==History==
Nico was born in Garlemald to a high ranking officer in the military. With his father's death and mother's disappearance, Nico was taken into custody by the military scientists and experimented on in order to create an obedient super soldier. After countless cycles of the sun and moon Nico managed to escape the facility and flee Garlmald to Eorzea. With the assistance of Hydaelyn's Blessing, Nico's memories of his past were repressed as well as the effects of the Garlean experiments on him. Unfortunately, after Midgardsormr stripped him of that blessing his memories returned to him as did the effects of the experiments. Without Hydaelyn's Blessing Nico wandered Eorzea searching for a reason to live.

    Nico is the step-son of Antonius Von Caedicius, a respected officer in the Garlean army. Taken in at a young age when Antonius took his mother as a spoil of war; the boy was taught in mostly Garlean mannerisms and culture. Near his tenth nameday, Nico's family was re-stationed at a fortress on Doma. Antonius Von Caedicius was tasked with putting down an Auri rebellion and even though the freedom fighters were defeated, Antonius lost his life in the battle. Nico was placed under the guardianship of the state of Garlemald. Removed from his mother, Nico was pulled from his current path of becoming a soldier and instead moved to the laboratories. Years would pass as the Garleans performed their experiments upon him, prisoners of war and citizens, the latter being voluntary. Most died under the procedures or went insane. Chemicals pumped into the bloodstream to damage nerve endings and weaken them mentally. The Garleams wanted soldiers that felt no pain and who would respond without hesitation to orders. Eventually another Auri rebellion broke out, causing enough of a distraction for Nico to kill his tormentors and escape the facility. He found passage to Eorzea on a refugee boat.
==Personality==

Nico is a dark, brooding sort who rarely shows emotion. Due to previous events his emotions have become heightened to an uncontrollable extent. He uses drugs to suppress his emotions which he obtains through Garlean contacts for completing tasks most moral people would consider reprehensible. While he isn't a man without morals, he will do just about anything to obtain his "fix".

==Affiliations==

As a Ninja, Nico has connections in the Rogue's Guild of Limsa Lominsa. He previously served in the Twin Adders Grand Company of New Gridania. He has Garlean contacts in Eorzea, most of which are deserters of the Garlean Empire.
