There is one situation where Koren is present and not miles and miles away, hidden behind a wall of absent charm: When Koren truly starts to study or work with magic there's a light in her eyes that seems to rouse her from her dream like none other. Those brief glimpses and moments are when Koren truly is awake from the safety of her dream. | There is one situation where Koren is present and not miles and miles away, hidden behind a wall of absent charm: When Koren truly starts to study or work with magic there's a light in her eyes that seems to rouse her from her dream like none other. The only child of two prominent scholars of Aetheric studies and Primals, Koren grew up in the study of magic. Her parents took her across the world in their research. She embarked on her first Aetheryte travel while little more than a baby; travelled to Mon Dhona and helped take readings on crystal samples by the time she could walk, and lived along Sylphs as her parents recorded their culture when many of her peers were learning their letters. By the time she was ten she'd spent more of her life recording ceruleum readings than playing games or dolls and knew more about the Moogle tongue than the other tribe of her own people. It was this very familiarity that led to her own experimentation that resulted in the summoning of her Carbunkle based on conjecture of her parent's research. Her magical training grew considerably from that day forward. Mornings were research either in the field or through experimentation and afternoons were spent in deep investigation. Whether Koren would be a prodigy of her field if her rearing hadn't been so idiosyncratic is immaterial; her experience and history in the field leave her as a noteworthy scholar at her young age. | The only child of two prominent scholars of Aetheric studies and Primals, Koren grew up in the study of magic. Appearance
Height: 5'0"
Build: Slight; mostly
Hair Color: Black, though she highlights blue
Hair Stylings: Cut blunt to her cheek and with blunt bangs
Eye Color: Blue
Skin Color: Grey-Blue
Distinguishing Markings: None
A bit uneven in her shaping; Koren has a rather full bust for a Miqo'te. Making matters a little more awkward is that she lacks the necessary balance from her hips making her a little self conscious about being top-heavy as a result. She stands a bit shorter than the average Miqo'te female with large, bright blue wide-set eyes and a rounder face which make her look rather young as a result. Her mount is small and her nose cute with a slight upturn. Koren's black hair is neatly cut blunt at her jaw and at her fringe, with her fluffy tail equally meticulously groomed.
There is a strong air to the feminine in her fashion; Koren prefers pale colors and pastels with a tendency to favor short dresses and skirts over clothing that could be seen as more practical.
Personality
Koren cultivates the air of the mysterious in her demeanor.
Koren doesn't walk, she strolls.
Koren doesn't run, she skips.
She savors her drinks and closes her eyes to consider each and every flavor. She smiles like someone told her a delightful, mischievous secret just a few seconds ago. She talks with a lyrical, playful voice that seems to be amused at the game that's being played whether the subject is math or magic, romance or war. On the surface, Koren's a rather easy person to get along with due to her cheerful sweetness. She's playful, polite, and despite her perhaps overly healthy self-confidence and enjoyment of teasing others, a professional young woman who treats her elders and superiors with respect.
Yet, despite that seeming closeness... Koren doesn't talk about herself except in terms of research and study. She never brings up her family unless someone does so first and often changes the subject back to interest in the other person and uses her friendly, happy persona to create a careful wall to keep anyone from getting too close. When it's pressed, Koren simply smiles, winks, and resorts to one of her most favorite phrases: "Ah... I guess, that's a secret, isn't it? <3" Koren's behavior often suggests a breezy lack of deep connection -- like someone playing a particularly interesting game or watching a delightful movie rather than someone living their life. Still, life offers plenty of twist and turns... why worry? That sort of thing really can't be helped, can it?
There is one situation where Koren is present and not miles and miles away, hidden behind a wall of absent charm: When Koren truly starts to study or work with magic there's a light in her eyes that seems to rouse her from her dream like none other. Those brief glimpses and moments are when Koren truly is awake from the safety of her dream.
Quirks
Koren recognizes authority quite quickly; even if they aren't technically her superior she's apt to straighten up and switch her language. Not from their ability to command her but because she has a deep and well trained sense of respect for those who have a reason to be worthy of it. This is probably one of the chief reasons she continues to get work as a researcher despite the other parts of her personality. Further, To say that Koren is feminine is almost an understatement. As she puts it, she tries to live her life in two dimensions to be the perfect girl instead of having the rawness that other women have. As life should be sweet - Koren has a fondness for cakes, cookies, and other similar pastries. It is worth noting it isn't necessarily the sweetness of the food, but, it's aesthetic qualities. A cute cake that was delicious is far better than an ugly one that tastes good in her mind.

Interests, Hobbies and Training
Koren deeply enjoys things one would consider finer in life and likes to maintain an air of culture about herself. High art, music, poetry -- all those things said to elevate the soul are of interest to her as if she were desperate to seek out something that might ignite a fire in her heart. Her attitude (and coin purse) would well attest to the fact that she would rather live like a queen for one day than survive well for a month. Being, perhaps surprisingly, dedicated to her research and inquiry leaves Koren with little time for truly participatory hobbies and instead she is very much the dilettante; passable at many hobbies while mastering none.
