Willis Etmierre also known to go as Atlan Ejinn is an Au Ra of Xaelan descent who grew up in the lands of Eorzea. From young, he was trained in the art of the gun yet aspires to grow his skill into the ways of the great sword, swearing to protect his company and those he cares for.

Appearance

Fairly short for his age and race, Willis stands at a 7'1". His hair is black with a slight wave with ocean blue eyes with bright limbal rings to help him sea under the water. Black scales cover his body, and scars plagiarize and mark him-- a very visible gun-shot wound on his left leg and a large scar over his skin and scales on his back. On both of his arms, there are light-blue arcanum tattoos. When told about scar-removing cream, the man will refuse saying "These scars are history to me."

Personality

At first, Willis was rash and and quick to temper and act without thinking about consequences. After a long line of harsh training, heartfelt words and dedication, Willis strives to be a man of justice through his own means. His hard exterior now gone to show his true colors, a man sensitive man, though sometimes extremely shy and prone to anxiety and becoming insecure. When the moment to be strong is needed, he would not falter and shows his dedication of protecting others as his top priority.

Abilities

A natural sharpshooter, though now his skills in the art of the blade. Using a strange sort of science and technology, Willis' arms are able to lift two times the average weight a male Au'Ra can handle. Asides from those, he hones his abilities as a Dark Knight to the fullest. Using Darkside causes his strength to grow tenfold and being able to ignore pain. This way, he may fight until he collapses if he so wishes. Asides the power of dark-aspected aether, when bones are broken he can exert his darkness to temporarily mend his bones back together.

Relationships

Etmierre is Willis' adoptive father. A bandit whom took the infant away from his tribe during his transfer from the Borlaaq to another, Willis found himself instead on a boat to travel to Eorzea. Etmierre, of course was not the sanest of all of the men, even mistreating and abusing Willis until he were laying near half-dead from his strikes if training was executed correctly. The man rose the Xaela however and gave him a name. But due to his instability, Willis left the bandit group and with Etmierre's head at that.

Claire Harte, Willis' closest and long-time friend. Willis' cares greatly for Claire, even forming an affection for her, though knowing that the two will never be. He simply watches Claire from afar and wishes her happiness. Claire Harte was the first to train Willis in the art of the Greatsword, Willis surpassing Claire in strength and ability, honing him with the sword passed down to her by her father which he currently holds.

Siegmund Faust A close father figure to Willis. Once the man left to find himself, he ended up in the outskirts of Ishgard. A lone, merchant's stall was set up and a merchant named Siegmund was selling his goods, except for his blade. Willis requested the blade and after many refuses, Siegmund instead trained Willis until he could prove his worth. Once done, the ghost of the merchant passed on, leaving Willis with his legacy.

Trivia

• The name 'Altan', meaning 'Golden' is just a facade Willis wears when he feels insecure and believes he needs to use an alter ego to feel better.
