The first being it's modified design allowing it to cruise as substantially higher altitudes and with increased speed. Both recognizes the need for larger equipment and therefore a reinforced hull. The frame of the ship must also be increased, as one of the modifications included the melding of ice, lightning, and wind resistant materia. The second reason of the manacutter's larger size is the partial implementation of an auto-functioning and heavily modified magitek vanguard. How does one spend their "happy ending?"
While trudging through the darker moments of her life, Lsael often looked to the sky. Envying the birds and airship pilots; the sense of 'freedom', that at the time, felt like nothing more than a distant dream. So when Lsael found herself with a substantial amoung of gil, she took that opportunity to a buy a brand new Manacutter. Free to fly it wherever she desires. A self-taught mechanic, wandering explorer, and skilled pilot. Lsael discreetly put aside her sword, shield, and other pointy business tools to seek a life in the skies.

Basic Info
- - A quick reader, but horrible writer. Most often opting to doodle instead. Oddly enough, she's actually quite good at sketching and drawing.
- - Instead of keeping a diary, she tends to collect books as keepsakes for special events or jobs. Opting out on high quality tomes as payment for her services instead of gil in the past. Whilst wandering the streets away from her captors as a child, she often found respite in the arcanist libraries which dotted the city. Being around books made her feel safe, which is probably why there is an overabundance of them in her apartment. And when we mean overabundance, the girl could practically start her own library. From children's picture books to long lost allag transcripts. Her travels have left her far and wide throughout Eorzea, and each book in her possession is a testament to that. Note; she's read them all.
- - After assisting some adventurers with a Necrologos leve in hopes of attaining the book for herself. Lsael found herself a treasure coffer with an Atrophied Atomos within. Consuming her satchel of crystals at the time, the creature stuck with the Xaela ever since. Gobbling up whatever she would offer it whether it be scrap metal, food, or just general trash. In exchange as a floating trashcan, the Xaela finally got some much needed company for her long travels. She gives it many names like "Cheeky Lil' Bastard" but "Tomo" is what she's taken to calling it. Lsael also tends to keep it under a strict leash, as the atomos tends to bite when spoiled with food.
- - Having been raised around pirates and Roegadyns, she's grown to have a very high tolerance of alcohol. Thus, Lsael is often caught with several hard drinks when visiting taverns or bars.
- - Due to the circumstances of her arrival to Eorzea, Lsael doesn't actually know where her birth place or home country is. This was hinted to her though when a large score of Doman refugees began moving into Mor Dhona. Many of which approached the clueless Xaela in their native tongue, asking for directions. It seems like only those who hail from Othard can recognize enough of her appearance to assume she was a fellow countryman. While Lsael had taken the strangers' assumptions to heart, it still remains a mystery to her as to where EXACTLY she was from.
- - Her manacutter is actually quite large for it's type. Roughly 60% larger. This is due to two reasons. The first being it's modified design allowing it to cruise as substantially higher altitudes and with slightly increased speed. As well as the G-forces that is inflicted upon her body during high-speed flight turns. Inadvertently, it seemed like she had prepared for this role all her life, which is fitting given just how much she adores this new job of hers.
- - At the time, she's formally inducted as a First Lieutenant in the Immortal Flames. Yet lives in the Topmast Apartments in Limsa Lominsa and is formally a Lominsan citizen.
- - Lsael has worked as (informally) a private security guard, mercenary/sellsword, courtesan/whore, caravan escort guard, smuggler, pickpocket, barkeep, cartographer, treasure/bounty hunter, and for a week or so- a scullery maid.
- - Lsael's soulstones are the following. Listed from currently most used to least: Machinist, Paladin, Warrior, Ninja (preferring more so the Rogue), Monk, Dragoon, and Dark Knight. Lsael is also a blacksmith and armorer specialist.
Appearance & Personality
- Lsael is a young adult Xaela. She is slim, curvaceous, yet otherwise maintains a well balanced figure. Lsael stands at 5 fulms 8 ilms, which is noticeably taller than other female Au Ra. She has short black hair with red highlights. Occasionally her hair will grow out, but poor maintenance only sees it grow so long, most often covering the left side of her face with her bangs. A habit formed when she was still a training gladiator. Lsael has red and yellow eyes enclosed in black limbal rings. She was actually blind in her right eye up until she was 19 until the Calamity happened and mysteriously restored her vision. Wears goggles and often wears double layers whilst flying to keep the wind chill from freezing her over.
- Growing up, long periods of her life were often devoid of social interaction. This has made Lsael very much the silent type. Thanks to her isolationist tendencies, she could go for months on end between conversations. But even then, those who catch wind of her find it difficult to describe her as brooding or gloomy. And describe her more among the lines of apathetic. Lsael seems to show little care about the world and politics unless it directly relates to herself or her safety. Despite this she remains oddly well mannered to strangers given that they show her equal respect.
- On the topic of respect, she absolutely HATES those who think they are above others. Racists, High-born, politicians and stuck up rich merchants alike. Having grown up with her own set of struggles, Lsael could easily relate to those less fortunate. Even often giving away what little she could afford to mewling children and beggars alike. Garleans are also on her "disliked persons list" but for the most part, only takes that up to the fanatics. If given the proper respect or shows no sign of taking conflict with her, Lsael could care less if they were a spy and such.
- Her main deterrent in an argument though remains unchanged throughout the years as hyper-aggressiveness seems to work for her most of the time. If an Elezen continues to harass her after being asked to leave twice, she WILL NOT hesitate to put a bullet in their thigh. On a separate note, she's on a low alert criminal list in Gridania for this very reason, which is why she never frequents the city proper.
- What little friends she has, would describe her as a blunt and straight-forward individual. Though at some moments crass or politically incorrect. She does not shy from the truth of the conversation, often stating her opinion regardless of people's reaction or consequence.
- Years of strife have tempered her will, which is readily apparent when she fights. Lsael is an amazing fighter, and very much so physically capable. Yet despite this she is considered average or below when accounted for her magical prowess. While her endurance, tenacity, strength and quick reactions are well accounted for. Her mental fortitude is often not up to par. People who readily interact with her notice Lsael's tendencies to skip around personal questions. Often surrounding herself with a veil of lies, or avoiding certain conversation subjects entirely. Past party members who have traveled with the woman may have noticed she was much more susceptible to certain mental abilities or debuffs when caught in them (such as Charms, Confusions, Fears).

Combat and Ability
- As a child she grew up with her father's stories of graceful fighters doing flips and turns mid-combat. Though now, as a grown woman and capable fighter herself, she quickly realized this just wasn't feasible in plate armor engaged in rough uneven terrain. Rather, throughout her work in Ul'dah as well as her experience as a privateer at one point. Lsael sort of develops a 'lazy technique' style of fighting. Figuring this while watching the mages practice a form of "stutter stepping". Lsael's fighting style revolves around "Grazing" her opponent's hits through parrying or avoiding blows at a hair's distance with minimum movement required. Using a constant forward moment to respond to her assailant in kind. Delivering counter-attacks in quick, ruthless, and accurate succession. Her high spatial awareness, combined with short skips and long dashes. This style proved widely successful throughout her days in the gladiator's guild, and has proven it's worth to this day. While this technique placed her in some vary dangerous positions. Her scrupulous thinking and quick reactions made sure the risk was often worth the reward, and helped set her apart early on from the rest of the fighters.
- Even now, she still continues this by force of habit. As a machinist, even when given the advantage of ranged attacks she much rather prefers close quarters combat. Even more riskier, if not for assistance of the wide variety of tools under a machinist's disposal all given times.

Miscellaneous/IC notes
- Lsael's full name a combination of two slurred instances.
- Her first name was when she was found by her stepfather, repeating after him when he said the words "Let's sail" whilst dipping in and out of consciousness.
- Her last name was given to her by her stepfather. Knowing that giving her his own last name would never identify the Xaela as his own flesh and blood. Instead He gave her the name "Elilswerd", meaning (Exiled/Foreign-Sword) A testament on how he first encountered the feisty young lass jumping onto a garlean soldier and stabbing him with his own knife.
- Due to her tomboyish personality as a child, he figured a male's naming convention fit her perfectly. Though senility and constant drinking over the years took a toll on the old Sea Wolf's speech pattern. And to the young impressionable child, the words "Elilswerd" soon became "Elswer"
- When her Echo ability is activated, Lsael will often avoid switching to her Dark Knight soul crystal. This is due to the fact that her Darkside form, is actually slightly weaker than how she usually is normally. The only real difference is that her "emotional limit" taken entirely out of the equation, and is merged with her current self. Years of struggle, abuse, and neglect eerily transforms the normally tame Xaela into a silent shade of her formal self.
- Like the previous mention of Lsael's darkside. She also has a few other limitations in regards to her other jobs. Due to the nature of her Dark Knight skills, she is unable to access 'Darkside' unless she is in her echo form. Due to the incident with her Dark Knight class, it had also effected her Warrior skills. Unable to access 'Defiance' unless she's placed under a significant amount of stress, often near death. Her 'Deliverance' stance remains unchanged oddly enough. She doesn't entirely have the 'Blood of the Dragon' mastered yet, so utilizes her Dragoon skills mostly as utility rather than actual combat. Her impatience has left her unable to master 'Chakra' So Monk abilities requiring it are out of the question.
- Lsael is almost certain that she's of doman descent, as hinted by the surge of refugees. Yet she does not identify herself as one, and find the foreigner's habits and traditions to be weird. She also had not known of any other Au Ra such as herself until the recent migrations. So when often asked if she follows tribal traditions, Lsael often states that she finds more things in common to the Lominsan natives than to that of her own race.
OOC / Info / Author's Notes
- rough overview of grammatical errors... still 70% done iirc (1.3x)
- Pretty sure her name origin needs work. I only gave the Roegadyn naming conventions a passing glance >__>
- Profile could easily be modified to fit the "Warrior of Light" role. Just include that she was Hydaelin's chosen much earlier than in-game, roughly around the same time as the Calamity and her eye sight was restored.
- While in-game heights are all the same, she's actually 5"8. Standing almost as tall as a max height male miqo'te. It must have been all that booze <__<
- She grew up to be a rather tame and docile individual given her circumstances...
- A lot of her IC fighting style involves grazing and parries... though in reality, every time I see parry on my tank gear, I want to kill myself...

Footnotes
- Layout is a slightly modified version taken from Bancroft Gairn
- Theme Song: Snake Eyes - Feint (ft. CoMa)
- Voice Inspiration: Marina Inoue
- Accent/Dialect: Semi-Casual. A mix of Ul'dahn and Ishgardian? Most of her tone and tendencies is taken from her books and little interactions with others. When present among Lominsan's however, she will revert her 'normal dialect' which shows her familiarity growing up in Limsa Lominsa.
- Having trouble approaching her?: While Lsael isn't the type to walk up to random strangers to strike conversation. She will openly respond when treated fairly with respect. If she's in the Quicksands or in a tavern, most likely she's drinking or about to be drunk. Her pet atomos is known to cause trouble when she isn't looking, either gobbling up something that isn't her's or biting the people who spoil it with food.
- Current Arc?: Her airship was just recently damaged from a flight over the hinterlands, spending a fair bit of time in Ul'dah travelling between the city and the Norther Thanalan ceruleum plant. She's spent the last few days hunting down magitek vanguards, which she scraps for parts and modifies. A required piece of the auto-pilot system her manacutter uses. She may even be putting up small, very discreet postings for merchants as a buyer looking into attaining certain airship parts.
