What better mother is there than nature herself?" -Malik Appearance Standing at a bit taller than average miqo'te height, Malik has a well toned athletic body that is often considered more muscular than typical miqo'te. His skin is a darker tan, and his body has a couple of minor scars that are easily missed. He has numerous tribal-like tattoos on him. Most noticeable is his face and the markings around his eyes and on his cheeks. He also has a tattoo of a leaf like symbol on his upper back. Malik wears primarily cloth and leather gear that is crafted by either himself or those he personally knows. His hair is a soft white hue with black streaks. He has forest green eyes. Though he is considered by himself and peers to be a 'beastmaster' of sorts, he surprisingly maintains both his appearance and his hygiene quite diligently. Personality Malik has an intense love for nature and the things it encompasses, a trait that defines much of what he does. He can sometimes be extremely impulsive, resulting in need for assistance from his allies. He shows tremendous pride in his views, and sometimes thinks highly of himself as a result. He received no formal education growing up and is completely illiterate, though he tries to hide that weakness. Malik's love for animals shows in the way he communicates with various beasts, including a plethora of his own pets. To see anyone mistreat animals without provocation causes Malik tremendous rage. His loyalty to animals (and his fellow comrades) is unwavering. Background Malik was raised in an orphanage in Gridania, with zero knowledge of his birth family. He was found abandoned in the forest by a passing adventurer as a baby, wrapped in a blanket with nothing but a locket with the word "Ishvari" etched into it. As he grew up, he became increasingly bitter toward his abandonment and even sabotaged more than one adoption attempt for himself so that he could remain alone. At the age of thirteen, he ran away from the orphanage and had a near death experience where he swears to have been saved by Nophica herself. Among the others 'saved' in that dangerous situation were the now members of EDEN (Eco Defenders and Enthusiasts of Nature). This small but radical group gives its allegiance wholly and solely to Hydaelyn and its health, recognizing Nophica as the Mother Creator. They go to great lengths to sabotage those who would harm nature in any form. Among these enemies predominately include the Garleans, but also extends to many ordinary Eorzeans. EDEN is recognized by both Ul'dah and Gridania as a terrorist organization, though its members maintain their secrecy by using masks during their missions. Gridania, much to Ul'dah's annoyance, spends little time or resources attempting to bring EDEN to justice. Malik was ultimately voted in as EDEN's de facto leader. His skills include, most notably, the ability to tame and commune with beasts, along with the ability to mimick some of their beastly attacks for his own style. He's also skilled with single-handed blades and botany. He has a natural skill with some natural magic, though it lacks refinement due to his illiteracy. Malik currently resides in the EDEN headquarters within the Lavender Beds. She is the most wealthy of EDEN, given her employment as fashion advisor for famous Eorzean bards. While she owns the EDEN headquarters, she is seldom there and has largely left Malik to live there as he sees fit. She supplies the group with nearly a third of its financial backing. Echo Zurova ( ♥ ) : Age : 26 - A beautiful elezen wildwood with shaman-like abilities. Echo claims to hear the elementals, and is capable of powerful magic that she channels from nature itself. Despite the similarities to conjury, she denies being a conjurer herself and prefers the term 'druid.' Melvina Nolan ( ♥ ) : Age : 22 - An intelligent midlander who, while growing up, was seen as the 'nerd' of her classmates. Her intelligence is top of the line in science, mechanics, and alchemy. It's no wonder she ended up becoming the greatest mind of EDEN. Her social skills, however, tend to be quite erratic and her clumsiness has become practically a trademark for her. Striking Coeurl ( ♥ ) : Age : 32 - An intimidating presence, this roegadyn is easily the strongest of the group. His skill in two-handed weapons is top notch and he has a menacing stare that can frighten even the toughest pirates. He serves as EDEN's expert in armoury and weaponsmithing, though his passion is also in the culinary arts. He is typically called simply 'Striker' by his comrades. Lloyd Chassebel ( ♥ ) : Age : 27 - Duskwight and wood wailer, Lloyd is the primary informant for EDEN. He's also the voice of reason more often than not, remaining calm and collective in just about any crisis. His hobby is fishing. It roughly translates to "king" in arabic. Ishvari is a Hindu concept that roughly encompasses the "divine." Ishvari is the feminine divine, whereas Ishvara is the masculine.
