Basic Info
- Izuko Gaen (Born H'oujuu Ban Naevia) is the daughter of a refugee Sun Seeker of the H' tribe and a member of the original occupation Gyr Abania occupation force stationed within Ala Mhigo itself.

Appearance & Personality
- Izuko Gaen is slightly larger than most other Mi'qotes shes encountered in most ways, height, weight, and build. She is unusually pale considering her heritage. She has a prominent nose, with a distinct horizontal scar over the bridge, another scar of similar size can be found running down her jawline, although normally partially obscured by her hair when not tied up. She has mismatched two-tone green eyes. Her hair is a fairly unremarkable light brown colour.
- Outwardly she almost always appears friendly and outgoing, within is a constant turmoil of lies she is forced to keep track of, always looking for a way out of her current situation, regardless of the likelihood of needing an escape. An attentive observer could see the shine in her eyes while shes sizing people up, looking for ways to exploit and/or manipulate them to her own goals. Izuko has a tendency to get overly nervous when situations don't go her way, and is horrible at hiding this fact. A skilled interrogator could catch her out of her element and wring every scrap of information she has, given the right circumstances
Biography
Childhood
- Born in 1547, of the Sixth Astral Era under the name H'oujuu Naevia to a Refugee Mi'qote, H'lakshkai Shen and an full blooded Garlean, Kaeso Pyr Naevia (Kaeso Ban Naevia at the time) within the borders of Ala Mhigo itself. She was quite often bothered for her Mi'qote heritage and features during her very early years.
- She was 5 years old when Theoderic, the King of Ruin, began his campaign to wipe out the Fist of Rhalgr, largely unaffected, her life continued as normal.
- At 10 years old, she witnessed the inevitable approach of a civil war within the walls of Ala Mhigo, and unlike most, came to appreciate the Garleans for stepping in when they did. In her eyes, they brought back the day to day life she had actually come to miss since tensions began rising the year before. In 1558, she was reunited with her father, now a Tesserarius within the XIVth Legion, 2nd Cohor, however much he avoided affiliation with her and her mother. She lived a relatively peaceful childhood after that, happily being viewed as superior to her fellow annexed citizens, bearing the title of Ban, the one thing her father had given her to date, was his own blood.
Teenage
- In 1561, her mother, H'lakshkai, attempted to pull her into the underground Ala Mhigan Resistance, and a 14 year old H'oujuu witnessed the work being done by her own mother to tear away at the people who had brought security to her over the last few years. She outright refused to have anything to do with the movement, much to the disdain of her mother.
- 6 months later, upon her fathers return to the state, she reported the cell she had witnessed, names, places and all, resulting in the capture and executions of at least a dozen Ala Mhigans, her mother among those killed, and her childhood home razed. Naturally upon her fathers report, she was taken into custody herself facing almost 3 weeks of near constant punishment and abuse within an Imperial prison establishment. Despite her treatment, she remained disturbingly loyal to the Garlean cause coming to accept what was happening to her as a result of neglecting to report the Resistance sooner.
- Another 6 months into the future, in 1562, she received the news of her fathers death aboard the Agrias during the Battle of Silvertear Skies. Furious, she demanded the right to join the Empire. Refused to first, she continued with her demands, word began to spread within the garrison in Ala Mhigo about the half-blooded Garlean, eventually catching the attention of Vibius Sas Caesennius. After several bouts of violence and questioning at his hands, Vibius accepted H'oujuu's resolve, taking her under his wing in a sense, and getting her admitted into a Military Academy in the Garlean homelands.
- She remained in Garlemald for several years, being trained as a Garlean Sagittarius, displaying remarkable attention to detail, she caught the attention of her instructors, who believed she'd be of better use outside of a conventional force, especially considering her appearance.
- It was in 1566 that the 19 year old finally made her return to Gyr Abania, where she received more advanced training, this time by Vibius Sas Caesennius, who she began to view as a mentor and father figure. It was through him that she learned the finer points of observing an enemy from within, as well as honing her marksmanship skills. Approaching the end of the year, she managed to insert herself once again into the Resistance movement, under the guidance of her now handler and commanding officer, Vibius, where she remained up until the Calamity itself.
Present
- Immediately following the Calamity, her and Vibius were attached to the XIVth Legion, under the command of Gaius Van Baelsar, where they received orders to have an agent placed within the Immortal Flames for a long term establishment of information being funneled straight back to the Legion.
- Once entering Eorzea via the Black Shroud, H'oujuu assumed the name Izuko Gaen, taking on the appearance of a late refugee from Gyr Abania, seeking safety from the occupation of her homeland. Once in Ul'dah, she didn't hesitate to track down Flame Marshal Eline Roaille, who aided in her entry into Flame ranks, putting her at the basic non-commissioned rank of 2nd Flame Lieutenant, in charge of the paperwork involved with the supply and demands of various Grand Company outposts and strongholds.
- Over the last few weeks she's gotten involved with a band of Sky Pirates know as the Rising Claws, acting in her own interests for the first time in almost 15 years.
