'"Khal Malaguld"' is a sellsword from Othard, a member of the Malaguld tribe and one of the most dour individuals you're likely to meet. He and a few others from his subsect of the tribe were sent to Eorzea to collect goods and supplies to send back to the homeland, and he does his part by lending his spear to the highest bidder and hunting the most dangerous prey he can find. While not a fan of what he perceives as typical Eorzean flippancy he nonetheless takes work from most who offer it to him, and at least tolerates those around him provided they don't mean him any physical harm.
