His tanned skin and dark hair denote his Thanalan heritage Scars & Markings: Hadrian's most prominent feature is the dark band tattoo - proof he successfully furthered the interests of the Band within the arena and outside of it. Following this, his face has two prominent, ugly scars. One stretches cleanly down his left eye while the other graces his jawline on the right side of his face. Each scar was 'earned' in the arena - gifts from particularly skilled opponents. Hadrian also bears various scars on his body, some from the arena and some from the intense training regimen of the Band. Voice: Hadrian rarely speaks and when he does his voice is often quiet and even. He usually speaks in short, choppy sentences as if the mere act of conversing with another person is a test to be rushed through as quick as possible. Known to yell when his anger flares up. Clothing: When not clad in his armor, Hadrian wears a variety of simple, rugged clothing. Treats his armor and equipment with an almost reverent respect. Probably the only 'good' thing he learned within the Band. The Black Band of Ul'dah The Black Band, informally known to the shadier parts of Ul'dah as The Band, is a loose collective of influential crime lords and gangs with the united purpose of making coin. A far cry from the power and prestige of the Syndicate, the Band deals in a variety of illegal goods and services ranging from assassinations to smuggling. The 'barons' of the group wield the most power (through violence or simply having gil) and each have a variety of hired enforcers - those who carry out their will without question. Though the Band is numerous, constant in-fighting between barons is very common and as such they tend to keep one another in check. Hadrian was sold by his parents to Lororo Roro and was raised under brutal conditions to fight on the Bloodsands. Though 'cheating' within the arena was truly a difficult thing to pull off, raising someone from a young age in the arts of combat for the express purpose of winning matches in the arena was about as close to cheating as you could get. The enforcers who trained Lororo's 'unproven' were often experienced fighters and though many of them were strict, unforgiving teachers they did an admirable job of molding the homeless and desperate into skilled fighters. Of course, the price for these skills was heavy and those who survived both the Bloodsands and their training were changed, usually for the worst.
