When he was adopted by an Ishgardian family Luca had been consumed with the dark arts. He had become obsessed with the abilities in manipulating and bending the elements to his will.

As a child, Luca had excelled well at charming nobles as well as the wealthy in becoming their favored servant. Being favored by the rich and power had brought Luca a huge advantage, the young miqo'te managed to manipluate his way through the nobles of Ul'dah to gain access in the Sultana's royal court.

The name grew on the miqo'te and he had embraced it as his own; yet his number "#02170" will play a huge significance in his future. At 16, Luca had become accustomed to the palace life, being head over the servants quaters. Being good at the job he had been given, Luca was able to catch the eye of an Ishgardian noble. The elezen noble had admired the miqo'te for his wit, tactfulness and his cunning way of manipulating people for his own gain.

One Fateful night, Luca was suddenly awoken within his plush sleeping quarters. He was instructed to pack all of his belongings for he was not returning to the palace. Confused and scared, the young miqo'te found himself traveling far from the Ul'dah capital, leaving behind the only home he had become so accustomed to.

The Au'Ra noble was a man fueled for power as well as politcal power which lead to his untimely death. Knowing no other father, Luca had grown to respect Etienne even love like a son should. After the noble's death, Luca became heir to his father's fortune but found no interest in staying in Ishgard. After his father funeral, Luca had packed the belongings he had treasured and set off for a new home and future. He visits Etienne's gravesite from time to time, leaving a fresh bouquet of red roses for the noble.
