Nature & Demeanor

Nature & Demeanor

Demeanor: Prefers to stay off to the side and keep to himself. He's most comfortable with less people around, but even then, his poor attitude usually still lingers.

Nature: Silent and cold on the outside, but warm on the inside.

Habits: Sometimes has a bad habit of holding the letter "s" when used. He also may accidently hiss when suddenly angered, which ends up making himself feel embarrassed, only furthering his frustration.

Notable Features

Notable Features

Appearance: Although described as ethereal in terms of appearance, he certainly doesn't have the attitude or demeanor to match.

Scars & Markings: He has noticeable black tattoos on the right side of his body- markings that were given to him when he become of age in his tribe.

Voice: He speaks calm and collectively, but not so refined like how a noble would speak. Any hope of appearing "proper" is usually foiled when he gets angered and growls.

Clothing: He will always wear something that allows his skin to be free - too much clothing starts to make him panic!

The Soaring Eagle

Azrae'li was known as the lead tactician for the mercenary company based in Gridania called the Soaring Eagle. Ever since he began planning out missions, the company never failed a job, and employers came in droves to hire them. Although he was instrumental in their success, he never got along very well with his fellows. He was difficult to talk to, and his battle plans always required at least one person to act as bait. He was simply ignored, since no one really wanted to cause any trouble with him. After all, he was lining up their pockets with quite a lot of gil.

Arcanist's Guild

When he was unable to walk very far after the Soaring Eagle was annihilated, he began to study at the Arcanist's Guild in Limsa Lominsa, where he was eagerly accepted due to his abnormally high rates of aether. However, he had difficulties controlling his carbuncle, which never listened to him from the start. It was truly a reflection of his own nature- wild, and untamed. He was banned from summoning his carbuncle again after an accident in which it began to attack fellow members. Instead, he focused his studies on simple spells from tomes, which he proved to excel at.

Rogue's Guild

After healing, he was contacted by a mysterious stranger that offered him a place in the Rogue's Guild's ranks, after hearing about his successful missions as a tactician in the Soaring Eagle. It was in here that he began to train in the art of dual wielding daggers- an art that he mastered swiftly, and has now become his primary combat preference.

Abilities

Strengths

Strengths

Resolve This is likely the only strength that can be said for the miqo'te, apart from his combat abilities and good looks. When a job is given, he always sets out to get it done, no matter the risk.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses

Socialization

He is a difficult man to speak to. He treats all newcomers with either a glare, growl, or some combination of the two. Due to his experiences growing up, he finds it difficult to trust in others, and always tends to expect a surprise attack: a natural instinct that he has yet to overcome. However, if one is persistent enough and can break through the hollow exterior of his heart, they'll find a forever loyal friend.

Females

He is mostly unfamiliar with them, and cannot understand them at all. Of course, he finds them pleasant to look at, but has no idea what to do to court one. Any flirting or teasing will easily get him embarrassed and flustered, but it's not like he doesn't enjoy the attention and company. He simply hasn't met or talked to many of them to get comfortable enough. He'll never raise a hand or weapon to them, and has the instinct to protect them, but even then, he is still very much as clueless about them as they come.

Combat

Combat

Tactics

From when he was exiled from his tribe, he quickly adapted in the wilderness of Coerthas at the age of eleven, directing young ones that were exiled with him. Witnessing his prodigal ability once they reached the borders of Gridania, it was a Wood Wailer that introduced Azrae'li to the Soaring Eagle, to learn the ways of the tactician. He has had nothing but victories under his belt ever since.

Tome Mastery

With the right tome, he can cast a variety of offensive spells, although this is an art that he tends to keep secret, and will almost never use unless his life or another is dependent on it.

Dagger Mastery

As if born to learn the art, Azrae'li quickly found himself to become proficient with dual wielding daggers. He is truly a sight to see when he is found in combat, as a lot of his abilities revolve around swift movement, almost like dances.

Keeper of the Moon
====

Born to a traditional Keeper of the Moon tribe, Azrae'li was unlike other boys his age. From the very beginning, he was nearly feral, getting into fights with others his age, and causing nothing but trouble. Despite his mother's determination to tame the young boy, the Matriarch had grown fearful of his potential. Sensing that he was born with an immense amount of aether, bundled with his wild ways, she sought to have him remove before he became a burden to her order.

And so, Azrae'li, at the age of eleven, and two twin boys at the ages of eight, were exiled, and left with nothing but rags, deep in the heart of Coerthas, where the sheer cold reigned, along with the vicious wildlife. For the first time, he experienced fear, but seeing as he was the eldest of the three, and seeing the fear in their eyes.. It had begun to change him, and it hardened his personality. With a courageous heart in hand, he began to plan out their survival. Directing the two efficiently, they managed to live for days, and then weeks, until their wandering brought them to the northern border of Gridania. There, they were received by a pair of Wood Wailers that took them in to New Gridania.

One of the Wailers had plans in store for Azrae'li, however. Seeing how he managed to ensure not only his own survival, but the survival of the two young boys, he had begun to feel that Azrae'li was destined for greatness, and had the aptitude for leadership. He was brought to a mercenary company, called the Soaring Eagle, which was only starting out there in Gridania. Though hesitant, they agreed to take in the boy, while the twins parted ways. Azrae'li proved to be quite a handful, but his potential could not be denied, and so he was forged into a worthy tactician, and the day would soon arrive when he would plan out and lead missions himself.

The Soaring Eagle

Azrae'li's first campaign proved to be a highly successful one, which made the company believe that they made the right decision bringing him in. It was still difficult for the Keeper to befriend them, as his cold and untrustworthy personality persisted, but he always got the job done. It wasn't long until their string of victories had given the Soaring Eagle a good name.

Soon, employers came in flocks, and there were more missions than the small company can handle. Still, they took as many missions as they could, and it would be a victory secured everytime. This began to become problematic for competing mercenary companies, as all of the job givers wanted to only deal with the Soaring Eagle. Soon, resentment became evident. Starved mercenary companies frowned upon the Soaring Eagle, blaming them for the lack of jobs, putting the competing companies into almost nothingness.

One day, an employer appeared, and offered a very handsome sum for a mission down in Limsa Lominsa. Although hesitant due to the long travel, they could not resist the gil that was offered, and so they went. However, it proved to be a trap. A handful of mercenary companies had united under a single banner, to ambush the Soaring Eagle, and Azrae'li could not respond to the overwhelming numbers that surrounded them. The battle was bloody and resulted in the death of the entire company- except for our Keeper here, that was knocked out and thrown off a cliff during the battle.

Resolve and Retribution

He awoke in an infirmary in the heart of Limsa Lominsa. He had been found and carried there by a fisherman, and was near to the brink of death. He had difficulties walking, so he had no way back to Gridania. Not wanting to remain idle, he began to occupy his time by studying at the Arcanists' Guild.

While studying, he tried to recall memories of the Soaring Eagle's final battle. All he remembered was being ambushed mostly by Roegadyns, and thus, developed a deep hatred for them. He was unsuccessful in controlling a carbuncle, but excelled in learning simple spells from the many tomes within the guild.

After healing, he was contacted by yet another mysterious stranger- this time, offering him a position in the ranks of the Rogues' Guild, a secret organization. He learned the art of using daggers, and proved to be highly proficient with them. Revenge was buried in his mind, but he chose to let it go; after all, his friends were already dead, but now, he would have the combat capabilities, through blade and spells, to not allow such a thing to happen again.

Full Circle

He left Limsa Lominsa, now that the Soaring Eagle was destroyed. He leaves now with strong combat abilities, and a heavy heart, as he set out to make a mark on Eorzea.. somehow.

It was inevitable. His past had eventually returned to haunt him.

Out in Summerford, he found himself surrounded by two familiar faces- the twins, that survived Coerthas thanks to him, older, and armed with weapons. After they reached Gridania, they had returned to the tribe they were exiled from, and were allowed back under one condition- to slay Azrae'li.

The Matriarch truly feared him, to go to such lengths. Nevertheless, he had no choice. It was clean and swift, and for the first time, tears streamed from his eyes, cursing his luck, and the outcome. The Keeper already had difficulties trusting others, but this would seal that decision forever.

Present day: Azrae'li had set out for a new home; a place to belong, a place to having meaning.

* No particular preference in mind. I'm not too picky about getting RP. Any scenario works, as long as Raeli has a reason to be there.
