General

Her face is round as standard for a lalafell, with small features aside from her big eyes. Her nose and the tips of her ears are a darker brown, and she has dark freckled cheeks. She usually wears makeup, most notable being pink glitter that contrasts with her freckles. Her ears are longer than average and sit low, sticking out horizontally. Her canines are unusually sharp, giving her an impish appearance when she smiles.

Her figure is soft and curvy, her shoulders slightly more narrow in comparison to her hips. Her hands and feet are on the small side, and her chest is larger than average for a lalafell (though that's not saying much). Her arms and hands are noticeably paler than the rest of her skin due to what look like burn scars, though she usually covers them. Her most distinctive feature, though, would have to be her hair: long, thick curls, almost capable of covering her entire body some days.

Clothing

For the most part, she enjoys stylish, but comfortable clothing; she likes loose-fitting outerwear and form-fitting underwear, with fabrics that are breathable and easy to move around in. The palettes she gravitates toward are on the cooler side, usually black with splashes of color (purple, pink, blue, etc). She is almost never found without some sort of garment covering her hands and forearms, to hide the burn scars that cover them.

Voice

Feminine but slightly deep for a lalafell. Her singing voice has an ethereal quality to it.

Though she has some trust issues, Perish is friendly to most people, likely a result of performing at many different venues. She has a charismatic personality and usually has no trouble ingratiating herself in different groups. Only those she is close with, or those who manage to make an enemy of her, see her truly serious side. Due to her friend's aether being merged with hers, she has become restless and moody as of late.

History

Perish was the child of a void mage out in the Sagolii Desert, whose particular cult was shut down by a Flames squadron. The leader of the assault, a man named Frozen Summit, found the then orphaned infant and would later adopt her.

Once she was of age, Perish began schooling in thaumaturgy. However, it was short-lived. A classmate coerced her into summoning a voidsent with him; though it was relatively weak at first, it grew more powerful in tandem with Perish's emotions, and eventually they were found out when it lashed out against one of her bullies. The voidsent was banished, and Perish's classmate blamed it solely on her. She was expelled. After this, she was sent to live with her aunt in Limsa Lominsa, and finished her education studying arcanima.

While in Limsa, she discovered a passion for singing, and eventually turned it into a small career of sorts. She brought it back with her to Ul'dah, and made a living by performing at social functions. It was through this that she met a sellsword and bodyguard named Altanori, who she would go on to have a romantic relationship with. After they had been together for a while, Altanori ended up taking a job from a man who turned out to be Perish's old classmate that had sold her out; since they had parted ways, he had become a powerful and respected merchant. When they met once more, he invited her to dinner, seemingly repentant. However, it ended up being a trap. The man drugged her, intending to use her as a vessel for a powerful voidsent. Altanori managed to find them and intervene just in time, getting himself killed but allowing Perish to get the upper hand and kill her former classmate, ending the ritual. She set fire to the room, destroying the evidence and fleeing Ul'dah.

She fled to Gridania, where she intended to lay low for a while. However, while performing in a small inn, she was approached by a representative of a trading company in the area, who was impressed by her singing and offered sponsorship. After some deliberation she accepted, becoming an employee of the Compagnie d'Dravania.

Things were quiet in Gridania for almost a year before she started being plagued by nightmares. In all of them, she was haunted by the presence of Altanori. After many sleepless nights, she turned to Velous Terrell for help. Suspecting it was a voidsent using her past lover's form to prey on her, they devised a plan to lure and trap it in a vessel. The ritual was almost a disaster; it ended with the burn scars on Perish's arms, and she ended up absorbing a part of Velous' aether in order to protect it from the voidsent. However, they came out of it alive, and the voidsent was successfully trapped inside of an urn, where it would be sealed and hidden until they could figure out what to do with it.

Present

After the ritual, she began to question her existence and why voidsent had such an affinity with her. She could garner no real answer from her father, and in her frustration decided to investigate on her own. She broke into the Flames records, narrowly escaping with the information about the mission Frozen Summit went on around the time of her "birth." She is currently traveling the Sagolii Desert in search of any remnants of her birth family.
