Appearance

Lucien is rather feminine in appearance, and is often mistaken for a girl by many of those he meets. While bearing the overall appearance of a hyur, Lucien possesses pointed ears to give away his 'mongrel' blood. He has medium-length silver hair, large blue eyes, and a very light skin tone, as is common in Ishgard. As for his body shape, Lucien is (again) quite feminine, bearing a very slim form overall, with small hands and feet as well as narrow shoulders.

Personality

Lucien has a soft and kind demeanor overall, but to those he doesn't know, he could be called 'cold' and reclusive. Due to his feminine appearance, he is of course mistaken for a girl quite often, and within Ishgard, this earned him attention from both men and women (though he is only attracted to the latter). As this sort of attention flusters him, Lucien tries his hardest to be as 'manly' as possible, as he doesn't want his gender to be mistaken, though he does not exactly get angry if it happens.

Lucien, even if he is shy and reclusive, tries to be kind to everyone until he is shown malice first. He is most comfortable around women due to them being overall much more accepting and caring of him, while he has noticed that men tend to be mean or chastising of his appearance and blood. Lucien is also quite quick to blush, especially when complimented or teased. Due to his peaceful and gentle nature, he has been known to be somewhat of a pushover, and many in the Brume used this to their advantage. He occasionally stammers and stalls in his speech, and while this could be called a speech impediment, it isn't incredibly overbearing unless he grows flustered or nervous.

History

Lucien, like almost every child of hyur and elezen descent, was born of a scandalous relationship between a highborn elezen man and a lowborn hyuran servant-woman. Upon learning of the conception of a child, the elezen cast out the servant-woman, wishing to stifle the scandal--again, a story unfortunately common within Ishgard. This hyuran woman did not give up Lucien upon his birth, however, wishing to raise him for as long as she could, taking up jobs and errands where she could in order to support the boy. As Lucien reached his seventh summer, however, his mother finally succumbed to the bitter cold and impoverished conditions of the Brume, leaving Lucien an orphan.

Of course, Lucien wasn't the only orphan within the Brume, and the kindly priests and priestesses of the Holy See as well as the Temple Knights did their best to support these lost children. For every hand of light, however, there is a hand extending from the dark, and one day, Lucien was taken from the Brume by a knight of a lower Ishgardian highborne house under a full moon and forced into indentured servitude; a situation that Lucien did not outright oppose, as it did supply him with a warm home and some form of food. Here, Lucien was raised from the age of eight summers and up as a highborne girl, as this house believed his beautiful looks to be a blessing from another deity of the Twelve, Menphina, as the moon is commonly associated with the female sex. To this day at eighteen summers of age, Lucien embraces his feminine side, not being opposed to wearing clothing and accessories belonging to the fairer sex, to the point of being adorned in outfits that make his chest appear 'larger', despite his tiny and flat form, though this is only for certain occasions.

Upon reaching fifteen summers of age, however, the highborne house (its name now forgotten) quite literally burned down, as the small manor was engulfed in a wicked fire, with Lucien being the only survivor. While he was initially detained by the Temple Knights under suspicion that he caused the inferno, his kindness, age, and supposed honesty won him favor among the court, and he was released, albeit back to the streets of Foundation as he bade them do. It was in the Brume that Lucien remained for three more years, surviving by using his appearance and kindness to win him favor among the many starvelings, rogues, and urchins within the alleyways. At some point at the age of sixteen, Lucien was gravely harmed by a Dravanian outflier after Daniffen's Collar was destroyed by the heretic witch Iceheart, burning and disfiguring his body, though his face, hands and feet were unharmed by the blazing breath. Lucien makes an effort to cover up his body as a result of this, and greatly fears dragonkind (and he found it ironic that after all this time, the fires caught up with him, believing it to be divine reckoning by the Fury for his admittedly-justified sin from three summers back).

Only recently, at the age of eighteen, did Lucien leave Ishgard to see the outer world, wishing to get away from the fairly unstable city-state for a time, and wanders the realm while he can in search of warm hearths and food, and perhaps people to meet.

Equipment & Skills

Equipment & Combat

Lucien can often be seen in varied amounts of clothing suitable for the environment he is in: heavy coats in the snows of Coerthas, light shirts and pants within sunnier climes, and various beautiful outfits, likely gifts from admirers or bought with the coin he inherited from his highborne house.

In terms of weapons, Lucien wields rapiers and greatswords, likely taught to him by others, from his unknown-named house and perhaps some forgotten knights of the Brume. Lucien is able to wield magicks from both the conjury and thaumaturgy schools, and it was once believed that he used it to burn down the house of those who once abducted him in an act of revenge.

Skills

Lucien knows many skills which aided him his time wallowing in poverty. Ways to filter or distill sandy or muddy water to safely drink, how to set up campfires, creating and applying salves and herbal remedies to better deal with wounds, infections, and pain. During his time in the rich Ishgardian house, he also learned noble mannerisms such as refined speech, dances, and courtly grace.

Notes & Trivia

•Lucien is fond of rabbits, and believes them far cuter than cats (the other popular 'cute' animal) and blessed by the goddess of the moon.

•Lucien's patron deity is Menphina, and this is one of the things he has retained from his time in 'abduction'.

•Lucien's soft and light flesh is very vulnerable to the sun and can easily get sunburnt.

•In some womanly outfits of his, by habit, Lucien fills out the empty space around the chest with cloth, in order to make it so that his clothing doesn't hang off of his frail form. This has the side effect of making him look more womanly, obviously.

•Lucien adores sweets and pastries. Lucien also favors scrambled eggs, finger sandwiches, hot soup, and of course, Ishgardian tea.

•Lucien identifies as a male, but is fond of appearing androgynous. He is only attracted to women, however.

•Speaking of attractions, Lucien is enamored with elezen and taller hyur. He finds miqo'te and roegadyn decently attractive, and does not find lalafell attractive at all. Au Ra, due to their resemblances to dragonkind, frighten him.
