He lived within a Keeper tribe that held it’s traditions quite high, a role model to other surrounding tribes. At a young age there was plans of him to get married to a friend of his parent’s daughter from a neighboring tribe after he passed his coming-of-age trial at age fifteen. He had to prove himself to marry her. The expectations for him were quite low and some didn't believe he would even be able to complete the trial since he was considered the runt of the tribe, the only ones to encourage him were his parents and the very person he was engaged to in this arranged marriage once he met her, a Miqo’te by the name of Y’shtaka.

Despite that the two did get along with each other, even if they would only see each other occasionally. It chased him and he barely avoided getting a face full of paralyzing gas and spit though it did get one of his legs, causing Resh’a to fall and drop the egg which cracked and spilled out onto the ground. With his leg paralyzed for the moment the situation looked quite dire until Y’shtaka suddenly stepped in to take a hit from the Basilisk’s claws. It broke her mask and hit her across one of her eyes, making her fall back onto Resh’a. It was only then that the Elders took action and intervened, bringing down the beast. Y’shtaka was not suppose to be there and more importantly rules and traditions had been broken.

| − | By boat, Resh’a was taken across the sea to the continent of Eorzea and was dumped in the middle of nowhere in a snowy landscape. He was alone and scared and didn’t get very far when he actually tried to get anywhere, it was too cold for him. A woman did come across his body laying in the snow and took him to were she was from, the great city of Ishgard. Foreigners were not welcome to the region but being just a child the woman, a kind Elezen noble, took it upon herself to adopt the boy.

As he grew up with her Resh’a was quite fascinated by her skills and repeatedly asked to be taught which the Elezen eventually caved and agreed to do. Just one newly hatched dragon that was too small to ever make it out on it's own. For awhile he secretly tended to the small dragon, bring it food and even falling asleep with it one night, until his now scaley friend seemed well and big enough to be out on his own.

Once he was back to his old self though he joined the city in rebuilding their homes before once again taking up his lance to protect Ishgard as a Dragoon.
