She eats what she wants and that's the way she likes it. ▹ Has a scar across the bridge of her nose, but good luck getting a straight answer about how she got it. Her far fetched stories range from facing fearsome beasts to combating a mighty villain. In reality, it was out of her pure clumsiness and is why she doesn't like to use swords. ▹ Her style is based around comfort and functionality with many a bulky, over-sized shirt cluttering her wardrobe. Though she does wear the occasional pink or red (they are her favorite colors after all), Reese tends to wear a lot of darker neutral colors like black or brown. Skirts, short shots and dresses are only worn on rare events. Doesn't care for showing off her body. ▹ No matter the length of her hair, expect it to be messy and barely taken care of. She tends to highlight her chestnut brown hair different unnatural colors that strike her fancy (such as pink or blue). It always looks like she just just woke up even if she tried to brush it that morning (or whenever she /did/ wake up that day). It just seems to have a mind of its own. ▹ Her skin is a pale rosy pink with her cheeks being the reddest. It's almost as if she has a permanent blush, but when she does become flustered her entire face turns red. Speaking of red, the poor thing seem incapable of tanning. If left alone in the sun without protection of some kind she burns to a crisp. ▹ Reese's eyes are a deep sapphire blue that sparkle and glitter when the light hits them just right, almost as if they were gems. They also gleam into life when she is excited and even seem to dim when she is sad. The eyes are the window to the soul and it is clearly evident with this young woman. N O T E S ▹ Was found abandoned in the Black Shroud when only a newborn and quickly turned over to the local orphanage in Gridania when no one claimed her. Her nameday is the day she was found for sake of convenience. ▹ Reese was named by a lottery system that the orphanage uses to name nameless babies. In other words, her name was drawn from an old dusty hat with shredded pieces of paper inside. ▹ At the orphanage, she met the crotchety Triopheone Claribon who insisted that all children refer to her as their mother as long as they were in her care. Since Reese was never adopted, she just views the hard old Elezen as her mother. ▹ Desperately wanted to be special when she was younger and would watch the mirror every morning to see if she started to develop anything unusual (cat ears, elf ears, a tail, ANYTHING), but that was never the case. Gave up on the dream when she became a teenager, but that didn't stop her from wanting to be special in some way. ▹ Reese didn't experience much trauma from the Calamity other than the influx of orphans it brought into Gridania. Suddenly she as even more overlooked as all sympathy went to those who suffered from the Calamity. Reese ended up withdrawing into her shell and stopped trying to get noticed. ▹ Has always had a fondness for fairy tales, but after the Calamity she became rather obsessed with them for a time. Since she was spending so much time alone, she went through a lot of books and it is still a weak spot for her. During this time of isolation Reese also ended up with a lot of quirks that she never really grew out of (such as talking to herself or naming things). ▹ Even though she has been deathly allergic to Acorn Nuts (and avoids nuts in general) all her life, it only became a nuisance as she got older when she started to have to make her own meals. Since she hated to cook it was hard to find the motivation to find quick and easy snacks that didn't have some sort of cross contamination with the nut. Finding restaurants is the worst. ▹ When she was 18 she was forced to rent an old closet turned room from the orphanage since she was no longer of age to get adopted. Since she could no longer mooch off Triopheone for food OR shelter now, she was forced to find a job. Reese ended up working for anyone that would give her the time of day - some of them even twice. ▹ By the fourth job that she either quit or got fired from, she had had enough of daily life and the responsibility that went with it... Reese was convinced that there was more to life than working, sleeping and eating. She began to daydream about the possibility of adventuring like in her storybooks though she doubted she could do it. ▹ The spark that changed her mind about adventuring came from an Ul'dahn merchant by the name of Harald Goldblade. He was selling items she had never seen before up close (not like the bows and lances she typically saw) and she was mystified. Reese ended up impulse buying her first weapons and armor from him though she didn't have enough gil to cover it all. ▹ Harald offered her a deal in order to pay off the debt - work for him until it's paid off. Reese was too starry eyed over her new equipment to say no and agreed. Little did she know this would change her life forever...
