was during that time that he met his first wife while mending her mangled leg. They went on to wed and have two children of their own. When the King of Ruin rose to power, his wife had already fallen ill, and he was unable to fix what ailed her. However, he made sure to make her as comfortable as possible and took care of her full time. It wasn't until the Garleans came that he was faced with a decision. He could help his children escape and stay with her, or leave her there and get out with the kids so they had their father. It was ultimately her decision that all three of them get out, so with a heavy heart, he abided by her wishes. ▼ CURRENTLY
With both of his children finding success in their lives, Gideon has recently taken to just doing his own thing around Eorzea. Mostly, he will come as a freelance healer to those who call on him as it is his own true skill in life. He continues to support his kids as he plan to until he dies.
