Appearance

"Girly" might be the first word to come to mind when looking at this young man. His figure is short and petite with tanned skin, and clad in loose fitting robes. His round face is framed by a bush of unruly, dark brownish red hair, reaching down to nape of his neck from the back. A pair of large red eyes look around with mild curiosity, or rather badly faked indifference.

Not far from its owner is Otte's Carbuncle, named Neeto. Whether considered a mere familiar or a pet, one cannot tell just by looking. At least publicly Otte doesn't seem to give this creature too much attention.

Behavior

Despite his childish looks, Otte usually acts calm and mature, specially when performing duties for his guild. Outside his duties he seems less professional, acting slightly more playful and even teasing if the person is someone closer to him.

His lack of experience when it comes to life and people in general might give him an image of someone insensitive, as he seems to look at emotions and interaction from the point of view of an aloof researcher, rather than feeling the need to experience anything first hand himself, at times deeming some things "useless" and "odd" when normal people would consider them important. Because of this he often has problems handling his own emotions and new experiences, and usually reacts to them excessively and in a confused manner, like a child instead of an adult he considers himself to be.

Combat

Being more experienced with magical arts rather than close-combat, Otte prefers to keep his distance from the center of the battle. Instead he trusts his Carbuncle, affectionately named Neeto, to keep his enemies at bay so he can focus of weakening them with his magic. Lately he has also decided to continue his training in Archery, though spending years without much physical training has made this harder than he thought it would be.

Otte's family lives in a tribe that travels around Thanalan. Despite living on his own in Limsa his family is often mentioned, especially his younger brother that always seems to be the main source of Otte's frustration.

Friends

Despite Otte preferring books and writing over socializing, his curiosity has garnered him a group of acquaintances. He has also slowly gathered a group of people he considers friends, trying his best to open up to them more.

Korin Relanah - A young man Otte first "appointed" as his assistant, though the two soon became friends. Now Korin seems to be the first to talk to when Otte is having worries, and usually helps the awkward Seeker to find a solution to his problems.

W'rexen Tia - A man Otte has helped by sharing his research notes, and who he considers amusing and "worth observing closely".

Octavel Loreaux - An Elezen that has made Otte to open himself more to people, though at times his way of pushing the truth out of Otte has caused some frustration. Due to certain things Otte has taken some distance from the elezen though, their relationship being a little awkward from the miqo'te's side.

S'meoh Keeneye - A young Miqo'te Otte met through Octavel and Korin, and who slowly became one of Otte's friends, despite his childish personality.

Mal Sionis - Despite being the person Otte has known for the shortest time, this Miqo'te quickly found his way into the Arcanist's heart by being very open and obvious about his feelings, and so the two started dating.
