Basic Info

An archaeologist, and insutructor at Vylbrand Academy. Garrett has a passion for uncovering mysteries, and piecing together history. There is definitely some Indiana Jones in there. He has dark brown hair, a scar on his left cheek, and is almost always wearing glasses, be they his normal ones, or a pair of tinted specs.

Personality

A scholar at heart, Garrett is fairly well spoken, and has a somewhat calm personality. He canoften be downright gentlemenly. He is usually the "looks before he leaps" type. This can cause him to hesitate in the heat of the moment, but on the other hand, it leaves him in a better position to get out of bad situations than most.

Eorzean Museum of Cultural History

Formerly the curator for a time, he has long done research for the institution. He gave the position up prior to the calamity, opting to focus more on field work than on overseeing the museums caretaking. To put it plainly, he wanted to be out playing in the dirt, and not behind a desk ding paperwork. He still has ties to the institution, and retains professional relationships with several of its members.

Early life and youth

Little is known about Garretts childhood or teen years.

Late teens and adult life

At age 17, Garrett studied at the Eorzea Historical Research Institute (EHRI). Unsatisfied with the schools lack of focus on cultural relations, he transferred to the Strahmvier Antiquarianism Academy in Thanalan at age 19. There, he met a Roegadyn man named Endless Chasm who became his closest friend and colleague. He also met a Highlander woman named Faleena Roseblood, who he grew close to, and married that same year. Over the coming years, Garrett quickly graduated in the to quarter of his class, participated in multiple expeditions with Endless Chasm, and had a daughter with his Faleena, named Charlotte.

Then the calamity happened. This event unearthed a multitude of previously un-discovered sites of interest throughout Eorzea, and sparked fierce, and cutthroat competition in the newly emerging field dubbed "Archaeology". Garrett was forced out of the field by a rival archaeologist- a highlander named Beckman, whom he had butted heads with on multiple occasions. Beckman murdered Faleena and Charlotte in order to punish Garrett for not giving in to his demands to stay out of his way. Garrett gave up on the discipline, lost contact with Endless Chasm, and began making his way as a bounty hunter, tracking down and bringing in, or eliminating man and beast for gil, and to make things just a little bit safer out there.

Recent Life

Recently, Garrett has returned to the archaeological field, and taken a job at Vylbrand Academy as Professor of Archaeology.
