Character
General
Michael Callaway; a complex man. Born to two middle-class merchants in Ul'dah, he was pledged to the Sultansworn from an early age. He completed the first steps of his training before running away at 15 to Limsa Lominsa for a life of roguishness and crime on the high seas. Soon after, a brush with the Maelstrom drove him back onto the right side of the law.
He fled north to Ishgard, where he became a freelancer for House Fortemps at Camp Dragonhead. A Baron and a Viscount, cousins, noticed him and hired him into their service as a fixer. The two men became needed guides and friends to Michael for the next seven years.

Combat
Michael's combat skills are combined from several classes and there's only two that he's actually skilled enough at to be considered above average. His talents lie in Red Magic and Archery.
General
Michael's early years were spent in training to become a Paladin. He gained the Soulstone before he fled the city. He keeps the martial skills and some of the conjury at least somewhat refreshed, just in case he has need of heavy armor and shield. He was never able to master conjury.

- Weapon Specialties: Rapier, Bow
His journey took him to Limsa Lominsa, where he spent a few years as a petty thief, eking out a minimal existence as a wharf rat. He learned to throw daggers and sailed with a ship a few times, gaining a small understanding of life aboard, but most importantly, how to pick pockets and locks. He learned the rogue's life just enough to utilize these skills later in his life.

- Pick Pocket
When he was threatened with arrest after trying to pick the wrong man's pocket, Michael cleaned up his act and got on the right side of the law. Unfortunately, he couldn't do so in Limsa Lominsa. He left for Camp Dragonhead and found himself under the tutelage of two Ishgardian nobles - a Baron and a Viscount, a Red Mage and an Archer in turn. His skills developed under both as he showed a talent for both fields and an actual interest in the Red, which was still considered heretical and kept secret at the time. The Archery was a natural evolution of his skills and a useful talent for someone they were grooming to be a personal bodyguard and fixer. Michael's failure to further develop his conjury led to his Red Magic being stalled. His swordsmanship, however, was very good - a tie-in to his earlier skills as a Paladin.
