Edco Bane is a Mi'qote who lived in small village on the outskirts of Gridania. Practically born with the spirit of an adventurer, he longed to escape village life and explore the outside world. Once building up the courage to run away, he took a carriage to Gridania to start his new life.

Appearance & Personality

An average height male, with unruly, black hair with blonde highlights. He always wears something new, so it's really rare to see him with the same clothes for a long time. His most noticeable feature is a scar that goes down his right eye, which he gave to himself after leaving the village. He is quite and usually struggles to make friends and relationships, mostly because back in the village, he tried to separate himself from everyone else, to make leaving less painful.

Biography

1542-1561

Childhood

Edco was born an only child in a tribe of Miqo'te called the Sunchasers. Practically everybody in the tribe knew him, mostly due to his parents being the nicest people in the area. If any help was needed, you can bet the Bane's were there. Edco, on the other hand, wasn't so much. If there was any trouble, chances are, he at the very least instigated it about 70% of the time. Despite this though, the town relied on his parents to help whenever needed, so a lot of his punishments were trivial, with severe ones just having a consequence of a few days of community service. While he enjoys being a part of the tribe, at the same time, he secretly wants out. He wants to explore the world, not stay in an area for his whole life. Leaving was strictly forbidden though. In the words of the leader "You're born in the tribe, you DIE in the tribe".

Around the age of 8, a nearby gypsy tribe settled down near his. The tribe had many different races, so it was no surprise when he found a family of Miqo'te, like him. However, these Miqo'te were from the Keeper of the Moon clan, which his parents weren't really fond of. This didn't bother him though, as he had no plans on building a relationship with anyone. From this family, he met Aurelia Moongaze. She stood out the most, with her white hair and her bi-colored eyes.

Teenage

Edco was attending school with the gypsy tribe, since the leaders of both decided to unite the tribe to make life easier for both. It was in school that he began his profession of archery, and he was one of the top students that can wield a bow. However, Aurelia is also one of the best. He couldn't bear the thought of being bested by a girl, nonetheless a Moonseeker. This lead to one of the biggest rivalries in the village. Edco was always fighting with her, both in archery and outside of school. It was around this time he began to notice the little details that made her so great, not as an archer, but as a person. Edco, after years of avoiding one, has finally developed a crush.

After admitting his feelings to Aurelia, they secretly became a couple, since neither of their parents were fond of each other. Most of the students at school knew something was going on, since a lot of the fighting and screaming, which still occasionally happened, has been reduced to smiles and laughs.

1561 - Present

Once school was over, there was a festival being held in honor of the gods that the village worshipped. Edco thought this was a perfect time to leave the tribe, inviting Aurelia to run away with him. She refused, leaving him with a broken heart. As he ran deeper into the woods, all he can think about was Aurelia. The first few nights haunted him with nightmares of her getting hurt or killed. Many times, he wanted to run back, just to see her one more time, at the very least. He kept on going though, with the thought of this possibly being his only chance to explore the world. Due to this guilt, he gave himself a scar over his right eye, so he may never forget what he has done to the only person that really cared for him.

Afterwards, he found a carriage to a city-state named: Gridania. During the ride, all he can think about was the future, meanwhile trying to forget about Aurelia, since he may never see her again. He decided to go to the Archer's guild in Gridania and continue his training there, then set off and see what the world has to offer. What he doesn't know, is that a great evil is approaching, and that he, along with others like him, are the key to stopping it.

Xiomar is one of the only people he still keeps in touch with, and is currently part of his Free Company. ● Lizabeth Starsgard : Xiomar's wife and Edco's adventuring companion and friend. Edco taught her how to use some of her arcanist abilities. ● Edco Musa : Sharing the same name as him, Musa was Aurelia's previous adventurer partner. After running into him in Costa del Sol, and talking to him a bit, Musa revealed information on Aurelia's whereabouts, as well as some personal things.
