Basic Info

A rough-and-tumble Elezen from the wrong end of the Brume....at least at her core. On the surface, she's relatively refined and cultured, with a proper manner of speaking and a decorum in keeping with Ishgardian high society; after all, she is a noblewoman's servant! Shendeline serves as the butler of Lady Guinevere Misericorde, utilizing a combination of her low-born wits and instinct and her high-born education to keep her mistress's estate in tip-top shape. That's all she does...officially.

Likes ■ Gambling: Dice, cards, chocobo racing, even pit-fighting; Shendeline is quick to wager gil (or other things!) on a bet or contest. ■ Fighting: Who doesn't love a good scrap!? Shendeline is a bit of an adrenaline junkie, and fighting is the purest form of adrenaline around. ■ Chocobos: Though she hasn't had much real experience with them until becoming a butler, she absolutely adores the massive and majestic birds. ■ The violin: One of the many things she was taught upon becoming a butler was how to play the violin to entertain guests and the like, and she's rather fond of the instrument.

Dislikes ■ Nobility: Present employer excluded, Shendeline's not too fond of the Ishgardian nobility, having grown up in the Brume and thus below the regard of the high-born. ■ Alcohol: She'll serve it to guests if they ask, but she won't touch the stuff, not in a million years. To her, it's an evil substance. ■ Dravanians: After nearly three decades of seeing people's lives ruined by the Dravanian Horde, Shendeline is thoroughly convinced still that the only good Dravanian is a dead one.

Appearance

With a relatively plain face and skin bronzed by the sun, Shendeline's visage and skin is in stark contrast to some of her more vain Elezen sisters; the presence of a light scar across her forehead doesn't help matters either. Almost thirty years of hectic street life followed by hectic butler'ing life has left her with a rather muscled form, the majority of which is concealed beneath her butler's attire; this attire consists of a pair of black dress pants and gray dress shoes, a black tuxedo jacket and a red sash tied around her waist which is embroidered with a thread that glints silver when exposed to light. Near the end of the sash is stitched a heraldic crest, the coat of arms of the house she serves.

Personality

Ordinarily, Shendeline has a very stately air about her, with a calm and pleasant demeanor that is absolutely necessary to have in order to deal with the hustle and bustle of being a noblewoman's butler. However, in the din of combat or after pushing her buttons enough, the facade tends to melt away and, as a result, she regresses to that low-born Elezen from the Brume that she grew up as. She's short-tempered and quick to try and right any alleged wrong against her or her companions, and she has a bad habit of running her mouth to try and get under a perceived adversary's skin.
