General

Born in Doma, Isamu Sato was raised by a family of hunters. When he was young, he spent many years being bullied for his frail structure as well as his feminine look. He was always considered not strong or manly enough and was always set in the back as a scout or a scavenger. This caused him to grow up bitter at his family and the community he grew up with. One day he took up a dare in which he had to break into a home and take the sword of a samurai to test his courage. As he sneaked around the house he got caught but instead of a punishment, he was offered a chance by the owner, Mamoru Tanaka, who later on became his master.

"Tending the garden is a relaxing pastime, but it does not prepare one for the inevitable battles of life. It is easy to be calm in a serene setting. To be calm and serene when under attack is much more difficult; therefore, I tell you that it is far better to be a warrior tending his garden rather than a gardener at war."
