Basic Info

Born an orphan in Limsa with no memory of of his family, Manasas Reed fell into the wrong crowds of people when he was very young. Shortly around his 10th birthday, he joined, along with a childhood friend onto a merchant ship as cabin boys. Within several weeks of the voyage, the ship was attacked and sank by Pirates. Manasas was the sole surviver, he was adrift and near dead when a hulking black ship whom he recognized as the pirates who sank his last ship, scooped him out of the water. Seeing as how a wimpy lad would not cause them trouble, he became the ships pet and was well liked by many. He learned how to sail, and how to fight from the deckhands. He was taught naval warfare and tactics from it's captain. Upon his 10th year aboard the ship, the Captain passed away and he stepped in as Captain of the pirate ship, the Siren's Call, a small ship that is manned by as few as possible. A small, lightweight, incredibly fast ship, it packs quite a heavy punch and excels in guerrilla Hit-n-Run tactics when engaging in naval warfare. Shortly after commandeering the title of Captain, he attacked a merchant ship and took captive one of the sailors wife, a young, beautiful but very sickly blonde Hyur Midlander named Arielle. He was immediately smitten with her and claimed her for himself, seeing him as her protector and savior, and he kept her aboard long enough for her to fall for him. They was married around his 23rd birthday. However, ocean life did not sit well with her, and her health issues quickly became apparent. One a dark stormy night, not much longer after their marriage, the young Pirate Captain was escorting his frail wife to the bunks below where she would be safe from the winds and rain. When suddenly a massive wave crashed over the ship nearly swamping it. The mighty wave swept the frail girl from his grip and he watched in horror as she was swept into the angry sea and disappeared into the dark storm ocean. To this day he has yet to love another as much as he loved her, and her cries for help wretch him awake most every night. He remembers the good in her, and how she would always try to turn him into a better man. Knowing only a life as a pirate, he vowed to keep sailing, but to honor her memory, he came up with his own personal code to keep him in check.

Looks & Mannerisms

Manasas Reed, aka Rowdy Reed, is first and foremost a pirate. And as such, he much looks like one. Due to his life on the ship, his hands are rough and calloused. He is tall and muscular with broad shoulders and deeply tanned. A tattoo on his right arm stands out from his tanned skin.

He has a square, solid jaw, a face covered in bruises, dirt and scars. All testament to numerous fights, both won & lost. He has sandy colored hair, and tattoos on either side of his face.

He can be very blunt and forward, a trait confused with being rude. However, in his mind he sees no need for beating around the bush and will make his intentions and thoughts known with no second guessing. If a woman attracts his eye, she will be told so, if someone annoys him, they will be told so.

He is most confusing however. Although being a pirate he follows a very strict moral code. He can set a ship on fire and laugh as it sinks below into it's water grave on one day, then help a young boy rescue his kitten from a well on the next. He will not steal from someone's person, he will not rape a woman, nor pillage a defenseless seaside town. If he happens to be in a brawl, his adversaries needs not fear a dagger in the back. An act deemed cowardly by him.

Combat/Abilities

Incredibly fast and accurate with a bow, it is rumored he can clear a ship before the boarding hooks are even thrown. His sword arm is strong and well tested. Both excelling in daggers and swords alike.

Due to his agility gained from scaling mast and sail, he is incredibly quick on his feet. What he lacks in pure strength against a tougher opponent he makes up for in lightning quick speed
